PhoenixChildrens.org Phoenix Children's is a non-profit that puts profits over patients

In March 2025 my three-year-old had appendicitis we went to the new Arrowhead hospital of PCH. It required surgery the next morning. I told them we were uninsured, they charged me $2500 and we were admitted.
Post surgery they held us for 9 days all while they racked up the bill to over 87K. They have offered to take 50% off but that's still too high of a bill! What angers me is they told me directly, I don't get preferred billing because I am not an insurance company who they have contracts with and feed off of each other. Legislation and their NPO status have made them untouchable by the common person, however, if enough of us small people stop blindly funding these guys, only when their wallet is threatened, they might get the message.

Recommendation: The hospital is filled with skilled people and plenty of nasty ones, the floor dr that held us there, he was well aware how desperate we were about the cost of all of this pre and especially post care was going to be, the problem was I could tell that he enjoyed seeing the pain in my eyes every time we spoke and it was really unsettling and made me feel helpless. They took advantage of me having my little one down and out, it scrambles your brains, but for what they charged me I could have hired round the clock help at the Phoenician resort for a month.

PhoenixChildrens.org Caring pediatric care experience

As a parent, finding a medical team that genuinely cares for your child's health is paramount. My experience with Phoenix Children's Medical Group was comforting and reassuring. My little one needed specialized care, and the staff here was not only professional but also incredibly empathetic and patient with all our concerns. The environment was welcoming, which made the visits less stressful for both my child and me. It's a relief to know that such dedicated pediatric care is available when we need it.
