terrible quality product and service!
Save money, time, stress and don't buy Peachtree products. Windows fog, cranks break, latches break, weights break. Reordering replacement parts is a nightmare. Service rep's don't return calls for days on end... and are self serving snobs when you can finally get them. We've been waiting five years for windows. Our orders for cranks and locks have been in for 6 weeks... and will not be shipped for another 2 to 3 weeks. Meanwhile, the house is not secure. Several businesses in our area no longer want to handle their products due to delays and attitudes.
poor quality doors!
Purchased door on 4-2-7 del to house on 5-7-07 installed then found that one side lite was installed upside down, contacted comp and they said new door would be ordered, new door received in June, had paint overspray on vinal covered jams, unusable, new door ordered again, THIRD door arrived in late July this door had another upside down side lite and was refused by me for delivery. Company did pay for original door installation and time off to supervise installation. Have been in contact with company sine July to have a different door paid for along with the cost and installation and my time off for supervision. Last contact with them is only for the first door and some expenses. I believe that they should have to pay for the new door, installation of the new door, supervision, finishing and other cost involved with a problem that is stopping the finishing of a front door and remodeling since April 2007 till Oct of 07.
window not good
I have had my peachtree window and had someone come look at it. It has been leaking around glass for the last few years. I have mold around window. I would never tell anyone to deal with peachtree. No one wants to look or repair peachtree products. Not good.
All the Peachtree windows in my house leak and my walls are mildewing, and they are falling apart.
I had $5, 000 worth of Peachtree windows installed, with $5, 000 labor costs. These windows are garbage. The installer said he has seen worse windows but I honestly cannot imagine that. The company sent new balances for every single window, since they were sliding down from the top and impossible to lock. I'm sure they would not have done that if it wasn't a known problem. In addition, they don't fit correctly into the space and you can see daylight coming in through almost every side of every window. I bought these windows on the recommendation of the windows guy at Lowes, Glenmont, NY. If I'd had a chance to actually see and operate these windows at the store, I never would have purchased them. The problem is, I wasn't smart enough to google "peachtree windows complaints" until AFTER they were delivered. Never, ever again. I have already replaced one of the four double-hungs installed and I know I will have to replace both of the bay windows too. What a complete waste of money and a headache I don't have time to deal with again. Stay away from Peachtree Windows!

I just saw your post to Complaint Board from 2010. I am a lawyer representing a homeowner whose windows have leaked and rotten. Would you be willing to discuss these window failures with me.

I sure wish I'd found this website a few weeks ago. I purchased almost $5, 000 worth of six double hungs and two bay windows. Upon install yesterday, we noticed that the screens were just "stuck on" with 4 pins, there was no channel for the screen to fit into. There is a gap in many places around the window where the screens don't fit correctly and they push out with only the gentlest of pressure. Not only is this a safety issue, there are so many bugs in the house it's like not having screens at all. I purchased them at Lowe's. I don't blame Lowe's except that with the history of poor quality and customer service I'm seeing here, why are they still selling them? I will call Peachtree tomorrow but I have such a sinking feeling in my stomach that I've wasted my money and made myself a huge headache. I'll follow-up with what happens.
I will never buy anything Peachtree again. Their products are garbage.
My home is 4 years old. I have 500 Series Casement Windows; two windows with broken seals and moisture. I have two transoms where the internal grates broke free and are floating in between the glass panels. On top of that, I have a fiberglass sliding door that leaks from inside the bottom frame when it rains.
The same exact thing is happening in our house. We just discovered it this week and as we look for more damage we're finding it's worse and worse.
What did you do?
We also have Peach Tree windows and doors and they are terrible. Not only is there mold all around the windows there are spots between the glass panes. It also appears that the treatment that we ordered on the windows for the sun, (low E), is defective and wearing off all over .The screen doors to our sliders are just a joke. The screen is at least an inch thicker than the door frame that it closes into and therefore stands beyond the frame. We have had wasps get in the openings and build nests. I would never, never buy Peach Tree Windows again.I called the company and emailed them pictures and they assured me that they were the correct screen doors. Never again!
The only thing worse then the quality of Peachtree windows is their service. I tried to order parts on line and it took them over a week to reply. When they did reply they gave a phone number to call for parts. When I called, they put me on hold and no one ever answered the phone. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for windows not to buy this junk!
I call this company McWindows: They installed two windows for me, did damage they never even bothered to compensate me for and didn't even wrap the windows they way they are supposed to. I ended up paying them for a job that wasn't even finished adequately. They were "sound abatement" windows too and what a waste of money they've turned out to be. Fortunately, it was just the two windows and not the whole house.
warranty no good
Do NOT buy from these people. They state in the warranty that the warranty covers defects in material and workmanship for 10 years. We have some very high dollar patio doors rotting out at the bottom. They were installed in 1997 and in 2000, one of them was showing rot. A Peachtree rep came and looked at the issue, and said the weather stripping that WAS INSTALLED at the factory was not sealed at the bottom properly. He sent me 1 new door (I have 4) and my contractor removed the seals and sealed them as per the reps instructions on the other 3 doors. Now, they all are rotting and when I call Peachtree and explain to them the issue, they simply say it was our fault the weatherstrip was not properly installed, EVEN THOUGH THEY INSTALLED IT AT THE FACTORY.
My first complaint about the new rotting was in June of 2006, well within the 10 year warranty period.
I will not ever recommend this company to ANYONE.
Very dissatisfied with an expensive Citadel sliding patio door installed in our home in 2005. I would not recommend these doors if You live in a climate that has temps that go below freezing for more than a few days in a row as it is just about impossible to open and close the unit. We live in Superior, WI and it gets cold occasionally! I had a factory installed transom window added and this also was a big disappointment as daylight was visible through all 4 corner miters in the exterior aluminum. A factory rep applied some sealant to the corners, but was of no help with the lack of winter operation of this door. I have studied it for a few years now and my best guess is that it warps or distorts due to the cold.
Peachtree has been the worse company I have ever dealt with period. I have one of there doors and getting help or customer service in Wyoming does not exist. I try to call the company and only hear music for 30 minutes, when I do leave a message with what is wrong they call back and leave a message "this is (so and so) if we can be of any further assistance please call 1-888-the same number I left the message at, without even answering my question. My glass has seperated, my lock has broken, when I order replacement parts they send the wrong ones, (forget calling). Now I have a door that I can not open from the inside, a lock that does not work, and glass that is seperated allowing mosture in and still no answer or help. I have accepted the fact that I will need to tear out the whole door and replace it with another brand. This company has fly by night qaulity, that charges premium prices for low end products and poor service. Never buy from them.
non-stop warranty never got going!
Peachtree's "Non-Stop Warranty" was introduced January 1, 1990. The Non-Stop Warranty is non-transferable. Products purchased between January 1990 and December 1994 required homeowners to register their products to qualify for the Non-Stop Warranty. Peachtree does not provide labor or labor expenses incurred to remove or replace any defective product, or...

I have a new (3 months) million dollar plus home in Colorado. Within a month of moving in, I noticed failed windows and doors(11 at last count). As noted above, customer service is a non-starter. This company and its' products are a hugh waste of money. Letters to the corporate leadership are a waste of time. Save your time and money complaining; it is time for a class-action suit. chasearmstrong3@comcast.net
I also have had a terrible experience with Peachtree customer serv. They were rude and told me "it's a new company and what ever they did in the past no longer applies". I have three patio french doors, two of which are no longer working. One door I can get out but not in, and another I can't open at all. At almost fifteen hundred dollars each I can hardly afford to replace them. My suggestion is to never buy Peachtree, and I tell anyone who will listen...

I've never had a worse experience with "customer service" than with Peachtree Windows and Doors. Their products are terrible and their service is worse! I can't get return calls from their rep and have a door that's been problematic from the begining! No one wants to service their products and I've heard from every dealer I've spoken with that they never recommend Peachtree.
If you're looking for patio doors or windows my suggestion from exprerience is DO NOT BUY PEACHTREE...you'll be terribly disappointed!
