I am so thrilled to have stumbled across this app. I am an avid book lover and have a huge collection of books I never thought the collector side of me would part with. I love to read, but there is a small pile of books I know I won’t pick up to read twice, so I decided to give it a shot to sell on the app.
It was super quick and easy to take pictures, fill in the info, and put my books up for selling! Shipping them was a lot more simple than I had expected. Packaged it up, went to the post office with the QR Code, they scanned it, and after the shipping label was printed and stuck on the package, off it went!
As for being the buyer, I haven’t purchased anything off of the app quite yet, but definitely plan on it soon!
Would 100% recommend this app to any and every book lover looking for more books or looking to rehome their no longer wanted books.

I’ve been using this app for about 6 months now and overall I really love it. It’s really easy to search for and purchase books and I’ve had really great experiences with almost all of my purchases. The one thing I don’t really like is that the app seems glitchy when loading my wishlist. I have an extensive wishlist (a few hundred books long at least) and whenever I try to scroll through it to clear out the books that have been sold so that I can whittle it down, it will show me my few most recent adds and then will rapidly flicker up some books are on my wish list while not actually letting them load and eventually only pulling up some of my oldest wishlist books. Ive noticed this only seems to be a problem in the app and not if you access PangoBooks in a browser but the app is what I use most frequently, and I would really like to be able to see my full wishlist in the app.

This app is my newest obsession. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences so far. There’s a great little community of people and I’ve discovered books I’ve never heard of before. It’s not as overly saturated as eBay so it feels like your books have a better chance of selling here. I’ve made a few sales already, had a great experience with a kind seller, and the PangoBooks team helped me sort out a partial refund on a bundle I goofed up on as a seller.
My favorite feature has got to be the Twitter-like section. You can let people know you’re running a sale, leave reviews on books, and can put up an ISO of a book you’re looking for! I’ve discovered several new shops from this!
Besides some little things that could be added to the app, like refreshing the page and leaving a review for buyers, this app is terrific. I want to share it with everyone but also keep it a secret so it doesn’t get harder to buy and sell on there lol!

I hate it when apps don’t allow you to browse first before deciding to create an account. But there it was.. the forceful “create an account”, just to see what the availability is on the app. So i did create one and then I’ll delete it later if I don’t care for the app.

I’m not too impressed with the items, prices and there is no way to bid on anything if you think the price is too high (there was a book listed for $3 below original listing price with a $3.75 shipping price, the math doesn’t add up there).

So, as I always do, I go and delete my account because I don’t like my information just floating out there on the internet.
But, there is NO option WHATSOEVER to delete the account. I went to FAQ, yet there’s no information about how to go about deleting your account. No email address given to ask for account deletion. Nothing, nada, none.

Not only do they force you to create one, you can’t even delete it. Download at your own risk.

I love this app! Once people start using it, they’ll never buy their books off of eBay, etc. again! Great setup/dashboard, great community, and great prices!

Selling: The only drawback is that it appears selling can only be done from the app. Despite this, Pango provides an end-to-end selling solution for your bookstore. Post (your book), Print (shipping label), Ship, Get paid… it’s that easy.

I have been so delighted with my experience buying books on this app! In recent years the price of used books has skyrocketed, and Pango is the first place in a long while where I have actually found really great deals! I have also had a great experience with all of the sellers. Most of them have been super friendly and swift shippers, and all of them have shipped me great books! My one big gripe and the reason for only 4 stores is the deep frustration I feel every time I leave a review for the seller. The text box where you are meant to type up your review is covered over by the popup keyboard on your iPhone—making it impossible to see what you are typing. I’ve tried to get around this by typing up a review in the notes app to cut and paste but I’m unable to paste it into the app. It’s super frustrating trying to type a message that you can’t see. I beg of you developers, please find a way to fix this! It’s a little thing but causes big frustration in the moment.

I love the app as a buyer, first off. You can find cheaper books than places like ThriftBooks or DiscoverBooks or eBay, and you're buying direct from booklovers. This really is the Poshmark for Books.

As a seller, though, the app has a single, glaring and FRUSTRATING problem: when you go to upload more than one photo, it will often replace those photos with the same picture, at random, five different times. It's taken me multiple edits on the listing to get the photos to show the right ones. It's so annoying that it's almost a deterrent to listing more books, and I now understand why the majority of Sellers only show the front cover. (I am using iOS 15.4.1 with the latest PB update.)

Everything else is a breeze. It snapshots the ISBN (if available) and auto fills the most pertinent info, including the weight, leaving the guesswork out of shipping.

Printing labels is a snap and they are compatible with thermal label printers. All you need are packing supplies and you're good to go!

I made a Pango account to start selling some extra books I had lying around the house. Usually I sell mine on Facebook Marketplace or some book groups I’m a member of, but I often find the process draining. I often lowball the shipping costs and I usually have to go to the post office to send all my books media mail.
With Pango, however, it couldn’t be easier to list my books! I really like that you can scan the ISBN on your books to upload most of the info about them to the listing. I like that you can set your own price and also add thoughts.
My favorite thing about Pango is that they made shipping super easy! You can print out a Media Mail label and send it right from home. The tracking feature is also pretty accurate.
My only suggestions to Pango would be to reduce the amount of tabs under the menu and have different user views for buying vs. selling.
I have also bought a few books and all have come quickly and well-packaged so far.
I would definitely recommend Pango to others in the future.

i first heard about this app through a new youtuber who loves to read and have decided to try it out for myself and see if it’s for me. let me tell you, i’m absolutely in love with this app! i’ve already made 2 purchases of 3 books in total in 1 week. the books were either brand new or extremely lightly used and i have saved money in the process compared to amazon prices for a brand new book. i also had a great experience with my 1st seller who eased my mind and answered all of my questions, since i was nervous about buying from a brand new platform. i do have a few suggestions:
*** allow the wishlists to be sorted by: author, title of the books, and seller so that your users can see if they have any free shipping or any other perks per seller that they are shopping from.
other than that, i’m absolutely obsessed with this app, as i’m on it daily for hours just browsing and looking for more new books to buy and see what sparks my interest. so happy to have found this app. way better than buying brand new books on amazon. books are getting a second chance at life in someone else’s home instead of ending up in a landfill.

I learned about this app through a Facebook add and decided to try it out of curiosity. Given the relatively low user base and the questionable nature of most FB adds, I was a bit skeptical and fully prepared to be scammed. I purchased a copy of Milton’s “Paradise Lost” for $1 (plus ~$4 of taxes and shipping), and was pleasantly surprised when the book arrived at my doorstep in fantastic condition. Obviously, not all buying experiences will go exactly as this one did, but I have confidence to buy from this app again after that transaction.
Technically, the app could use a few tweaks here and there to make the service a little more seamless. For instance, finding your purchases and accessing a tracking number takes some searching, even after I had done it a few times. Placing that option a little more prominently on the hot bar could help.
The forums are a great idea, but clicking off of them resets you to the top of the page, making scrolling to read more than the first few posts a bit frustrating.
Overall though, this app is one that I will continue to use in the future, and look forward to seeing many more people use it as well!

There are so many selections on the app and the community is just fantastic as they are also avid readers who understand your love for books. It’s also extremely easy to post books you want to sell though, it is a bit more difficult to be able to get that book to sell. The main reason being there are more sellers than there are buyers on the app currently. A lot of the people on the app are ones trying to get rid of books but they also buy from other sellers while there are only very few people who sign up to actually buy books. I actually feel the prices are very reasonable especially the shipping (compared to apps like Mercari). As a buyer and seller I really wished that I could split my earnings on different books unfortunately, the app only lets you use all your savings on the whole purchase when I just want to use some and save some money for a different purchase. Another thing is unfortunately if a buyer reviews their purchase you still have to wait three days til you get your earnings. I wish they’d take after Mercari where as the buyer is rating their package they can also confirm receiving their package so that sellers can instantly get paid.

I’ve had this app for about a week and I’m loving it so far! I’ve found some books for super cheap in great condition. I also think that this app is cool because I’ve been finding books that I’ve never heard about before. I will say that most of the selection is older books but there are some people selling the newer popular books too! I just think that the prices are great, especially shipping! I also sell on this app and think it’s pretty easy to navigate through and it’s nice to get a little something for books I don’t read anymore.

Since it is a new app, there are always ways for it to improve and here are a few. When you wishlist books, it doesn’t add them right away in the shop portion of the app. I think you have to exit the app and swipe up to restart the app for it to show up or it just shows up whenever. I’ve also found myself accidentally deleting my listing for selling so I think automatic saved drafts of listings you want to sell would be a good idea. Finally, after you look at a certain thread and want to go back to the thread homepage, it takes you back to the top/all the way to the beginning, not where you were before. This makes it so you have to scroll all the way to where you left off or miss threads that people posted. But these are just little nit picky ways to improve an otherwise great app!

My new favorite place to buy and sell books! I downloaded this app a few days ago hoping to get rid of some books that were taking up space and I’ve already sold a few of them! The process of selling is super easy and I love that you are able to scan the books for most of the information during the listing process. I also appreciate having the option to use the money you make within the app or cash out as it makes it super easy to purchase and sell using funds already in your account.

Now, while I love the app, I do wish it were better categorized especially when it comes to searching for books of a certain genre (we do have the ‘browse hashtags’ option but I usually have to scroll to find it). Maybe add a list of genres (and subgenres) when you go in to search that you can click on and be taken to a list of books automatically. For me, these would be super helpful as a drop-down within the search bar rather than having to search in order to get to the filter button. I don’t often use the my listings in the search bar (as it’s already in my ‘account’)so maybe it could be replaced with a genre list.

I would also like to see the ‘Account’ page simplified as there is a lot going on with it. Maybe you could combine some of the options together like Listings and Reviews and Ratings, or my sold Books and Earnings.

Overall the app is great and I highly recommend for those of you wanting to sell, as well as those looking for an app to purchase books for a low price!

I’m in love with this app— so much that I had to come to the App Store to review it! I’ve had it for about two weeks and I’ve sold about 18 books already. I absolutely love how easy and convenient it is so make listings. I had never sold anything online, but when I went to the “desktop version,” everything that I needed to know was answered on the FAQ section. You also get an e-mail with instructions along with the shipping label, so that gives you a sense of security in case you’ve never sold online before. It does take about 3 days after the buyer receives the package for you to have access to your earnings, which is not so terrible. I also appreciate how platform fee is not obscene— it is 20% of all book sales margin. I think it’s a fair fee considering that you’re being insured and they handle part of the logistics for you. Also, customer service is super quick to respond— I heard back from them the following day after my inquiry. There are a few things I would probably still work on regarding the app. Sometimes when I’m listing a book and I’ve included the details such as classification, I’ve noticed that if I go to the next book detail like genre, the previous selection about the classification didn’t save. It is a bit frustrating to go back and re-select it, but not that huge of a deal. I also wish we could edit the listening through our desktop and not just the phone app— but again, not that big of a deal. Anyway, I 100% recommend this app for anyone trying to find new reading material at a reasonable price or for those trying to clean out their bookshelves to add more books to their collection. ✨

App won’t load so I signed in via the net. Once I did all my info is gone. The money I had in there is gone. The five books I’m waiting payment for and everything else is gone. I want my money. What are they doing? Why is all my info deleted I’m so angry. I never took a screen shot of what money I have made and is in my acct. I never thought this would happen that I would need proof Wow I’m so livid this is disgusting. They are thieves. I should have over $5

I put my books on this app because I love buying my books from here. Sometimes the sellers put cute little gifts in the packages, and I’ve never had any issues. It’s better than contributing to Amazon. Anyways, I realized nobody had bought any of my books in a while, looked, and saw that all my listings had disappeared off of the app. It took me hours to list them all out, and it sucks if I have to redo it all.

I just sold another book. It was delivered today and PangoBooks has not shown this and they haven’t started the process of paying me yet.

The app is overall wonderful! BUT they never release your funds and when you send them a message they just ignore you. Very disappointed.

I got this up because of online recommended it so that I can value my library. This doesn’t help me with valuation of books at all. One star, moving on.

I found this app very frustrating to use. It’s not at all user friendly, the tracking is horrible, and you can only get your funds if you have a PayPal account.

I didn’t even get a chance to use the app before my email and texts were flooded with spam messages. This was the only app/site I gave my email to, so I know it was this app. Just beware.

I try to log into the app and it sends a verification to my email. I enter the code and the app says email is required. There is only a field to enter to code, not email. What a waste of time.

The website was very hard to use and Because of that I ordered two of the same book from different sellers because the first one said the book was sold. Yes it was to me. Not at all a happy with Pango site.

For selling books on here they either take $.40 for every sale under two dollars or 20% for every sale Over that.That’s roughly 5 to 6% higher than eBayWhich charges roughly 14% for book sales. I would buy off here but I would not sell

I requested that my account with PangoBooks be deactivated , due to shipping a book a month ago and not getting paid! Ashley from PangoBooks is the worst at getting things done! I just deleted the app and so long , I not missing anything.

Ive had this app for over a week. I was loving it at first and now i cant even message a seller let alone open a message that I've received from a seller. Ive tried deleting the app and redownloading i also tried resetting my phone and nothing is working.

PangoBooks actively encourages censorship. Support your local second-hand bookstore instead.

ETA: The book that was censored from my account was an action/thriller graphic novel. Not sure what “pornographic” has to do with anything. I’m guessing they also censor novels that do not meet their vague standards.

I discovered PangoBooks over the summer and have ordered many orders through the app. However, recently the cart function has become unusable. When I go to see which books I have added to my cart, I am unable to edit any of the contents. I can do is scroll through and see what I’ve added, but I can’t remove items or even check-out, so I’m now unable to buy any books.

To sell they take a $3.50 platform fee, on top of shipping fees that are $2-3 higher than necessary due to being able to ship vi media mail USPS. I just sold 2 books super cheap (about $15 under value new but in perfect condition, read once), and sold both for $24 to the same person, and I only got $10 of it. Absolutely ridiculous; I’ll stick to buying and selling on Facebook groups.

Clunky app, with very few users. It’s ugly to look at and everyone’s marking their books up way to high. Why would I pay for a $7 ancient used paperback, when there’s websites that I can get it new for $3 or $4. Not to mention that shipping prices make it almost the same price as buying it at full resale value. Trust me, just use book outlet, where you can at least use filters to find what you’re after!

They will absolutely steal your money. I received payment for a book that I sold. I received an email that my routing number was wrong. I could not fix it in the app and the money was no longer sitting in pending. There is no customer service at all. The only way to reach them is to message and they do not respond. It’s been over 2 weeks and I still have not received the money and cannot get anyone to respond or help.

This app is fine for buying but if you sell, don’t even try to direct deposit to a bank account. I’ve had a deposit transaction processing for two weeks now, reached out to the help service multiple times and they say it’s normal and keep waiting and it’s on my bank. And my bank (Regions) still has not received the funds. So basically I’m out all of that money. Would not recommend unless you have your funds transferred to PayPal.

This is not an online bookstore, this is a platform for independent sellers to sell books. Unfortunately my very first order the seller never shipped my book after I paid. PangoBooks makes you wait 10 full days (so on the 11th day) to receive a refund and that is the only “customer service” they’ll offer. It’s definitely not worth the hassle. If I ordered it elsewhere I could have gotten this used book for way cheaper, way faster and would have been halfway finished reading. But I was trying to support smaller businesses.
