The entire process is much more difficult than needed. I think they make is so difficult and onerous that it discourages people from even applying. The process should be spelled out and easy to follow. Live links to input information that you are requesting. One shouldn't have to go to two different websites to provide the information. I opened account on Ohio Dept. of Job & Family Svcs to claim/file unemployment. I received correspondence indicating that I had to upload a resume by specific date and complete job profile also a later specific date. No links or directions provided for me to click on or go to another website to provide this information. After waiting over an hour for chat, I find out that I need to update my resume on "Ohio Means Jobs", which I really find ironic, it really should say something about the monies that Ohio saves by not paying out unemployment or making it so incredibly confusing and difficult. So I go to the Ohio Means Jobs to upload my resume, and the system gets stuck on not allowing me to enter Ohio and the county. Several times I try to enter this information, but it doesn't allow me to enter the information.
Also, there is no clear cut info about the process. No where did I see that while one waits on the application to be processed, that one is supposed to apply for two jobs a week. Specifically, it says "work search activities" but there isn't a clear definition of activities. Granted, applying for a job would likely fit the bill, but no information is provided to explain what is accepted by the agency.
The week also isn't defined anywhere prior to trying to file the information for the week. With the internet, one can apply for jobs 24/7. I had applied for 2 jobs during a week (Mon-Sun) but apparently their week is different, so I wasn't able to use the 2 jobs that I had applied for. One doesn't find that out until filling out the claim for that week. It would have been helpful to know PRIOR to that.
Why does one have to go onto two different websites to file for unemployment & submit required documentation? What is wrong with ONE website to claim and submit all the information that the agency requires.
