We traveled for the first time on the Lincoln Tunnel and Delaware Memorial Bridge highways on July 5th and 6th, respectively. We received tickets for the toll, but when we exited the highway, there were no booths to pay the toll - only E ZPass booths, so we were forced to take one of them. We saw the camera take a picture of our license plate and assumed they would send us a bill for the tolls.
They did indeed send us bills for the 2 tolls, but added $50 in admin fees to each toll. They would only waive one fee as a "courtesy."
This seems like an unethical practice to take advantage of unsuspecting travelers. How can you possibly pay for a toll when there are no booths available other than the E ZPass ones?
Desired outcome: I'd appreciate a refund for the other $50 admin fee.
NJ EZ Pass is a SCAM.
They rejected two valid customer disputes, listing 3 possible reasons why the dispute were rejected.
All three reasons were lies.
A one dollar toll and a fifty dollar administrative fee? Really?
I live in Maryland, and pay tolls here and in Virginia, and both states' EZ pass systems are fair and reasonable.
NJ's system must be run by the mafia. Makes me hate NJ.
