Mini gap spacers
Purchased 700 sf of peruvian teak to to build a deck. Used the mini gap spacers. Do not use the minigap spacers as it is not possible to replace a damaged board - one must dismantle the deck! In order to fix or replace one individual board. There are no warnings or disclosures as to the inability to replace one board and, as life has it that is bound to occur. The cost of labor alone in installing a deck or dismantling it makes this a risky venture. No warnings no disclosures. Spoke to the newtech wood rep about the issue - there are no other solutions. Let the buyer beware. This is a major design flaw.
Decking material
Since 2009 I have used this company twice to supply decking material to my company in Australia. The company provided a 20 year warranty however does not abide by the warranty. A recent conversation with Cliff indicated that they are aware that the product is faulty and disintegrated and crumbled turning the decking boards to powder. After one complaint they supplied some material free of charge (1/4 of a container) however I now have one container that I cannot use for fear of warranty issues and another container volume on sites that the boards are crumbling and falling apart. Conversations with the company indicate that they knowingly sell a defective product knowing full well they will never comply with the provided warranty.

This is Cliff from NewTechWood and I read your complaint. The product you are referring to is a first generation uncapped product which is known in the industry to have crumbling problems. That is why everyone has switched over in the last couple of years to a capped coextruded product.
Just like I said that day when I talked to you on the phone we would be happy to help you out with some capped product at a discounted rate.
