I was brought here on 1/28/2026 due to an auto accident. x-rays were taken. An IV was put into my left lower arm for a CT scan. The CT scan completed, I waited for the results and doctor. In the meantime, the IV started to hurt. I approached the young lady who was conducting all of the vitals and the young man (Asian/streaked hair/Triage) and sked could the IV be taken out because of hurting. I also asked about something to eat due to not eating all day (up since 4:15AM). I was told by both professional that the IV had to stay in until discharge in case there was other test to be taken and doctor seen. I also asked about information on rides home. I live in Rio Vista which is 61 miles/1hour 15 min. away from the clinic. This information was not given nor were the two professionals helpful. I never received anything to eat. I was called and discharged. The hospital let me know that Uber was only available through them for 30 miles. I had to find a way home for myself. The young man (RN?) asked several questions about different options for transportation home. finally, the decision was made, I would just pay myself for uber. The Uber was installed on phone and transportation set. Discharge was complete and home I went.
Upon arriving home, around 10:30PM, I went to undress and noticed that the same IV, I wanted removed but was to couldn't be, was still inserted in my lower left arm. I called the hospital. Still not have eaten, I spoke with the person who said she was the young lady taking vitals earlier. I reiterated the earlier conversation with her, her coworker and myself. I then informed her that I was now at home and the IV was still in my arm. She put me on hold. Low and behold, she transferred me to someone else. Not her Circus, not her Monkeys. My friend couldn't believe how fast she detached herself from the conversation.
Well, to make this shorter than it should be and because the medication I just took is kicking in; I was told to come back to the medical center. ARE YOU KIDDING! After I just paid $140 to come home. Then I was told there was a medical center off of Highway 80 near Rio Vista. THAT'S WRONG! I was also told to just pull it out myself. My friend was screaming "Don't you do that!" this las individual didn't even know my name or any other information. This means that the young lady really got rid of the issue quickly.
It's still in my arm and I'll be going to an ER today (It's after midnight) to get it removed correctly.
I'll be sleeping with a sweat jacket on to cover my arms so there'll be no chance of pulling while sleeping.
Negligence! Negligence! Negligence!
