Mariacho Uno review: no show for performance 1

To Whom It May Concern:
I have a complaint against Mariachi Uno c/o Julio Riojas who is the leader of the Mariachi group… on December 13, 2008… I signed an agreement with Julio Riojas for them to perform at my son wedding on September 19, 2009 and gave him a deposit for 100.00 dollars.

He was suppose to perform between 6:30 p.m. and end his performance at 7:30 p.m. which is on our contract agreement. The day before the wedding I called Julio because I hadn’t heard from him and asked him if everything was going as plan.

He told me that he had to work and didn’t think he was going to be able to perform at the wedding, I told him he knew this 9 months in advance and why would he book himself if he know he had to work. Then he said that he would get out early and still make it for the wedding to perform.

On Saturday the day of the wedding I called Julio to make sure he was going to be there… he said that he’s Mariachi group would be there and that he would meet them there.

We got to the reception and another Mariachi group was there they said that they got a call from Dallas from a Mariachi group that told them that they were suppose to perform at a wedding but couldn’t make it because they had another engagement. I was very confuse and tried to call Julio he wouldn’t answer his phone… Talking to the Mariachi group that did show up I found out that Julio had called the one in Dallas and asked them to take his place, he never intended to show it.

I told the Mariachi‘s that I had given Julio a deposit for 100.00 dollars and they told me that they had nothing to do with that… they wanted me to pay them to perform from 5:45 p.m till 6:45 p.m. that’s the time they were told, I told them that the bride and groom weren’t even here yet they said that’s the only time they could perform because they had another wedding at 7:00 p.m. … I asked them to leave because I wasn’t going pay more money and they weren’t the ones we had an agreement with.

I tried to call Julio several times he never answer his phone or return my calls… I feel he was very unprofessional and should return my deposit since he never showed up. The reason we hired Julio and Mariachi Uno is because they give a show and they get your guest involve. I wanted it to be special for my son and my daughter-in-law to be. I was so embarrasses that night…I hope over 500 guest and I had to explain why we didn’t have any Mariachi… I’m hoping this letter keep them from doing this to someone else.
