Mandatory Onstar GMC Acadia review: Optional? Onstar package

On May 23, 2022, I ordered a GMC Acadia SLT thru West Herr GMC, East Aurora NY. The dealer printed out the BUILD sheet. It was a 2022 BUILD sheet but he said the 2023 BUILD sheet was not online yet.

The vehicle came in to the dealer, but they had ordered it incorrectly (wrong engine). I wanted the upgrade V6 as noted on the sheet.

The dealer re-ordered the vehicle on 8/20/2022 and the BUILD sheet was a 2023 sheet. Before ordering, the dealer sent me the sheet to approve, which I did except for the R9M 3 Yr On-star plan $1500. (I have email documentation of this). I was never told that this OPTION was mandatory.

The vehicle just came to the dealer on 10/27/2022 and I was then presented the invoice that included this $1500 option, and was then told it was mandatory. I showed the dealer rep the BUILD sheet where it was listed as an OPTION that I had crossed out on 8/20/2022 when agreeing to the purchase.

At this point, the dealer told me it Take it or leave it. After waiting 5 months for a vehicle, I had no choice and purchased the vehicle.
