Mallory Portraits in Portsmouth, NH was advertisin' a drawin' for a free family portrait
Mallory Portraits in Portsmouth, NH was advertisin' a drawin' for a free family portrait. I entered this drawin' and won. I was contacted 'bout my winnin' and proceeded to schedule an appointment at which time I was notified I gotta make a $200 deposit to hold my appointment. It was confirmed that this deposit was just that, a deposit which was refundable if I needed to cancel and upon completion of my appointment. I unfortunately can't commit to my upcomin' g appointment in May so I canceled this appointment well within the guidelines provided. I asked to cancel and for my money back and was informed I gotta do so over the phone however they won't answer my phone call. They are now not replyin' to my emails and still have my $200 deposit. This is theft and needs to be reported.
I won a contest for Mallory Portraits for a shoot of my boys
I won a contest for Mallory Portraits for a shoot of my boys. They asked for a $175 deposit, which I thought was normal for their usual paid shoots. They said I would get the money back when I visited. I thought maybe they wanted people to use the money to buy prints, but I didn't want to do that because their prices are really high (hundreds for prints.) On the day of the shoot, I forgot at first and was late because I had two kids with me. Finding parking in that area is not easy, and my kids were really upset and didn't want to do the shoot. About 10 minutes after my appointment time, they called me and asked if I wanted to reschedule. I was so relieved because then I could do it with calm kids. I said, "Oh my gosh, yes, is that okay?!" The woman said, "Yes, that's okay, I'll have scheduling contact you." But I didn't get a call in the afternoon, so I emailed them. They told me I couldn't reschedule and ignored my request for a refund. It's a scam!
