We had our travel from Delhi to Amsterdam booked for 2 Adults + 1 Child (3yr old) under Economy Class, with baggage allowance stated as - 3 Check In Baggages (23kgs per bag) , 3 Hand baggages ( 8 kg per bag) and 3 personal items (2kg each). All our luggage bags were in compliance with the said weight and size limits. We additionally had a Baby food/supplies bag (small enough to fit under the seat ) that weight around 7.5 kgs, with the following items (Baby Food for next 24 hours (extra- as our son has some allergies), Mineral Water with electrolytes, package Fluids- Juices, Milk and yogurt glass bottles, Baby carrier, Massage Belt, Back Support Belt, hot water bag (for my back support), Fruits, some toys and books for our baby and pair of extra clothes and winter clothes - as he was suffering from chronic diarrhea) in compliance with the conditions stated here- https://www.lot.com/us/en/journey/baggage/long-haul-baggage.
The ground duty staff from LOT airlines refused to allow Baby Food/Supplies bags as additional baggage (which is in fact allowed as additional baggage by the Airlines) The staff was rude and lacked empathy and treated us differently. This behaviour was inconsistent and favourable for people based on their origin (White VS Brown). As we were already late at the check in counter (owing to a road accident on our journey to the airport) and my limited mobility (had slipped disc injury) and with a sick toddler, we couldn't discuss this any further, in a way disappointed with the overall experience and embarrassed to have been treated differently. We complied with the instructions from the ground staff, which included moving some of our luggage from Handbagges to another handbag - and checking it in. We did the same and hence the additional luggage checked in was 16 kgs instead of its original weight - 8 kgs.
We had to do all of this, while waiting in a regular line (instead of a priority line - that should have been offered as we were with a toddler) and were on the verge of missing our flight- We were at the checkin counter until 6:00 am and our Flight boarding was at 6:40 am.
