Bought into Lion Resorts Vacation Club as we wanted guarenteed high quality holidays in Cyprus. Free week in one resort which was excellent and shown 2 others that were being built so went ahead. Had holiday next year in one new resort, very happy. Now all 3 resorts no longer available and head offices moved to Spain. No explanations given. Now unable to use weeks, as wish to continue holidays in Cyprus. Now paying for private accommodation and still paying loan for Vacation club.

We have had a similar experience with Lion Resorts, but we had a call from a Company explaining that because we paid part of the contract with our credit card we could claim all the money back through section 75 of the Consumer Credit act because Lion Resorts are in breach of contract. We have submitted all the paperwork to the bank and have had a letter back from them agreeing to the claim and the money will be put back into our account as soon as possible. I would advise anybody who are in dispute with them to do this before the liquidate and there is no money left to claim.

My husband and I have had a similar experience - bought into Lion Resorts on the basis that our 'home; resort would be Capital Coast in Paphos, Cyprus and were happy with the deal we had... on the basis of this we bought another week on a 'buy to let' basis - the basis being that we were buying into a new resort in Paphos (th Amphora) that was not built so we couldn't use it for 2 years and were compensated with a refund of several thousands of pounds. It now transpires that the Amphora doesn't exist and that Lion Resorts no longer have Capital Coast as part of its portfolio. Had we known this was going to happen we would never have bought into another week. We have been trying for 7 months to get a response to your letters / emails but Lion Resorts are not responding to our complaint about being mis-sold . We have been advised by Lion Resorts that they have now switched their operations to Majorca but this is not what we bought into. We are taking legal advise and may commence litigation against Lion Resort - has anyone else gone down this route?
