I was a member of the Friends Reward Card for Muer Restaurants mostly in Michigan and Florida for over 20 years. Landry's, Inc. took over all of the Muer Restaurants in the early 2000's and converted my card to their Landry's Select Club, whose benefits were nowhere near what Muer offered. In December of 2010 they closed my favorite restaurant, The Big Fish, where I took clients, family and friends almost weekly. They gave the staff 2 weeks notice before closing, just a few weeks before Christmas!

I cancelled my Landry Select Card and Unsubscribed from their emailing list in December 2010. I continued to receive emails, and after 9 attempts to Unsubscribe, they continue to keep me on their email list. I even got a confirmation email back in February that I was Unsubscribed. Well I'm not - another mass email came today, the third since February!

I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau, all social media and any other way that I can think of to stop them! I even wrote a letter to their CEO 3 months ago, and received no response. Please do not patronize Landry's Restaurants, and mostly DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THEIR SELECT CARD. They do not respect their own Unsubscribe, their employees, and certainly not patron's rights!

And regarding my previous post on 6/1/2012. I did go to the BBB, filed a formal complaint - letters and emails went back and forth. I was assured that my Landry's Select Card had been cancelled, and my name had been removed from their email list. Guess what?!?!?! On August 21st I received and email with my updated points - I haven't been in one of their restaurants in almost 3 years! AND their latest promotions. I have gone back to the Houston, TX BBB to re-open the complaint. I did business in a highly-competitive market for almost 30 years - how do they get away with this? BOYCOTT them PLEASE! THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU - WHY GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY?!?!?!?!?!?

I agree! Their restaurant pulled out our city and left me with a useless membership. I couldn’t use it and the next closest Saltgrass was well over 100 miles away. I asked them to push my annual free b-day meal a couple extra days to accommodate me when I travel to Austin next week but they refused and gave a typical generic corporate, “these are the policy rules” reply.

I’m in a hold pattern now to see if they’ll refund my membership since I can’t use it in my city.

Screw this company. I also got bilked for $25 and never received any discount or benefits from this card. I did go to the better business bureau and wrote the attorney General about this fraudulent activity that Landrys commits on a daily basis. So far no word from anyone. I guess $25 is so little no one cares. I hope the people in charge of this dining program go to jail one day. BEWARE OF LANDRYS SELECT CLUB !

There seems to be a pattern of inefficiency at best and outright extortion at worst surrounding the Landrys Select Card. I purchased one on a convention trip and have been turned down in trying to use it 3 times since. I've spoken to managers, service representatives by phone, and always have been told the issue has now been resolved and it will work for sure next time (no points added for the full payments made each time. I've given up. I've been defrauded the $25 membership for services promised but never provided in any way. I'm appalled a large operation such as this not only cannot correct the very service it is selling through the cards, but that there appears to be an arrogant, blame the victim attitude when a request is received to correct their failed system. I used to like Mortons, along with the Chart House and some other chains now swallowed by Landrys. Quality has taken a significant nosedive, so I'm writing off the chains as another victim of horrible management, arrogance toward their guests, and looting oh the goodwill capital those chains once enjoyed. Be forewarned!

Joined the Select Club while dining at McCormick and Schmick in Washington DC, the food and experience was A1
We tried Morton's Steak House for the first time the very next night. It was inedible! The appetizer was cold, it was supposed to be hot. The steak was raw to rare, it was ordered medium. The meat had strands of connective tissue making it impossible to chew.
Was offered a comp meal but we don't live in DC and have no immediate plans to return. We at at vvMcCormick and Schmick in Chicago, it was just ok.
I complained on the Select Club website and 13 days later still have had a response.

Cancelled membership. 25% success in a business such as this is not acceptable. There are too many good restaurants out there to keep getting poor service and food, at the restaurant and corporate level.

I TOTALLY agree - STAY AWAY from ANY Tilman owned business. My daughter and some friends worked for him at the San Luis in Galveston. When he fly's in - with his bratty 4 kids, well...lets just say, the monkeys run amouk.
Please do not support this man and his billionaire lifestyle. He took Keman and turned it to crap. A carnival. Did the sam thing with Galveston.

I hate Tilman Fertetti and his brother Todd is a mooch too.

My family has celebrated birthdays at McCormick and Schmick for many years. This year, when my mother called to make a reservation for my birthday, the restaurant told her about Landry's Club. If I joined for $25, I would get a $25 credit for opening the membership and another $25 credit for my birthday. It sounded like a deal, so I paid the $25.

I received two emails before we dined, the first one confirming my account had been opened and I had a $25 new account credit, and the second one wishing me a happy birthday and confirming my $25 birthday credit. We went and had a lovely dinner. When the bill came, I provided the phone number that I had given for the membership. The waiter said he would make the adjustment and went into the back. He came back with a woman a few minutes later and said there was an issue and the woman would get it all straightened out. She confirmed my information and went into the back again. I downloaded the Landry's app on my phone and confirmed the $50 credit. The woman returned again and was still having problems. I showed her my phone and she ended up taking my phone into the back with her to get things straightened out. She returned a while later, unable to get the situation straightened out. She apologized profusely, gave me a print-out of my account with a copy of the bill stapled to it, and had written down the customer service number for the club for me. I paid the full bill.

I called, and was told that the issue was with the restaurant, and someone would call me back to issue the $50 credit to my credit card. One week later, no call. I called them again today and got the run-around. "Oh, you must have deferred your credits." I told her that I had no clue about what "deferring credits" meant, and I had not done that. I then related the fact that the printout provided by the restaurant had an "N" in the Deferred column so the account wasn't deferred at the time that I was at the restaurant. She then went through several more scenarios attempting to place blame. Finally, I told her that I felt it was in my best interest to simply cancel my account and get my initial $25 back. She said "OK", took some information and then told me it would be 7-10 days before I would see a credit on my card. To add insult to injury, I then got a breezy email thanking me and hoping I enjoyed my Loyalty Point/Reward adjustment.

It used to be that on occasions where an issue like this occurred, SOMEONE at the business would take some responsibility and apologize for the inconvenience. I did get an apology at the restaurant, but NOBODY from "customer service' bothered to extend even this small courtesy. This whole thing has been so badly bungled, we won't be returning to the restaurant, which is a shame. Luckily there are many alternatives in my city which have not been tainted by poor customer service and a lackadaisical attitude towards customer satisfaction.

Last November for my birthday, I went to a Landry's restaurant fully expecting to be able to use my birthday reward. I was told by them that it was "too early" to use it even though I had already received two emails stating that the award was available. I tried calling Landry's several times and when I finally got through I was told that matter was being looked into. Well I was eventually able to use my reward but that still didn't address the issue. I called today months later and the person I was connected to had no problem telling me in so many words "oh well at least you got to use your credit". Then asked me what did I expect, they don't give credits. They consider the matter settled. That has to be some of the worst customer service I have ever encountered. The person wasn't rude but that policy is.

My complaint is before I even went to any of their restaurants. We were planning an overpriced birthday party for my daughter at the Rain-forest Cafe. I looked into the card. In FAQs it said your card will arrive in 10 business days. The party was in 2 weeks so it gave me plenty of time. After I paid online, it said my card will arrive in 2-3 weeks! I called to cancel and they told me( in a ### tone) it would take 2-3 weeks to refund my money. So I called American express about the fraud and they will take care of it. I will never patronize any Landry restaurants.

isn't it against the law to force you to sell those cards and punish you IF you don't sell them ? Can't the Dept of Labor do something about that?

I work for a restaurant owned by Landrys. I sell more apps, specials and deserts than any other server. My name has come up several times in rave reviews on dining websites from guests. I get requested on a nightly basis. I am NEVER late. I pick up the slack for other servers and entertain guests that aren't even mine! I love what I do and I love to entertain. Lately I have been losing shifts because I can't make people buy the Landrys select card. Believe me I mention it to every table because I need my job! When I can't sell them they plan to take shifts away from me. I don't deserve this. I can't make people spend $25 on something they flat out don't want! I can't pay my rent this month because of the loss in shifts! I have to look for a new job or get a second job because of this! Meanwhile This Tilman [censored] bag is flying around in his helicopter and cruising the seas in his humongous Yacht and if he docks at my place the diners have to wait for his yacht guests to be served before the actual restaurant guests get their food. They don't care about the guests and they don't care that I can't pay my rent! all they care about are these ### cards!

I took 2 friends to lunch at Fisherman's Wharf and the waitress told me they were having problems with their processing of my Landry's Select Card but that the POINTS WOULD BE ADDED. Well they weren't. I contacted the club and told them I no longer had the receipt but just a copy of my bank statement showing that I had used my debit card at that restaurant for the amount I claimed on that day. Sorry...

No more Landry's Tilman Fertitta establishments of any kind for me. Of course they won't even notice but my money goes somewhere else now. And THEY appreciate it greatly.
