We picked up our dog from Ladd Hill about 4 months ago. Everything had been great up until today. My 5 year old son bent down to pick up our puppy and he viciously bit my sons arm. We immediately contacted the breeders, and were blown away by their defensiveness. They blamed us, and said that we have behavioral issues in our house. The breeders have never been to our house, nor do they know anything about us. The staff was combative and accusatory. They threatened lawyers if we posted anything that spoke the truth. Well, the truth is, puppies will be puppies, and they are not immune to biting no matter what the breed. The staff at Ladd Hill needs to get on the same page with how they place their dogs. Massive miscommunication between the owner and her daughter. Please be cautious if you decide to use this underfunded establishment.

I had a similar experience with this breeder as well! She threatens lawyers if you say anything bad about her. She’s a bully, stay far away!

I found this post surprising as well! We have the sweetest little girl companion from Ladd Hill and couldn’t have asked for a better dog. Josie, the owner of Ladd Hill truly knows how to breed amazing dogs and provide incredible service. We couldn’t be happier.
I agree 100% with Samlam2019! If you have had the dog in your household for over 4months I find it odd to place the blame on the breeder. I agree that the behavioral issues are more than likely a product of the dogs environment rather than the breed of the dog. I’m not sure it is a great idea to let a 5 year old pick up a 6month old puppy, sounds like a disaster waiting to happen especially since this breed of dog is usually over 20lbs by then. We have three children in our household and we don’t even let our 9 year old pick our girl up. It is important as parents and dog owners to provide proper guidance for our children and puppies so that both the child and puppy are safe and instances like these don’t occur and scar both the child and the dog. Thank you Ladd Hill for our sweet girl!

I am surprised by this post. First of all, that does not look like a "vicious" dog bite. It looks like a scratch. Secondly, I have found Ladd Hill to be extremely ethical and very easy to work with. Josie's care and concern for her puppies is of utmost importance to her.

Puppies are not born knowing how to behave. They need to be taught. Yes, puppies will be puppies. That means we, the owners, have to train our puppies to know right from wrong. Don't blame the breeder because your dog isn't trained properly.
