Ishikawa Animal Hospital review: Yearly veterinarian visit

Since this post is about an animal clinic in Japan, this may not mean much to others, but I need to post this story. The trauma that my cat faced at this location is appalling. Coming to this pet hospital was the worst mistake I have ever made. First off, we have never had any past issues with any other veterinarians at other locations. Over the past 5 years my cat has had multiple blood draws, shots, and routine check-ups with no problems or complaints from the vets. Just yesterday I took my cat in to register at this new location and for a yearly blood draw to make sure she is healthy. When we got our cat back, we were told that they had issues with the blood draw and that she “might have lost a nail and that she may bleed later.” I was upset, but I was firstly concerned about my cat. I took her in the car to check her and was shocked by what I saw. She had three nails completely removed, blood on her paws and fur, and also swelling and bleeding in her mouth (this due to some cat face guard they improperly placed around her head). Needless to say, I was pretty livid. When I went back in to confront the doctor, he just kept making excuses about how the cat was acting wild and that they did what they had to do to complete the procedure. I couldn’t even get a straight answer when I asked him if he thought he should stop the procedure and try again another day instead of continuing with this dangerous situation. Not once did he apologize for what happened or even offer treatment to my bleeding baby. My wife and I had to bring up the possibility of infection and antibiotics for treatment…the doctor was perfectly fine just letting us pay and walk out the door with no assistance at all. I hope no one else’s pet has to experience this same trauma from someone who is supposed to be dedicated to helping animals. I wish I could go back and save my baby from this experience by choosing a different vet.
