Immuno labs told me back in 2010, that if they did allergy testing I would only be charged $355.00. If they were to file to insurance on my behalf they would bill insurance company $910, but my expense would only be $355. This was regardless if it was applied to deductible, co-insurance or if carrier did not pay at all. I was informed that this was the protocol because they had lost their contract with BC/BS. To further verify this NEW information I had contacted my physician’s office and they too were informed by their sale rep that this was correct.

So I stated to bill my carrier BC/BS. After my carrier processed the claim, which they only paid around $100, Immuno Labs started to send me statements each month for the balance of $455. I have called numerous of times, and was informed to disregard the bill because the adjustment has not been approved by manager. So it’s been over 5 months, and now I'm getting collection notices, so I called company again and spoke with a supervisor by the name of Shirley Jones. She was not very helpful and was very rude. She stated that I must have understood the policy wrong and that the balance would be due! Also in our conversation she stated that if I do not pay this bill, my account would be transferred to collections. To my shock and amazement I did not believe what she was telling me. Now you guys have lied not only to me but my physician’s office too!

If this was not the protocol stated to me I wouldn’t have gotten the test done for $910. The integrity of this company has definitely changed in my eyes. At this point my physician’s office has pulled out their business, due to many other patient complaints. Anyone out there looking to use this lab for food allergy testing, please be aware they to not practice what they preach.

@Truth2021

Hello! Yes my name is Chele and I came on last year as the controller. I spent almost 6 years at Ernst and Young as a CPA in their assurance practice, and my excitement and decision to join the Company was in knowing that I can drive change and improvement within our accounting department and billing processes. With the recent changes in health care laws (the Affordable Care Act and ICD-10), we have taken the approach to no longer directly bill insurance effective April 1, 2014. We hope that this eliminates some of the confusion and frustration that was expressed in the original comment above.
Patients will now be able to take our bill and submit to their insurance company for reimbursement along with information from their ordering physician.

Boone and I are both very committed to helping patients feel better, and to better serve our clients. We are both more than willing to assist with any questions.

@Truth2021, if you have specific concerns I am more than happy to speak with you to address them. Please give us a call at [protected] for more information.

@kenkide: I work with Immuno Labs in the marketing department. It appears that there was a miscommunication that led you to believe that when we bill insurance that you would only be responsible for the professional fees. We can not do that as a medical laboratory; once we bill to insurance you are responsible for the full charge that is billed to the insurance company. This has been a policy for as long as I have been at the company.

I am not the best person to assist you with this billing issue, but i am most concerned about how we can work together to improve your health. I am happy to assist as best as i can. My name is Boone and can be best reached by emaill: boonez@immunolabs.com
