It's Just Lunch (IJL) charges $3,000.00 to provide a match making service. They claim they would pair me with at least 12 men who meet my dating expectations (e.g. someone that's open to marriage, someone that is open to having a family, etc.) instead, I was paired with someone who turned out was 3 times homeless (was currently "crashing on friend's couch") - he stated that he was "in-between" jobs (aka, unemployed), he was an hour late to the date. He arrived via public transportation because he didn't have a car, the matchmaker had us meet at a nice steakhouse, my "date" ordered french-fries and water for dinner. (because he couldn't afford to buy himself dinner). I ended up paying for the date myself. He vented the entire duration of the date about how he is an orphan, that he is an only child, and has no support network locally. The second person they paired me with, again, did not meet the majority of the criteria I requested in searching for a potential partner, and he was never to be heard from again. This was months ago, I have not been matched with anyone since then.

They are not upholding their end of the contract. This is gravely disappointing and is unsatisfactory for a match making service who charges thousands of dollars to "match" their paying clients (me in this case) with a "suitable match / partner." Every person they've sent me as a potential date, did not meet any of the criteria was discussed in the interview process with the match maker (not asking much, just that they're open to marriage, family, have a career, and are financially independent). I have been passed from one match maker to the next, i'm up to 4 at this point. I keep having to repeat myself to each one of them of what my preferences are when it comes to being matched.

I think this company hires people who do the bare minimum to keep their jobs, they aren't vetting these men prior to putting their paying clients on a date with them which concerns me and my personal safety. Someone as unstable as my first date could have led to god knows what (rape, murder) etc. I hired a match making service to avoid running into issues like this.

They have not and are not upholding their end of the contract / agreement, they are not in keeping with their professed reputation or what they claim they can provide as a matchmaking service to paying clients. I am requesting a refund for wasting my time, wasting my energy, the emotional distress this has caused me, continuously being disappointed and for wasting thousands of dollars for a service they have not provided.

Desired outcome: A full refund.
