I was advertised that I prequalified for the refund advance. I desperately needed it. They make you file before you can apply for the advance. Therefore you can not use another company with easier access to the advance. I have plenty of money coming back in my refund with a very simple return. What is wrong in my opinion is that TurboTax offers the same with $0 down. HR Block charged me $150 just to be denied when I could have and did use the free TurboTax and got the same exact refund amount. Now I can’t use another company since the IRS accepted the return not allowing me to try to use another advance company application. What a scam. And now I will be out even more money with the fees to use the useless card I only wanted to access money early. I should point out that TurboTax has had errors with people not being able to access their personal info creating a loop that prevents you from completing the bank account through Credit Karma. This year is a waste of time and money to the customers.
Desired outcome: I would like another chance to apply with another company before you must file your return and have it accepted. This would allow you shop around and not get scammed into using a high fee card when you don’t want it to begin with.
