I am furious about what this owner of the car park at Horse City Gallop Stable said today. A little back ground. Late last Sunday night I went with my wife to Picotin at the area before the GrandStand just before the Old Turf City is located. To enter the car park to Picotin or the Rider's Lodge you have to enter the car park by inserting the cash card. We did that and after having a snack and drinks we left around midnight. The last thing we needed was to have the cash card stuck in the machine and the barrier did not open. Meanwhile a Malaysian car could not enter the car park too to go to the Lodge too. So I seek help from the Picotin staff who said they were not responsible for the car park system. They told that the owner operator for this exit "the Horse City" exit was Gallop Stable but their office is closed. There was no contact number on the machine and out of desperation I surf for the number of the only available name on the machine which says "Sun Japan (Singapore) Systems Pte Ltd at 47 Kallang Pudding Road. Someone answered the general line but said he was not responsible as its the operations people looking after such things and will call the persons down to help. after a long wait and having no other choice and no help from the "help" button, the staff from Picotin helped me lift up the barrier so that I can drive home. They took my particulars down and said they will contact the owners to call me today. No calls were made to me today at ll. so at about 5.30 pm I went to picotin to ask what the situation is and they staff did not inform the Gallop stables yet! The caucasian lady manger then said the uncalled for remark that they were not responsible for the barriers. This is not something that you would want to hear at to hear at this moment. Anyway the staff brought me to see the Gallop Stables and at the counter I had to explain the whole situation to a staff and he had to go into a back office to consult someone to give me a reply on my questions. Originally the answer was that they will contact the contractor to come check the machine and see of my cash card is still there or not. I asked him why couldn’t t be done now and why do I have to wait since they are the owner of the car park system? The staff went back to consult the mysterious person at the back office again. Next few minutes came this lady with straight black hair and I believe she is of Indian origin and sounded Singaporean. She said the system is managed by another operator and her staff will get back to me next day. I asked again why she cannot contact them now. They repeated the same reply and I asked why can’t they call their contractor there and then? She kept insisting that the system is maintained by their contractor and I told her that it’s their problem and not mine and they have the responsibility. Then she said I was hostile because I insisted that they call the contractor at that moment. I told them I have more than $130 in the card as I had just topped it on Saturday. She did to want to give me her name and went to her office again repeating that I was hostile. She was terribly unfriendly and I am wondering why they bother to have the riding stable business when they are so reluctant to accommodate a customer ?
I hope people reading this will tell me if I was out of hand or unreasonable to ask for the problem to be fixed and if this Gallop Stable lady Ms Shanki ? who refused to revel her name after I asked her few times should realise that she is supposed to cater to her customers whether at the riding school or parking at the car park. I hope the authorities in charge of car parking matters, LTA ? Can deal with such matters? I will email them and see what their response is.. “
