So, first of all, I have been playing this game for about four years now, so I can consider myself experienced with this game. What this game is about is you control an icon, and when you tap, the icon ‘jumps’. Note that you are constantly moving forward. There are different vehicles, like the ship, which goes up and down, the ball, which can change gravity as long as you are on the ground, the UFO, which when you tap the screen, it will ‘jump’, regardless if you are on the ground or not, the wave, which goes in a zigzag pattern and will crash if it collides with a block, the robot, which allows you to control how high you jump, and the spider, which will teleport to blocks above it. You can change what your icon and vehicles look like, and their color. There are also trails you can unlock, and death effects. Icons, vehicles and other items can be unlocked by completing items, achievements, or can be bought in the shop by using orbs. Note that there are no in-app purchases in this game. You can also create custom levels, but the editor is hard to get used to, so it may take you a few months to start creating good levels. Since update 1.9, you could add custom songs from Newgrounds as your level soundtrack, but be aware that there are no restrictions to inappropriate songs. Since update 2.0, you could create moving objects, change the transparency of objects, toggle objects and triggers on/off (changes whether some objects are in the level or not), and ‘spawn’ triggers to activate them regardless of position. Since update 2.1, you could create rotating objects, animate certain blocks, add count triggers, show/hide the player, and so much more! You can publish your level and players from around the globe can play it, as long as they have an Internet/Ethernet connection. If you are playing other people’s levels, be aware that non-featured levels may contain inappropriate language/pictures/songs, and RobTop can’t restrict them because there are too many, but you can report them. Also, if you are a parent/guardian, you may not want to let your child play this game until they are the age of ten, as the 2.0 update added messages between players and friend requests. If you don’t want your kids befriending potentially dangerous people, don’t make them a Geometry Dash Account, as Geometry Dash is slowly becoming more like social media. But if you are the kind of player that likes games that test your skill and patience, you should get this game.

Alright so number question you're probably asking yourself, "is it worth the money" yes. Definitely. Beautiful game. If you're coming from geometry dash lite(the free version but limited) it has absolutely no ads. None. But heres the catch. Unlike you can get the twitch icon, the discord icon, watch a short ad and get a free reward! Yeah.. you cant get that in geometry dash. That was added just for a test for the new update coming soon. But on the bright side, you can create you're own levels, you can play other creators levels, you can see the level of the day, the level of the week, (which is a demon) (if you dont know already a demon is the hardest difficulty ranging from easy demon to extreme demon. Extreme demons will take you months at the least to complete.but dont worry. The highest demon difficulty ever featured was a hard demon for april fools.) you can complete map packs and get rewards, quests and get rewards, exc. die in a level? Dont worry. Geometry dash full has a currency called "orbs" you can use them to buy new icons and new icons for new gamemodes. Theres gauntlets. Some are horrible, and some are amazing and fun. Wanna find you're friends level? Search it up by pressing the bottem right corner search button. Theres also a storyline telling a cool story about "the end of geometry dash" though its not complete, you can see the fanmade ones on youtube. Theres also new shops you can unlock but you need diamonds. You can get them from quests, gauntlets, dailys and weeklys, levels, pretty much anywhere. Once you have enough, you can buy even more new icons and icons from the communitiy and icons for gamemodes and icons made by the community for gamemodes.Also, if you press the play button, you will find all kinds of fun levels. If you're coming from the lite version, theres still fun for you! Theres still a bunch of new levels and even some demons by robtop. You'll have to complete some levels before you can unlock them though.also, the green diamond is practice mode, if you click on it, you will be put into practice mode. You can set checkpoints and when you die, instead of being sent to the beginning of the level, you'll be sent to the checkpoint. Though it doesnt count the level completed until you complete it in normal mode without checkpoints. This is all im going to say and i didnt really cover every single thing in geometry dash full, but theres so, so, so much more. Im just scratching the tip of the iceberg. All in all, its a very good game and its worth you're money. Theres so much to explore and you'll have so much fun. Thank for you're time, and good night. there are a LOT of people in the review section that have lots of bugs in their game, and the people who answer those problems with solutions always speak in broken, unintelligible english. so here are some bugs/glitches in-game that can be easily fixed.

1. taps don’t register sometimes

you just need to wipe your screen clean, our hands have oils on them that get all over the screen, which blocks the sensors from detecting you.

2. save account function doesn’t work

this is really common, and there are some sub-complaints that are also easily fixable.

all you need to do is save your account in the options screen. if it doesnt work, it means you have too many levels downloaded. just favorite all of the ones you don’t want deleted from your save, then try again. repeat if it doesn’t work the second time.

if you saved successfully, but it didn’t seem to keep your progress when you delete and reinstall the game, you just need to go to the save screen and load your account. simple.

3. diamonds are too difficult to get

not a bug/glitch, but it’s also just as common as the above two. here are some ways to get quick diamonds:

a. play easy/normal rated levels, they are the easiest way to get diamonds, orbs, coins, and demon keys. (you get demon keys every time you get 500 orbs; you don’t need to beat difficult levels)

b. getting coins, orbs, and stars from levels to complete your quests. remember to claim your rewards after completing them!

4. the editor doesn’t let me delete certain objects

you probably accidentally set your object deletion settings in the editor to “special.” change it back to “all.”

5. the editor doesn’t let me upload a level that I made

did you verify the level, collect all coins, and have a stable internet connection when you tried to? if so, just try again in a few hours or so, that works every time for me. RobTop’s servers also might have gone down. just try again in a little while.

6. my email fails when making an account

don’t worry, all you have to do is click on the email verification button, which should take you to boomlings.com, (lol rob what are you doing, just use geometrydash.com you OWN IT) and then you can go back to the game. try to make the account again, and it should accept your email. you could also make a new email and try using that instead.

7. I can’t move/select objects in the editor

That’s probably because you switched to another layer, just look in the bottom right corner of the screen and there should be two pink arrows and a blue arrow with a number between the pink arrows. just hit the blue arrow if the number is 1 or greater, and you’ll be able to select the objects again.

those are all of the main bugs/glitches/complaints that I’ve seen, so if I see any more, I’ll update this. also I really like this game and I never get bored of it. download it if you want, I’m not forcing you, but it’s fun. thanks for reading

I have been playing Geometry Dash for a while and I LOVE it! I got it around the time 2.1 came out and I am writing this while waiting for 2.2, I will update the review when It comes out. It’s challenging, fun, and very, very addicting.

PROS:
-Challenging, fun, and very, very addicting
-LOTS of rewards systems! Mana Orbs (the main currency), Secret Coins, User Coins, Shards of Power, and Diamonds. There are also demon keys, but they’re not really a reward system.
-Plenty of levels
-RubRub humor
-You can create your own levels!
-Lots of fun, eerie secrets that are discoverable in-game
-NO IN-APP PURCHASES! I know a lot of games that basically advertise an In-app purchase every five minutes. To have at least ONE GAME without in-app purchases is a miracle!
-No ads, though the spin-offs include some
-You can collect and unlock icons and colors, as well as buy them in the Shop, Secret Shop, and Community Shop (which has the very best icons!) using Mana Orbs
-You can play other people’s levels
-Several gauntlets and LOTS of map packs filled with the best of the community levels
-Daily Levels and Weekly Demons
-Daily Rewards (Two chests, a small one that unlocks ever couple of hours, and a large one that unlocks every day
-Featured and Hall of Fame levels, which are Guaranteed safe and not inappropriate
-You can find cool vaults filled with riddles, and the answer to the riddles are always codes you can enter. As I am writing this, there are three— The Vault, the Vault of Secrets, and the Chamber of Time. You get rewards for cracking codes, like colors, icons, and in one case a Secret Coin!
-You can be rewarded with Demon Keys, which you can unlock chests with. The chests have all kinds of strange things in them. There are three kinds of chests, one where you only need one key to open, one that has really good rewards but needs five keys to open, and one where you have to unlock a certain number of chests to open.
-Amazing music
-Developer, RobTop, is very nice
-You can friend creators
-Leaderboards for levels
-Achievements, which you earn icons from, as well as colors!

CONS:
-Some of the levels can have inappropriate content, which are not very fun to play. However, if you only play featured, hall of fame, map pack, and gauntlet levels, I don’t think you will come across any. If you do, be sure to report it!
-Some people hack :(
-In the comments, you can’t put in a lot of things, such as apostrophes and special lettering marks
-Some people upload levels with secret ways, so they can cheat and verify it that way
-As there were more updates added, it has become harder and harder to make your own levels. I have not been able to make a single good one! For some people, though, It’s very easy, so It’s probably just me being stupid :P

1.A new room you unlock once you free the monster in the basement!Enter it,you get a new little room,and then you can enter code in vault of secrets:True challenge(Need 600 diamonds to play it) which is like the challenge but even harder,and when you type it in,the keymaster should say: “How did you know it?” And when you complete it the keymaster will say “I can’t believe it...” “You beat my other secret level” “Alright,here’s the key” and then you use the key to open the cave!Once you enter it,there will two doors,one door which required a red key!And the guard from the vault appears and says “so you wanna get the red key eh,wrong,you have to clear the riddles of the demon gaurdian”!And then you enter the left door,once that happens,the demon gaurdian who could open the demon gauntlet(as mentioned if you tap demon gauntlet if locked) will say “Hello,I am the demon gaurdian,I have three riddles for you that you need to clear to get spooky‘s red key”! Then once you clear all three riddles,and tap the chest again,spooky(the gaurd) will say “You beat all those riddles”! “Because of that,here’s the red key!” And you get the red key,open the right door and potbor appears and says “Hey don’t tell rubrub,But I made a level and hid it here,I left a prize for you if you Clear it” and then you select the level in the room,which is called “Secret challenge” and once you clear it,a blue chest appears featuring a new robot,a new icon,a new ball,and a key which opens a new shop located in the chamber of time!Once you type in Mystery shop in the chamber of time,the gatekeeper will say “How did you find it” and then you tap the door and inside is small little cellar with a shop,and once you tap it,a new shopkeeper named “Carl” will say “Hello,hello,ah yes,I’ve been working on my shop for days,now you need 650 diamonds before I let you in!” Once you tap it again while it’s locked Carl will say “I said you need 650 diamonds before I let you in” and once you tap it again with 650 or more diamonds,Carl will say “You got those diamonds,please come in” and you enter the mystery shop and then a level appears in it called “Shop challenge” and once you tap it without the mystery shop key,Carl will say “I need the shop challenge key before you play my level” and once you have the key and clear the level,Carl will say “You beat my level!Awesome” and he gives you a blue chest containing 500 mana orbs & an icon!

First I wasted my money and made me want to throw my phone at the wall and break it plus this is just simply to difficult for some people and it didn't teach the basics on what was what and how to overcome it! The first level was way to hard to figure out and it took me forever to figure out what was what like when to jump and how to use the game and how to jump or anything like that! This game was terribly made and I don't even know why people would buy a scam like this! It's 2$! It should be free! I feel I wasted my money on this so if anyone wants to know if they should buy this then I say no you shouldn't because it's not even close to a well made game and isn't fun for those that aren't able to process ever little thing that shows up in a blink of an eye. I believe that of they made this with like training steps the game would be easier but I'm not saying me I mean I beat the game fast but I know a good game when I see it and this isn't the one someone had suggested the game to me and I was a bit scared to buy it just because of things that make it terrible so really people read this and think about the free one first because it truly to me is a waste and simply to difficult for people that can't process things fast... Geometry dash is a wonderful game, from some of the absolutely jaw dropping community levels, the constant desire to improve and beat the hardest levels, and just the sheer amount of creativity that can be expressed in this game alone. Geometry dash truly is a great game, especially for a single developer to make.

But with everything that’s happening recently, the game literally not even working anymore, the community as a whole, and the lack of updates. This game has lost all of its magic. Robtop really needs to step in to all of this, fix these problems with some actual work rather than sleeping 24/7 and lying to us, and make the effort to give some actually useful communication to the community. Until then, I URGE YOU, that WE SHOULD ALL rate this app 1 star or if you haven’t bought the game, save your money. I hope by the end of this review that you are convinced and agree that Robtop needs to do better. Please upvote this review if you think the same way.

#1 Game doesn’t load on IOS devices.
The biggest issue of the game right now. The game LITERALLY doesn’t even work on an entire platform. It is LITERALLY a WASTE OF MONEY. And yet what do we get from Robtop? NOTHING. NADA. 0. No effort to try and communicate, no apology. NOTHING. Zero effort and an example of pure laziness. Even if Robtop can’t fix the game right now and we will have to wait 6 more years for 2.2, why hasn’t he AT LEAST said something about the issue? Save your money and do not buy this game until Robtop does something. You want to know what this is? SCAMMING. This is literally like a scam. Please, if you feel Robtop can do better, again, upvote this review. How? You hold this review and tap “helpful”.

#2 No sound on IOS
If the game does work for you, then good. But you won’t get any sound. I’ve tried headphones, wireless headphones, speakers… Nope. No sound. Geometry dash is literally a music game. Why can’t we freaking hear the sound? Why isn’t this issue fixed already, why does Robtop just let these things go on for a year, more than a year? And what does he do, NOTHING. ZERO COMMUNICATION TO US. Please, fix this game.

#3 Pays attention to the wrong problems
No sound on IOS, doesn’t work on an entire platform, but what does Robtop focus on. “cOiN ISSuE iN lEvEl. mUSt fiX.” Is this the developer we have? One that not only ignores the REAL problems but is stupid enough to focus on something else. There is no excuse. Robtop needs to do better.

#4 Lies to us on a daily basis
“2.2 is coming out in 1 month, 2.2 will be out in 1 week.” 4 years later. Nope. Not even a speck of evidence it’s coming out any time soon. You literally can’t deny, Robtop lies to us about the time of when things come out on a daily basis. For those who support Robtop, is this you y’all want? A lying developer who does it every day. You literally have no excuses.

#5 Garbage level rating system.
The GD level rating system is completely garbage, and most of the community can agree on this. But again, Robtop has shown no communication, no sign of interest or disinterest, and refuses to do anything.

A successful developer interacts with the community, fixes problems quickly, and keeps the game fun and enjoyable. Robtop has done, NONE of this. What you need to do, is rate this game 1 star. Upvote this. And urge Robtop against the laziness he has shown.

I’m answering all of the critical reviews I’ve seen. I know this game through and through, so I’m here to answer all the things people are complaining about. (There are ten I’m answering)

1. Lag. So many people complain about Gd lagging, or exiting the game, when they play levels. That is because your DEVICE is too slow, not the game. Most iPads simply can’t handle the power it takes to run some levels of the game itself. Some phones can’t either. It could be that your phone could have a fault, or it’s just an older device.
It is not Robtop’s fault, it is your devices. For the first 12,000 stars of my career, I played on an iPod 6 Gen. It took levels with over 160,000+ objects to make it lag.

2. Levels too hard. Seriously, stop complaining about the levels being too hard. Robtop is not going to nerf the existing levels to be easier. You will just have to get better.
Skill is like an exponential curve. You start slowly, it takes some time to get your thing together, you can’t expect yourself to beat all the levels instantly. It was three months between when I started the game and went I beat Base after Base. I didn’t play often back then, and it was a another month until I even beat can’t let go. Again, I only played like twice a week back then, but your brain needs time to get synchronization and timing down. So I got better and better and was ready when I started playing more. Don’t expect much when you first start to play. I beat every official level with every coin months ago. The level are not too hard. Of course, I didn’t beat Electroman Adventures till I had six demons and around 1500 stars. Here’s a tip, if you want to get better, and get better stats in the process, play user levels. Start out with easy and normal, and work your way up. I took a break from TOE, Electroman adventures, and Time machine for two months. Came back and beat them in ten attempts. Pretty simple.

3. Raging. Why do people have this problem? Sure, I may let out a groan or sigh every once in a while, but throwing your device? Learn to control yourself. When I still played on iPod, I was sitting still, with good posture, relaxed and calm, all focus on the game. When I play on computer, I’m fully relaxed with my hands resting on the mouse and the keyboard, all focus on the game. If you feel like you can’t control your anger, then don’t bother with the game. If you are but stick to it, you’ll become more patient. The collective attempts to beat every official level with all coins for me was 15,000+ attempts. Of course, I played lots and lots of user levels outside of official levels, and my attempt count total at the time was closer to eighty thousand. Currently I’m at around 250,000 attempts, and 2 million jumps. Patience.

4. The update. Yes, it has been three years since the last update. But saying the game is ‘terrible’ and ‘boring’ when in most cases you’ve played the game for a month is more of mob psychology then your opinion. Rob is adding a lot of things in the update. He has a lot of bugs to fix. He has a life outside the game. Of course it’s going to take time. There are literally so many things to do in this game. Chill. :)

5. Bugs
This game has some bug, yes. A lot of reviews are complaining about Clubstep. It isn’t bugged. It’s just hard. It’s not buggy if it’s lagging or your jumping through places, that’s your device that’s wrong. I never had those problems. Deadlocked teleport? That’s because you’re tapping to early. You have to tap later in order to go through the portal regularly. And as for a lot of the level editor bugs, just use the undo button. Is the screen white? Go to the settings in the level editor, and check “preview mode” on, its on the left side. That gets bumped occasionally. Any other bugs in official levels are your device, not the game.

6. Luck. There is no luck involved in this game. Just skill and synchronization. If you’re lagging a lot on the basic levels, maybe there is some luck involved, but if you’re device is acting like that, playing gd on it isn’t for you.

7. Icons. Why are you asking for more? There are more then plenty of them. Even I haven’t got them all. I have all but two cubes, all but one ship, all but one ball, all but two ufos, all of the waves, all of the robots, and all but one spider. I have one death effect left to get, and all of the trails. I have 100s in all shards, and I cleaned out the shops with 180,000 mana orbs to spare, back when I had 10,000 stars. Life is but a dream.

8. Purposely evil. No, this game is not purposely making you rage. You are either being overdramatic and shouldn’t play, or are simply taking it too far. Seriously, relax. Not all your attempts are 95+% crashes (I’ve certainly had my fair share, 97% on Clubstep and 96% on Theory of Everything 2, just to name a few ;)
Then it might be fine to go off. But I don’t screen and throw stuff; when that happens I
1. Say “oh my god” and lean back with my eyes closed, or
2. Let out a yelp and a grimace, at the most. Most of the time it’s just a sigh. Now, when you beat something important, those reactions are more fun. Sometimes it’s better to focus on the small victories then all your losses.

9. Everything is confusing. Look up tutorials on how to use the level editor. Don’t rate this one star before you even tried to figure stuff out.

10. Accounts. Yes, it is advisable to create your account before you start playing. Save your data often. Don’t hit the load button unless you’re completely certain what you’re doing. Do research on how to work this before your start spamming the buttons.

The official rob top levels are so easy, you just don’t want to put in. Time because you all want instantly gratification also, who cares if sakupen he’ll and bloodbath are levels. Do you literally see any little kids With the skill to beat those levels? No! If your children can’t beat any hard levels, don’t ruin it for people who can. And roptop, never remove demons, they are what make this game great. Just because people have no skill and can’t beat them, doesn’t mean you have to remove them. Streamers on YouTube like npesta and dorami etc.. grind for months and years to beat really hard levels. Don’t let their effort go to waste because of people no stink at the game, and want to ruin it for everyone else who actually have skill. Ur game is awesome and never remove demons I’m sorry if I sound rude because I don’t mean to be, but instead of putting bad review, improve

from the words of a former player: Do NOT buy this game. It is a trap. The developer is a lazy hypocrite. He does not live up to what he says, in other words he can't get ANYTHING done. Before he announced the update for 2.1 in April, I thought good of him. But after that, I lost all respect for him. He has explained multiple possible releases for the update. He has not done one. He even "guaranteed" that the update would be out by the end of November. Braking News! It is December 18, not even one thing was said about the update not being released. He has had multiple "excuses" for the update not coming out, but you would think a YEAR and 4-5 months would be enough time to release one update, if not more. Anyways, I am warning you, if you want extreme frustration then waste $1 on this game. Otherwise, I would not recommend this game to anyone. Thank you so much if you read all the way to here. -DM

Thanks i love this game! But... Being a lvl creator in geometry dash (this is my moms apple account not mine so don't freakout my mom isn't a lvl creator) I've been trying to make tons of levels with the move setting but randomly one of my move objects moved way behind the line and off the iPad's screen when ever i access the created level. So what I do is I press the button that allows you to play the level in the editor mode and pause the icon in the middle of the level. So, the move setting block moves the object back on the screen were I can edit it to make it stay on the screen where I can touch, sounds confusing but if you can understand that would be great. but the worst part is that new lvls that I make have the same problem as well, now with more move setting objects, means more jumping objects back off the screen and eventually I can only move so many objects back on the screen and now objects are starting to have a mind of their own i am forced to delete my best levels. PLEASE FIX!

First off, let me just say that your gonna have a problem if you don't have rhythm, but thats not the issue here. The issue is that you will spend countless hours playing this game. I know thats what most of you are wanting in a new game, but let me just say that with all my heart. I have been playing this game all summer, don't get me wrong its fun as hell, but after beating every single level you realize you didn't need it. Thats right, I know what your thinking. Theres no way he beat every single level, but I did, and I stand before you to say it will leave you off in rage after rage after rage, but back for more. Maybe you won't beat every level. Maybe you won't get insanely good. But take it from an expert at Geometry Dash. Please don't download I'm sorry if the creators find this offensive, or bad for their fame, but don't let it ruin you. What is up with ANY good reviews on this? I had it downloaded for less than 5 minutes because it is quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever downloaded. And I've downloaded a LOT of garbage.

From what I can tell you are basically a Sprite that is moving on a landscape, you touch the screen and hope that you jump. But in reality, the interface is so pants-poopingly stupid that you're lucky if it works half the time. People talk about the game being challenging and I assumed that meant it had well thought out gameplay. You had to put some actual thought into what you were doing.

Nope!

It's just that the interface is so unusable that you play every level over and over (and over) again, hoping against hope that it works. (Spoiler alert - It won't). Shame on all the [censored]s whose reviews made me waste time and money on this.

If you are NOT a [censored] and need something besides bright lights and noises while you mindlessly mash the screen hoping it works - Stay away.

But if you're a complete idiot, by all means - Hours of slack jawed drooling await you with this.

Next, why do you need our email, you make a account that should just be a username. thats why i cant upload my levels! And i almost made my account, but this game said that it sent it to our inbox. We dont have an inbox AND IF THERE EVEN IS A EMAIL THATS AVAILABLE JUST MAKE THE STUPID ACCOUNT! YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE AN ACCOUNT WITHOUT AN EMAIL AND YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO UPLOAD LEVELS WITH NO ACCOUNT IT WOULD JUST SAY PLAYER FOR THERE NAME JEEZ. The game is amazing, and I cannot wait for 2.1, but there are many problems with the game, and are really making me angry. The first one is a simple fix, but takes a lot of time. Deleting all hackers from the game. This IS a simple task, but there are so many hackers that it will take as long as a year, or even longer. People are being hacked constantly, and I don't want to be hacked. The second problem is that I upload levels and they keep being deleted. This has happened many times and that is actually the main reason I made this, because one of my levels (which was really hard) got deleted four times, and every time I had to verify it again. The third reason is that robtop is taking FOREVER to make 2.1. I know that there will be major changes, a new game mode, new orb, and more, but it shouldn't take almost 2 years to do. He has put at least 4 deadlines so far, and none of them came true. If this isn't done by march, I will make another review, which will be one star. I like this app, but it is a shame that there are so many bugs and glitches, and more problems, in geometry dash. Sorry for the long post, so here's a cookie

This game has a good concept, nicely finished controls, and a polished look and style. I also like the variety of movement. The problem that makes this game virtually unplayable is it does not have save points in the normal run through of the game.

This means every time you make a mistake you have to start at the beginning of the level. The end result being you play the exact same sections of the game hundreds of times until you can get through the entire level.

In the end this game is far less about timing and reflexes and much more about memorizing when to jump. The funny thing is each level is already broken up into natural breaks that would be ideal as save points. There is a practice mode but who wants to beat the game on practice.

Not having save points artificially increases the difficulty enormously. Most runner type games have dozens or hundreds of levels, but this has about ten.

There is also a peculiar quirk where the game tracks how many attempts and how much time it takes you to complete a level. But since it takes less than 2 seconds to leave the level and come back you can easily make every attempt your first attempt.

Don't get me wrong though...I LOVE the music but the lvls are so freaking impossible!

Also the last two breakable blocks to get to the first coin in Electroman Adventures are glitched...they act like normal blocks: as soon as I touch them they kill me... I know how to get it but...I NEED that coin! Also there is a glitch where I uploaded a video to YouTube and it didn't actually upload to YT!?!? I NEED the video on my channel! ROBTOP I WANT MY REPLAY OF ELECTROMAN ADVENTURES ON MY YT CHANNEL RIGHT NOW! I am almost to the point of sueing you guys for these 100+ GODDAMN GLITCHES! I played this since I was SIX I have no creator points. I had 2 not rated levels and I can’t make levels anymore. I can still search levels but when I searched my second level “Life Begins” It was deleted. I’m trying to kick my addiction out of my list. Because of me banned when I’m 6. Now I’m almost 8 very mad at the developer because of bans. Leaderboards won’t update and even my 5 year old Bethany in not on my leaderboard. Everytime I went on Game Center leader board it never loaded. I wish I wasn’t banned even though I’m very young and one person ahead of me and everybody else in the geometry leaderboard is far up older than me. My leaderboard never updated. So I’m a literal ant and farther is a snake. People call me the worst player on the game and I felt so done with this game. Please unban me. Now I played this for 2 years and I only experienced… NOTHING THAT MADE ME FELL BETTER. I’m trying to take a break from geometry dash until everything that made me feel worse and very banned from life even though I was nice... When I went back to uploading levels everytime I was going to upload it always said “Something went wrong. Please try again later.” Like a million years later I went to upload again AND IT SAID THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER AGAIN. 20 attempts of me doing the same thing it crashed my game and my whole body felt like an ant. Roptop please respond. My body was 100% frustrated. And soon I began to notice that everyone in the global leader board had 400+ stars and I was so confused because almost all of them had 0 diamonds. I think I broke the record for being the most sore loser in the game and had to be very lonely in a game. Every game I played. No one would play with me. I am very smart but called a loser. Every time I went to upload and fail from the ban I would say UNBAN ME I’M TOO YOUNG TO BE BANNED. 1 month later I have had ENOUGH OF the ban. Roptop needs to forgive me and unban me. I have been banned for more than a year.

I'm a fan of rage games, strangely enough. I've surpassed the first level of the Impossible Game, both Xbox and IOS, I've gone through all of Cat Mario, and have tried out games such as Flail and IWBTG, including some tough games less than known.
Geometry Dash tried to be a good rage game. It is hard, but fails to deliver with a proper "one life" mechanic. The game is like Impossible Game, but much less fair.
While the idea of a game harder than the Impossible Game sounds appealing, it isn't. The only reason this game is harder is because it has IWBTG and Unfair Platformer-like deaths. In the middle of a round, Geometry Dash throws new things at you with no explanation. While in some games it might work, Impossible Game spinoffs cannot use it due to the one life mechanic.
But this isn't what ruins the game. The bad part of the game is how impossible it is to beat in a single try. A good rage game makes you angry because you keep failing at the same stupid trick or jump. In a good game, like the Impossible Game, you die not because you were unprepared, but because you didn't time your jump right.
In Geometry Dash the most deaths are caused by the overly complicated portals. There are portals in the game that transform you into a ship, or flip gravity, or a couple of other things. Not only does the game spam them, but there is absolutely no way to tell which portals will flip you or turn you into something else, meaning you will almost always be killed by not knowing what a portal does. Other than the portals, there are jump pads and air jumps that you can never prepare for, and to top it all off the game randomly changes color, meaning that you can expect something new when you see a purple circle instead of a yellow one, but it was still an air jump that was impossible to time during your first playthrough.
All in all, Geometry Dash is an average game that made itself too complicated. I'm sure the level building mechanics are okay, and the allow players to make more balanced levels (which won it an extra star from me), but the game is unfair to the point where dying isn't a fun addition, making beating levels less appealing and more of a hassle that you can never be ready for.

You start playing the game, you realize how fun and challenging it can be. But here I am, about to drop some bombs for your hopes of trying to beat the harder levels and why the game is the way it is.

To start with, the game lags a whole bunch. So if you ever have one of those “confident” days and you are sure that you’re going to beat a hard level, something always goes wrong. Yep, it lags. Which will discourage your confidence and increase more rage in your veins because you got your hopes up thinking you would beat that hard level. If I’m being honest? This game doesn’t even have servers, it’s a solo game, and even games back then on mobile never lagged this much. (Just stating this here, I was playing Theory of Everything 2 after practicing for a whole month and today was my “confident” day, and I had this feeling I was going to beat it with a calmed mentality. Turns out the game was lagging a tiny bit, tried not to let it get to my head, and I managed to get to 89% before my game froze for 2 seconds and respawned me after, and I have never felt so horrible because of that major lag. I was so close to beating the level until it froze my game.)

Another thing, a majority of the player base has been waiting for quite some years for the 2.2 version and it’s a waging war between GD 2.2 and GTA 6. Yeah believe me, this game isn’t as popular as the GTA series so this waiting game can stop now. Honestly. I have a few expectations for when 2.2 releases and it’s pretty valid. Once 2.2 drops, it’ll become unplayable due to so many new features added to the game making it lag 3 times worse than it already does, so if anything, it’s not a good idea to keep adding more features to the game. That would require a lot of work and updates before the game even starts to slow down on the lagging issue. Major drop to the player base.

Last but not least, there are either a bunch of problems making death imminent intentionally with misplaced or broken pieces of the levels, or it just seems like some levels were given the bare minimum effort to make it possible to complete. I have failed in so many places that I shouldn’t have (such as glitching under a gravity pad, floating out of bounds, etc.).

Oh and for the lag issue, if the base levels created by the game developer themselves had low detail mode, that would fix the lagging issue because of how much detail was put into a level.
