Damage my spec frame, retain my spec and did not wanna return or compensate me!!
Bought a Prada sunglass at a opposite shop across FOCUS POINT (Holiday Plaza, Johor) and brought it to FOCUS POINT to change the eyeglass to a tinted prescription lens. On collection, they hv scarred the frame and the workmanship of the prescription lens were terrible. I pointed to the salesperson the damage they hv done to the frame & the problem with the lenses. She apologise & said that they might hv scratch it while trying to fit the lenses into the frame & go on to explain how difficult it is to dismantle and fit the new lenses into such a big angulared frame. I sat there for about 30mins while she tries to dismantle the lenses to attempt to fix it and figure how to repair the scratches they made. She finally says that she will send it to their other shop to fix it and I sld come back later to collect it later since the technician is not available now. I return in the evening, they did not do a thing about the lenses & use a permanent black marker to cover the scratch marks. I was really unhappy, but kept my cool and ask if there is anyone who will be responsible here. She shove in her "boss"- Ricky Chong. I only ask what do they intend to do about the damage and the lenses, and he immediately ask that I produce a receipt for the frame. I was puzzled and did not understand why the need for my receipt? I did not ask for them to compensate me for the frame at all. He explained that he (FOCUS POINT) has so many shops in Malaysia and orders huge order from the Prada sunglass supplier and therefore could ask them to exchange the same frame to me. I produce the receipt to him & left the shop, thinking that he needs time to settle the problem. After a few hours, the retail shop owner whom I hv bought the spec from called and said that Mr Chong approach him and asked him to mediate the matter, accuse him of falsifying a receipt with exaggerated amounts, & that the spec cldn't hv worth that much and the pdt is a fake according to his checks with his supplier (but it was about 6-7pm then, I wonder how he managerd to chacked with anyone?) and threaten that he will make a police report. I told the retail shop owner that it was actually not his fault and I hv no idea why FOCUS POINT called him at all? I called back Mr Chong. He says he will look into the matter and report to Prada supplier & make a police report for "my sake" to rectify the problem. I was angry and berated him since it is my spec, I sld decide what I wanna do with it, & if what he says is true, I sld b the one to go after the one who sold me the spec. Mr Chong sld only let me know what he intents to do abt the damage and the subquality lenses he supplied. I told him, that he can buy the spec over & refund me for the lenses, then he can do whatever he wants with it. He totally ignore what i have said, evaded the topic about the things he sld be responsible for & insist that he will go after the seller of the spec, much to my disagreement. I told him to just return my spec, put back the original lenses and refund me the lenses instead. He refused. He demanded that I gave him a few days to settle the problem "for me". I told him that, it is not my problem, I did not cause it, he/ FOCUS POINT is the one that cause the problem. If they are not technically endowded to do the work, they should just let me know and cancel the order. Instead, they hv forced their ways on the frame, damaged it and the new lenses are not acceptable at all with the raw glass edges exposed & distorting the structure of the frame. About 3 months from the day of the incident, he still refuses to return me the spec nor wants to compensate me. Now he says the spec is no longer with him as he gave it to the Prada supplier to lodge a report. Everytime I approach him, he will threaten me with taking down my particulars and address, etc... which I feel uncomfortable to give to him after the bad experience I had. He did not gave us the police report nor the report he lodge with the supplier. Subsequently, I mention the incidents to some shops when shopping again at Holiday Plaza and everyone told me about the bad reputation of FOCUS POINT and that I was just another one of the unluncky clients & told me that I will neither see my spec or my money again.
