This all started in August of 2025. Because of financial crisis I could not keep up with me mortgage payments on my VA loan. I contacted PHH Mortgage the servicing representative of First Federal Savings. I also was in contact directly with a representative of First Federal, David Guerra beginning in January 2025. FFS gave me advice to work with PHH to reformat the loan. In December 2024 I submitted the forms to PHH to reform the mortgage. They told me that I returned the paperwork late and turn it done. In April 2025 they made me the same offer. I got my ex wife to sign the package, had it notarized, then I made the mistake of returning the package to the wrong address at PHH. The representative advised me that I had to redo the package and send it to the correct address. Both addresses were for PHH offices. Approximately two weeks later I was informed that I didn't sign my middle name and rejected the new package. In May 2025 I had to complete another (duplicate) package and have it notarized with MY complete name (Including my middle name). All this time I was in communication with David at First Federal. Last week the paperwork was accepted by PHH to reform the mortgage. I them contacted First Federal who had been telling me for months that when this was done They could immediately refinance to pay my ex wife her share of the home value. FFS then told me that the way PHH had has reformed the mortgage I would have to wait 210 days to refinance. I did everything they had asked of me but now I will have to sell the property to satisfy my exwife. I was upset and asked the agent for First Federal why he had not told me about this and if something could be done. At that time the agent for First Federal blocked my phone number and would not return my calls. Today I spoke to that agent's supervisor who was very nice but told me that his hands were tied. I have a Masters in Business and have worked with may banks in ding business. I have never had the misfortune of working with, in my opinion, such a disorganized organization in my life. Nor a banking organization with such rude disregard for their customers. Now I am forced to sell my house to satisfy my ex wife in a very down market and may lose thousands of dollars. Their lack of professionalism, disorganization and regard for their customers welfare is in my opinion, stunning. I would strongly advise anyone looking for a mortgage to give them a wide berth.
Recommendation: STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. They in my experience have no sense of responsibility toward their customers
