Federal Tax Law Group review: Did not complete any of the services we hide them for

We hired Federal Tax Law Group in 2023 and paid $6,595 for their services. In the beginning, communication was reasonable. However, as time went on, we began receiving letters from the IRS. When we contacted the firm, we were repeatedly told to disregard the notices and assured the situation was being handled.
In late 2024, we received a letter from the IRS stating that our account had been placed in special collections. We attempted to reach out to Federal Tax Law Group, but our calls and emails went unanswered. Concerned, we hired another attorney, only to discover that none of our tax filings had been submitted — despite the promises made and the large sum we had already paid.
In 2025, the firm finally reached out, claiming they had been trying to contact us. This is completely false — we have phone and email records proving otherwise. When we requested a refund, we were initially offered $2,200, then $3,800. Neither amount is acceptable, considering the lack of service and the stress their negligence caused.
We have since filed complaints with the BBB and the California State Bar. Federal Tax Law Group currently has 74 complaints with the BBB and holds only a B rating.
It is incredibly disheartening to see a legal firm take advantage of people in vulnerable situations. Please be cautious if you are considering doing business with this company
