Family Island — Farming game Good enough to play, bad enough to write a complaint lol

I like this game, but it has a lot of cons. I just want to let the devs know in case they feel like changing it.
1. Everything takes a long time to make, and everything takes a lot of stuff to upgrade. Right now to upgrade my house I think it requires 40 bricks? Or something like that. One brick takes like 40 minutes to make. So to upgrade my house will probably take me weeks, unless I play the game 12 hours a day ( I don’t)
2. Gathering resources takes so much energy. To gather from a big tree or rock basically uses up the whole bar of energy, and gives you like five resources, which is enough to make one item. The energy takes over an hour to replenish so I can only gather a little at a time. You can get more energy by eating food, which is very useful, but that too you have to make with resources, so if you don’t manage your cooking schedule you’ll end up with no energy anyway.
3. It feels like there is ALWAYS an event happening, with three more queued up after that. The event only last like three days so it’s impossible to finish them without paying money. And honestly I already have my home island quests, plus five other islands to finish that I will never have the energy for if I keep doing the events! Events are fun, but it would be nice to get like a break maybe? 24/7 events are just exhausting.
4. The pop ups are incredibly annoying. They come out of nowhere and are so in your face. I’d be ok with once a day, when I first open the app, but it seems to happen more that that. Plus if you accidentally highlight a chest when you don’t have a key BOOM “out of keys? Buy some more!” Like no, I didn’t even mean to click on that, I’m free to play and I always will be so if you want me to keep watching your ads please stop shoving the shop in my face please.

All in all this is a game I really like but get tired of quickly because of these issues.

Family Island — Farming game 4⭐️ and it makes sad that it’s not 5⭐️

I would give this app 5 stars but I would be lying because I do have just a couple very little issues with the app. The first issue is of course energy. Although you guys do give a very nice amount of free energy and there are great ways to get more energy through other things like food, certain objects you win from other islands, and through social media links. (Thank you for that by the way) it take a significant amount of energy to do things on the island and to chop down certain things or to get enough resources to craft things so all that free energy gets wasted I feel like and it can get expensive to keep buying energy because of how fast you have to use it to play. So it would be nice to have resources and other things on the island to not have to use so much energy so that we could maybe play a little longer and be more willing to purchase more energy. The second issue I have is rubies and keys. I think you know what I have to say about those…….. yes they are very hard to obtain and it takes way way more of them to do things. It would be nice to have objects that we win from other islands that generate rubies for us like we do for energy or maybe not have to use so many rubies to purchase things like dynamite and other resources. Last issue is a petty one but it would be really nice to be able to rotate buildings to have them be able to face different directions. I feel like it would be easier to set up my island the way I would like to have it set up and for buildings to face the directions I wish they could. Other than all that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY FAMILY ISLAND AND MY LITTLE FAMILY that I take care of I enjoy playing the game and competing in the events and look forward to finding new objects to take back to my island and the prizes you win throughout the even are exciting to receive as well. THANK YOU so much for a great game and for allowing me to be part of your family island!

Family Island — Farming game Too Expensive, Multiple Issues

It takes far too long to get through the game with the meager energy points it gives. If you play, you loose resources and they just tell you, eventually it will show up. Continually freezes up and has gotten very boring. I have spent plenty on this game to get no farther because everything requires so many energy points. Good luck ANYONE GETTING a baboa tree without paying for the energy points. 5/21 Update: after 3 festivals, and now on the last one before I quit the game. I am currently in a festival that will end in a few hours. First place winner is 4000 points above me. In order to get this and be first, I would have to spend a lot more money than my $60 to beat winner for this festival . I also figured out that in order to be first, It would take 450+ jewels. Look at the price for that. I also see that they seemed to like small buyers alot more by offering knowing they will never win. I played Klondike for yr and the energy points needed to work through puzzle was high but not like this game. It is fun. I love graphics. I am spending too much on this game trying to get nowhere and done. Deleted. I have better things to do. UPDATE: IF YOU DONT HAVE A SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNT YOU ARE JUST OUT OF LUCK IN GETTING EXTRA PRICES. I HAVE LOST EMERALDS FROM PACKAGES, ENERGY POINTS FROM PACKAGES I paid for. Did not get a merchant gift not o long ago. Unless you spend money on this game, forget opening chests. You won’t be able to get enough keys. So now I play Klondike, Atlantis, Bermuda, and family tribe to get the amount of play I want instead of paying these crooks. This is the community moderators fault and I spect a reply for why your people refuse to give me my gifts when they go missing.

You want a game that does not rip you off, actually gives more gifts and I have never had to play with money?. And they do not require you to be a part of social media in order to get gifts like this
They are making a killing. Not from me.

Family Island — Farming game Great Game Horrible step up

My wife and I both downloaded and have been playing it. It’s seamlessly easy and relaxing to play. Zero glitches and the stories are even entertaining but you have failed to make it appealing to someone who can’t afford to pay!
The tasks are reasonably set up for your quests that come up. The major turn off and down side is the rate of recovery on energy vs the amount you can accomplish. At this rate it would take years of play for the casual gamer. The last I of ability to set up auto functions while away, the extreme energy cost to do simple tasks are ridiculously expensive in comparison to the return you get. I’m mean 12 energy to harvest a small plant and you get 3-4 things. Same with the sticks and rocks. 2-3 things for that amount of energy is not conducive to keeping people enticed. And it i takes 139 energy to breakdown a portion of something. Three stage breakdown of items with pittance in return is counterproductive for the energy expended.

Great concept, great game, unfairly tuned to the pay to play market. This is not a happy medium. If the fountain or bathroom returned more energy at a interval rate it would be an offset. If the energy recovery wasn’t minutes per point it would be more enticing. I mean come on, I fed the chickens atleast 20 times each to get one feather for the broom quest. Three days of feeding to get one feather is a little excessive.

We like the game but if you want people to be enticed there’s got to be a better balance between cost of energy or you have to increase the rate of return to allow you to do more than you can with just 72 energy . It’s gone in two minutes to wait for an hour plus to have it back. 2 minutes to recover 1 pt of energy?! Dude that’s excessive.
Look at war and order. Good model. I’ve been playing for years and I occasionally purchase items because it’s a fair return and value. You prices are insane for what you sell. The value vs what’s received are on par with being more expensive than gold! In WAO 19.95 buys 30 days of enhanced play, 10k in gems, a scheduling cue for tasks and additional perks.

Family Island — Farming game garbage game

if I were to describe this game in a single word I would probably pick “stingy!”. energy gains are slow and your energy cap is low... you will run in to things that take anywhere from 2x to 4x+ the max amount of your energy cap. upgrading your house will increase the cap, but giving you 3 more when you need 70 more to get rid of a tree doesn’t help much at all. upgrading the house gets more and more expensive of course, so it can’t be done very quickly. also, if you actually spend money and clear out space in you home to plan out your decorations and building placements, trees will respawn, fully grown, and when you cut down trees, you are frequently left with stumps which you need special golden tools to get rid of. how do you get the golden tools? well, spend money on deals of course! you may find some in chests but they will never be enough compared to how many you will need. also, the rewards for watching ads are pitiful! 1 single gem for watching an ad... seriously?! all this and I haven’t even touched on the serious balance issues this game has! certain workbenches are far over utilized and others far under utilized... this means 1 work bench in particular is always going to be a bottleneck! you have to make scrapers with it, because scrapers are used in far too many other things... but it also makes the hammers and knives, so in order to make hammers and knives you won’t be making scrapers which means you will come to a standstill at other workbenches like the sawmill which requires scrapers for the main things you make there! there are NPCs that will give you things if you give them enough of an assortment of items... this will just serve to bottleneck you further because you will need a lot of the things they want, and in the case of the shaman, you have no choice but to fill the orders because thats the only way to get other things you need!

so basically... even though the app store is infested with garbage games, this one seems
to have put in a lot of effort in to being king of the trash heap! I’m sure there are worse ones out there... but they tried!

Family Island — Farming game Play everyday but VERY FRUSTRATING

I will start with the “bad” - it is addictive even though you are very stingy with energy. I should start with 150-200 ENERGY. Why? Well, many MANY resources require double to triple the 75 energy you get until you build your house up. Even building the house only increases 3 energy? Come on… seriously? And then it is a complete joke what you charge for in app purchases of rubies/energy. Obviously you have some rich people or very foolish people that purchase the $8-$50 extras! I have never ever seen a game charge that much for in app purchases! NEVER! I do every event and play all day and night most days and I have only finished I think the first and maybe second events when I first started playing. I have been suckered in and bought the $2.99 deals 3 times and still was not able to complete the events. And as for the events you require items that needs tons of energy just to make one thing in the shop and the task requires 4-7+ of 3 different items to make which all the resources you need to collect are usually @62 energy out of 75 that you get when fully charged. Not nice… Also it takes forever to level up. I need to be level 46 or 48 to get to higher ground where palm trees are and my boat always asks for palm wood that I cannot get from any island. I was getting one tree on my home island which of course uses up 62 energy. Seriously change some stuff up. Please! Also every rock and tree on home island is 105-158+ energy. And every time I go to instagram, YouTube, etc. it says click here for your gift and I do but I never receive the gift. This just happened today when I received a message from you to go to instagram or YouTube to watch a video and comment. I commented which then a pop up popped saying you won a gift of 500 energy CLICK HERE to receive. So I did and I received NOTHING. And like other players said it’s impossible to get in contact with you when I have a problem going on.
Pro’s - people with addictive personalities and time on their hands will enjoy it.
Like I said I don’t even know why I play it bc I am only at level 24 I believe and that is playing everyday since I started a few months ago.

Family Island — Farming game Just discouraging

Update: Family Island is my favorite game. You can read my first review below, if you care to. Since I wrote that review, I feel like the developers have heard our pleas for more energy. They are really generous—more than any other game I’ve played. Add to that the fun adventures added each day, which are always changed up, even when they are the same “island,” and it is just really, really cute and fun. I play every day, and I spend no money. Sometimes I realize that in a current adventure/contest, I don’t have a prayer of winning top prizes. But it’s always fun, I can *usuallykeep advancing, and they keep me coming back. I highly recommend it, if you enjoy resource-type games.
———————————————————

I have been playing this game for a while, and when I can progress in the game I have really enjoyed it. The animations are fun, and the different islands keep things interesting. I play just for a while every evening; at first things went slowly but as I moved up it seemed that the developers were more generous with the energy and I could play. I even got pretty high in a few of the events, if they lasted long enough. That was when the game was the most satisfying and fun to me. At this point I’ve hit level 29 and it’s just frustrating. I can’t get enough energy to even come close to finishing the last two or three events—even when they lasts 5 or 6 days. I know how to get more energy—but what happens is that the events require too much energy to get anything done. Moreover, the little energy making “devices” (like the shower) break down and require things from the chest to fix them. But the materials needed by the merchant have suddenly all required the hardest and longest things to make, and so I can’t open chests to get them. If I don’t play for hours I just can’t get anywhere. I absolutely refuse to buy energy for a game like this. They are fun, but they produce nothing and I have nothing to show for the activity. I will not spend money on a game. So, to make a long story short, unless the game’s “economy” (if you will) doesn’t loosen up pretty soon, I’ll be moving on to something else. I would be sorry to do so, so I’m hoping that things get better soon.

Family Island — Farming game Fun game but very poor cost:benefit ratio

This is a fun game but there are several improvements that need to happen to make it better. I am level 34 and have been playing now for about 6 months. Here are suggestions that the developers need to implement to make this game much better!
1. Reduce the cost of everything by 50%. It's all too expensive.
2. Double the output of all resources and lower the price.
3. Reduce build time of everything by 50%. It takes way to long. 1 hour for a single brick? That's ridiculous.
4. Reduce energy generator time from 2 minutes/energy to 1 minute/energy.
5. Double energy storage. Start the game with 100. Every level you increase should go up by 5 energy. I'm level 34 and can only hold 93 energy? With my idea, at level 34 I should be able to hold 270 energy. Much better and would make players much happier.
6. Add more then three building slots in all the workshops or be able to build more workshops. Nobody can produce enough scrapers to make progress. OR you can allow us to build more workhshops. I want a stone work shop with 10 slots that only builds scrapers. I don't think that is asking to much.
7. Make the merchant require less rare things. Let's give him corn, tomatoes, peppers, grass, etc. Not materials that are complex to build like beams, clay tiles, blue paint, art palettes, etc.
8. The adventure islands are a lot of fun when there are lots of blue boxes and complex mazes to go through. However, they are pretty much impossible to complete without usuing actual money to buy additional energy. They require high energy items to make progress and build special items relentlessly. Cut all cost of resources by 50% and increase output and the adventures would be way more fun. Continue to add energy generators too so we can actually make progress.
9. Make gems and keys more readily available in the game without purchasing. Cut down a big tree, heres 5 gems with the resources. Big rock, same thing, etc. Did you remove a stump with a gold shovel? Look, you found a key under it. These ideas aren't hard and would make the game so much better.
10. Please just work with us in helping to design this so we can see a change that benefits all players and makes this game better.

Family Island — Farming game Not worth your time!

This game could be fun, but it has serious problems: 1) Cost vs Reward The amount of energy required is ridiculously high for the reward. Example: 19 energy units for TWO (2) snowballs! Seriously? Most resources you need cost much more energy, and the reward vs. cost is about the same as for the snowballs example. 2) Energy development is capped at a low level. While you are away, energy is gained, but only to a very low cap. Once that cap is reached, no more energy is added. 3) Many resources cost way more than your energy cap For example, large trees cost over 100 energy. This is above your energy cap until you get to higher levels in the game. This means you have to spend cash to be able to buy energy to collect the resources you need to grow (and to increase your energy cap by a small amount. 4) All of this leads to very limited time playing the game. My advice is find a different game to play! Update: I received a reply from the devs that one can play the game without paying to play, but it just takes longer to develop. If this were Facebook, fact checkers would slap a label on the devs response that it is mostly false. Without spending real money, it is impossible to complete virtually any of the events. Rewards are insignificant to the cost, even without spending money. The cost to remove obstacles is ridiculously high compared to the amount of energy you can earn without spending cash! THAT is the real truth about this game! I have deleted this game, because I refuse to give any more money to this group. Oh, and don’t get me started on the “Oops! Something went wrong!” fiasco of this game. Others have already alluded to this issue which never gets fixed. I reiterate my previous comments; stop wasting your time and money and find a better game to play that doesn’t rip off its players.

Further update: Developers just gave another nonsensical reply to my comments which does not address the real issues of this game. There are real technical issues with it which are not related to my cache or anything else on my end. There are MANY reviews giving one star for many reasons. Responsible developers fix those problems. Money hungry developers do not. Guess into which category the developers of this game fit.

Family Island — Farming game Only In SMALL Increments!

This game has a great premise and I have enjoyed playing it... but if Im being honest, the game I am playing looks nothing like the game in the advertisement... which I understood pretty early on... but continued anyway because I liked it... but...strike one.

This game can only be played in small increments unless you are willing to spend $$$$ ( which I did initially ) lots of ACTUAL money... which is just not feasible for most especially during a pandemic! ...So strike two.

The “energy” pricing is so high that even tho you get a few “energies” back [in an hour] they are not enough to go very far in the game, even though you are expending so much time and actual ENERGY feeding the goats, chickens, feeding the family, planting the veggies, making the feed , and bowls and tools, and ropes and exchanging your hard earned good with merchants etc...

If you get 71 energies... then why does cutting down a tree cost 109, 147 or 258 energies? If you have to cut the tree down to continue the pathway in the game...you are FORCED to SPEND MONEY!

If you do actually get the scratch to cut down the tree... at least it is cutdown entirely... Try breaking a rock... if you break a rock worth 64 energy... you only get a few pebbles off of it, then see the REST of the rock shows a price of 33 or 55 MORE energy to get the entire rock... which completely unfair!

For HEAVENS SAKE ... Do something about the lack of space for storage! It takes an enormous amount of resources to run the island, so I would hope you don't want players stressing about where to store all of it on level 15 or 16 with no way to upgrade the space until level 18 or 19...a needless ANNOYANCE!... So Strike 3!

The fact that so many people are home with nothing to do... should have meant lowering your pricing, to encourage game/brand loyalty...

Like I said... I really liked this game so much... I loved taking care of this little family... but it is HARD work !

Devs...Every time a player completes a task of any kind... making the feed, feeding the animals, making ropes or stakes, or any task great or small... a few energies should be “gifted” just to encourage continued game play... because if continued gameplay seems unachievable, then it gets boring and then it’s on to the next game...

Family Island — Farming game Costly Game

I have been playing this game for about a year and really enjoy it with these caveats:
1. It is a slow building game. I first wanted to get to level 20 and am now at level 56. To get this high in the game it takes a long time, energy consumption barely increases without updates however the golden progress bar now requires 45,000 stars to level up, each level up takes weeks.
2. My next point it is very expensive. To level up in my game I usually spend a lot of money, which I have now decided to stop. Why should I pay $300 for a game monthly with little reward?
The rewards are so little compared to the cost. $15 for 17 golden keys.
3. The key for me has been to enter tournaments to get rewards to then build up my individual island. But now, as of recently, the rewards in these tournaments are hardly worth it.
4. Another problem with the game is an item becomes available on a new level like the iron plates or a new garden bed but then it says “complete quest” to access it. Which quest? It does not say and no way to find out. Very annoying when that item the iron plate is required for the next building upgrade but still a locked item. These inconsistencies in the game are often and difficult to find a workaround.
5. The scripts: I wish I could turn them off in the settings, I do not need scripting for every island.
6. I should be able to explore MY island before reaching level 70, why is it set up to not be able yo fix the bridge and explore my foggy area? If this was a real survival game the settlers would first explore their own island and then wander off. This is an annoying aspect and I am running out of room with all the collector items from exploring other islands. Please make this you reach level 50 not 70.
7. The adventure islands are repetitive, you can be more creative with new islands instead of repeating forgotten island and meow land all the time. I would like to see an island with squirrels, one with snakes, etc, unique animals and new scenarios.
8. I would like to make my own item, not be forced to make the same items over and over again. Why does a barrel require 3 other hard items to make? I can make a simpler barrel without so many materials.
I think that’s the majority of the problems in this game, please make this game worth keeping.

Family Island — Farming game It’s okay…

I’m still wondering what the point of being in a clan/group is. You can’t trade goods with your team, you can’t request energy assistance, can’t ask for help with building…idk, seems pretty pointless. Events are a hit or miss, some events make it actually possible to get through some of the required tasks because they don’t require as much supplies, or energy to upgrade/create while other events require 2+ golden shovels/pickaxes/chainsaws just to access bonus energy.

There are other islands you can travel to, but to advance within those islands you have to have LOTS of energy, or you need to make a ridiculous amount of items (like knives, hammers, bricks, etc) to advance. It’d be cool if the “free” chests refreshed daily or even weekly on those islands like they do on the main island. When you compare how much energy is required to do even the smallest of tasks, versus the amount of energy you can get when you eat food, or utilize the periodic “free” energy gained from statues/buildings it just doesn’t balance out.

Thanksgiving just passed, and I must say that this has been the most beneficial weekend of playing this game to date. The amount of freebies they’ve been giving out has been AMAZING, and the event is actually pretty easy to make progress on. Not to mention you can collect % tags and “purchase” prizes from the store using them instead of having to spend rubies or actual cash money. It’s the only week that I’ve played where I feel like I’m not just sitting around waiting for energy, or trying to collect things to cook food in exchange for energy.

I really don’t want this weekend to end just because the prizes and stuff have been so amazing plus it’s been so easy to get and maintain energy throughout the event - typically you have just enough energy to slowly chip away at event tasks one item at a time and it just takes the fun away from playing. Example: you need to create 8 paint pallets to “feed” a unicorn to unlock the next area, but in order to make a paint pallet you have to collect 20 pieces of grass, 30 rocks, 45 sticks, and 20 barrels that contain paint. You’ll find yourself having just enough energy to collect one barrel, and smash a small pile of rocks before having to take a time out so energy can regenerate. This current thanksgiving event is the complete opposite of that, and I hope future events will be more like this one than the ones we’ve had before.

Family Island — Farming game Be careful, don’t get started

I love this game, the animation, the characters and there interactions with each are, their humor and visual look of the game is overall just wonderful!
I would gladly give this game a 5 star except you can’t do much unless you spend actual money and a lot of it!
I don’t have a problem supporting and paying to play but the more you get into the game you find out you are just very limited unless you keep spending. Some construction sites have multiple levels to go through to complete the build which takes way to long. Also once you upgrade or build a site you are still limited on the spaces available to complete items. Not sure why I upgrade if it still only has the same amount of slots available. Now you have more items to choose from to build but only 2-3 slots available to construct them. So building or updating sites take way way to long and seem pointless. The multiple island adventures are fun but since you can only get limited amounts of energy you cant complete the quests for the different islands and your home island without buying more energy, which is bought by gems which are hard to get unless you spend real money to get gems. Spending real money should be because you want to support or want to finish a small project but not a necessary requirement to advance in the game. You can only keep a small amount of energy on hand unless you buy it. Sort of frustrating. You can’t even clear away items unless you have enough energy, which only goes to a certain amount unless you buy enough energy to give you the amount needed to clear that item away to gather resources. And remember that to get more energy you have to buy it with gems which are hard to get unless you buy more gems with real money.
Soooo I do love the game but I’m frustrated with having to constantly spend real money.
So my advice to you is to not get started playing this game unless you are prepared to spend real money... and a lot of it.
I am on level 15, and with each level the energy only increases by a few. If you only can receive energy up to 75, then get some from the bathroom/shower, fountain, shaman, etc you now may have around 250 energy but a large tree just grew in the center of your stuff that now cost 149 energy to remove, really? Now you only have enough energy for a few items then have to wait again for your energy to build back up.
You can give resources away to get level points but why can’t I give them away to get energy? And the ratio of resources revived to the amount of energy needed don’t seem to add up.
I guess I’m just frustrated.
My advice Don’t even start playing.

Family Island — Farming game Game has changed a lot over a year and not for the better!

I started playing this game about a year ago and it was really fun and I didn’t mind spending some money because you’d get a good amount of what you were spending your money on! Now, event islands and the quests are ridiculous in the cost of the items required to complete them! So whereas a group of rocks was 34 energy points and you’d get a fair amount of rocks is now predominantly 35 for a grouping and less rocks, same thing with items specific to that event item! I was hoping that when I reached the ability to upgrade the hearth, it would give you 3 spaces to put items that are required to make certain foods and that’s how the energy and cook time would increase! Same thing with the kitchen! The other thing I have a problem with is when you buy special offers! When I first started playing the game, I bought one of the special offers and that included energy, rubies and bonus tools. Nowhere in the guide to the game does it state or did it state at that time, that you had to purchase the offer 3/3 times in order to get the bonus tools! This was a puzzle offer! Most of the comments I have seen as well as what I thought, that you can purchase it no more than 3 times and then that offer is removed! The biggest beef I have is with support! For one, it takes an absurd amount of time to hear back from them, so by the time you do, you get a snarky comment and your ticket has closed because it’s been 3 or more days since contacting them and you forget about it! Most of the time they don’t understand what you are trying to get help with and then if you do get a response within a timely manner, it’s never anything to do with the game! What really hacked me off the most was during the last Halloween style event. I thought something was going on with my phone and the game was not working correctly because anytime I hit what I thought was a social media gift link, it didn’t work. After offloading my game 5 times, deleting and reinstalling it 3 times, using supports help, losing a whole day of game play and my #1 position in the game because support didn’t get back to me until 12 hours later about using my ID# to reinstate my game, did I find out by scrolling wayyyy back through messages; only to find out that there were not any gifts offered! Support never told me this during the 3 days I had been working with them trying to figure out what was wrong! Needless to say, I have way to much money sunk into this game to stop playing and/or delete it! Please don’t comment on my rating that I can do this or that to get this or that, by trying to slink out of your developer issues, it is an insult to me and anyone else that has had a true problem with this game!

Family Island — Farming game Not enough “energy” and time to perform tasks

I wrote a review a few weeks ago about my woes of this game and it has only gotten more difficult. I am on level 19.

You get 75 units of energy to perform tasks(you are able to go past that threshold if you make food, find it in a chest usually at the start of the day, or complete boat/Shaman tasks). But once you use it up then you’re on your own. You need too many basic items to create another item to complete another task that’s part of a bigger task. They give you like 3 days to complete exploring of an island. But to break down some large items it’s 65 units of energy. So you’re stuck doing nothing after that. Mainly if you ran out of energy and resources to get to that portion of the island. You have to wait until the 75 units is replenished to then knock out another 65 unit item and you’re left with 10 units of energy again. Not much you can do with that except wait. Sticks, grey rocks, red rocks, tree stumps, leaves are the base to most of the workshop items. To upgrade from level one for half of the stations takes you creating 20 of scrapers, 12 bowls made from red stone. A small stone is 19 units of energy and that will amount to 3 stones. 3 stones makes one bowl. While you have to simultaneously clear through the island and knock down trees and rocks and thorny items that are 65+energy. Then they give only the 3 days total to complete it. There is no time nor ample energy to do so. So crazy. There was a task as the “final” task for one of the islands. It required you to collect turquoise coins that you can get from breaking down items across the island. A small 19 energy rock got you 2 coins. A bigger 65 energy rock got you 5 coins! You needed a total of 1800 or 2000. I had to breakdown the specifics for these different items because I never seemed to get any closer! Of course opening a chest got you maybe 50 coins. But you are only able to get a key to open the chest from merchant if you provide to him the 10 items he needs and he comes every 2-3 hours. Impossible tasks to try and complete an island.

On top of alllll of that, if you think “well you can just make food and get energy” that is true. Basic roots are 12 units of energy. Eggs are 20 or 24 units of energy. But if you use the roots or eggs for the shaman or the merchant then you’re waiting again to gain energy. ALSO. you have the option to “multiply” the total amount of food energy by 5. I always do that and watch the ad for it, yet I still get the original energy amount. Every.single.time.

So incredibly frustrating, annoying, all of it. It is a fun concept game but that’s taken away with how long drawn it takes to complete tasks and short time you have on a given island.

Family Island — Farming game The game is a total loss within 2 days

The game looks great initially. Don’t get fooled.
Your people need food, fresh water , salt and shelter to survive.
Food is available but other than berries, all cooked food must be cooked WITH salt. I initially found some starfish. These are used for their salt content. After that, it is a matter of luck to find a chest with salt or have a merchant give you salt. This means at any point in this game you could get unlucky, watch your people die from lack of food, and lose any time and money invested in this game.
In an act of desperation, I cleared numerous paths to uncover some source of salt. I found none after that initial supply to present a false impression of the game. The game wants me to store the wood, rocks etc that I cleared as building supplies. The game has asked that multiple times in the 2 days. It is unrealistic to need to rebuild buildings multiple times over 2 days. Further, despite insisting that your storage is full, those building supplies won’t do. You must make other items. You can’t. The game won’t allow the manufacture of NEW items if your storage is full. Of course the game suggests that to get out of this situation, spend real world money.
I have no salt. My animals are starving because the game won’t let me make animal feed because storage is full.
Apparently I am to spend MORE money or quit. ENOUGH.
The cartoon characters are cute, but this game is a money grab.
I am sick of game writers stacking the reviews with people playing their first hour so they don’t yet realize all that is wrong.
This game could have been playable by allowing the islanders to let sea water evaporate in clay dishes to create salt. In a real world, people would notice as a warehouse fills. There is no percent filled on the warehouses.
There is zero reason the chickens and goats who were grazing the island on their own suddenly need ground food several times an hour.
The islanders are stripping their island, of trees, berry bushes, wood, ie they are an ecodisaster in the making. No you don’t replant trees and bushes for every one destroyed.
The lack of salt and the push to go clear land... on your own island and on others contributed to this.
I really wish someone had told me...salt required in the diet, and no steady supply arranged.
I am also disgusted that players have to upgrade ANY building within the first month of play. Players should be allowed to calmly explore without all this need to upgrade.
I wanted this game as a mental break from COVID, the economy, the wars, and politics. Thanks for being one more headache.
My guess is that maybe this game was better at some point, then it was modified to make it even more of a problem. Please folks, skip this mess.

Family Island — Farming game LOVE, BUT……

I love this game and I’ve been playing it for a long time but it seems so rigged anymore like for instance the disco thing to win prizes. I started spending the $.99 to skip and then the 299 whatever whatever and it gave me every single little one there’s 2000 diamonds or 10,000 energies but now I got the one key, the one candle for whatever that’s used for, the 50 energy, basically all the little stuff, so it just goes to show it’s rigged and then for instance when you have to be on a big rock, that’s 179 to knock down and you knock it down and then underneath of it another hundred and then underneath so that’s 30 and then underneath that’s 15 or 19 whatever it’s ridiculous. The whole thing should just be 179 energy to knock the whole thing out! And then on the adventures, you have to get to the prize boxes, but in order to get to the prize boxes, you’re not down way more energy than what you get out of the boxes used to be somewhat decent anymore. It’s nothing in the box as you get maybe 50 to 100 energies out of 7 to 10 it’s ridiculous and real money might as well kiss the adventures goodbye because they’re real money to spend on the game I do spend real money on the game like an idiot because I love this game but anymore it’s seems so rigged up and the pink bags you only get them if you basically go all the way through there’s no there should be at least maybe one or two maybe three instead of just one, so then people who aren’t spending real money can actually get those because the pink bags actually have some decent stuff in them! Or, at least different variations of the pink bags like vans through it as events through the adventure! But Pretty much been real money in order to do the adventures.. and upgrades on everything do you really need 50 finished boards and 100 blue pants for something like come on this game definitely makes money and definitely makes money off so I can only imagine other people who enjoy it as much as I like, I said I love this game it’s just it’s getting to be too much and me spending real money on a game that is just rigged up is getting annoying I’m not trying to sound like a Karen just voicing my opinion is because I like this game the very much & enjoy it a lot ! so maybe one of the creators could take that into consideration because I can guarantee I’d spend a lot more money and probably other people as well if it were more Reasonable! Thanks a lot. Your family islander PS… and the waiting like do we really have to wait two hours for a baby to be billed and then spend 30 to 100 diamonds to speed it up come on and the quests these days are costing to much to even go through them 4-5000 energy and you get through I’m spending to much legit money on it and finally over it

Family Island — Farming game Creators are overall money hungry

Edit: creators and admins of the Facebook page have banned me for my review! Be cautious when making reviews & be cautious posting anything but positive comments otherwise they’ll ban you as well! Theres a whole group made by actual people who play the game if you wanna join! They CANNOT silence us forever!

This game is almost impossible to play unless you pay money. And unless you’re paying 50+ dollars on each event (even with the free energy packages) everything costs so much energy and rubies to complete. Not to mention the fact that the amount of energy in each event that it costs to gather materials, and then move along the path is absolutely insane. The events last two to two and a half days and ive been playing on my game for a year or longer now. Ive only spent $3 in total and have been stuck moving slowly unless i want to pay more. All the upgrades on your home island take FOREVER because the amount of materials you need vs the amount of energy you have just is ridiculous and even though you can earn energy from winning events its nearly impossible if you dont have money to keep playing it. I seriously do love this game but the amount it costs to upgrade is outrageous and it’s frustrating because this game an the characters are so cute and fun but its starting to not be fun for me anymore To add on to this after reading developer replies Events- hardly any energy you give us options for whether videos because each video after a certain amount you have to wait 24 hours for the next video/s and by them the event is over Making food- doesnt give you nearly enough energy to get you where you need to be with energy and caps out at a certain limit Bathroom- hardly gives any and even with upgrading doesn't give enough Spending rubies- 5 rubies=30 energy not worth it whatsoever Fountain-takes too long to refill and you never get enough time spheres to recharge it/upgrade it Things earned in events- its almost impossible because to complete anything and make it to first place and to be able to actually collect those things is impossible without spending your own money in crazy amounts for deals that arent even worth it because its used up within one event when that much should be used within three maybe four events. The amount of replies that really dont care about the feedback players are giving, is extremely concerning. The Facebook/youtube links also dont give you hardly anything as well. Its so dumb. And the facebook group they advertise ALL the people are great except creators/moderators of the page/game. Everyone on there isnt even able to express how they feel without the moderators/creators deleting their comments, not allowing them to post etc. its quite frustrating to try and express and gain other opinions from those who play the game and then being told no and that youll get banned from the game is a little strange. You made a game and expect only positive feedback? Its irritating that you cant see how uninteresting this game has gotten because you cant take advise from people who play it daily. All we ask is for a few changes and you cant even do that.

Family Island — Farming game Fun concept but extremely frustrating

I really do like this game. It’s a great concept and fun to play. Unfortunately it’s extremely challenging to progress. It takes too much energy to harvest a single resource and to complete any one tasks takes multiple resources. Without real money it could take days/weeks to get to the next task or level up. You literally have to focus on crafting one set of items at one time. It’s unbelievably time consuming and you get nowhere or go in circles. It’s incredibly unporportionate; energy:resource ie you get enough energy ~84 to chop down one tree for ~3 logs and it takes 4 logs to craft a single board and to craft a single finished board you need 2 boards?!? Literally a it’s vicious circle because you also need logs to cook food to get that energy to chop down a tree to get a couple logs (insert face slap emoji).

Some resources take 200+ energy however if you ever are able to save over ~150 energy (not sure of exact number) and try to feed your family to get energy to meet that 200 mark it won’t let you because “your family is full”. Super frustrating because what’s the point of making food for energy when you can’t use it to get over that certain point to get that ONE resource of 255 energy? The only option is to put real money into the game. Which I have done but won’t anymore. I’ve probably invested $30+ on this game to just go in circles.

My most recent frustration is I know I crafted items which takes multiple resources but when I collected it it did not register or credit me. The first few times it happened I thought I was going crazy or I wasn’t sure but it happened again and I knew it and contacted support. They responded but I didn’t really know how to find their response and I just moved on with my life, I mean it’s just a game. I typically craft items that take a long time before I go to bed and the next day I’ll collect. Well I had invested a ton of time to get myself to complete a lighthouse task. Focused on one set of items at a time. So this instance specifically I only needed 1 more ladder to complete that specific lighthouse task by bedtime and knew when I woke up my ladder would be crafted and I would collect and be done that morning. Nope, I woke up collected that ladder and it did NOT credit me so I could not complete that task. I immediately contacted support and explained the situation. Then I crafted another ladder that morning and was able to collect it. Well a few hours pass (support time zone vs my time zone) they told me I had collected it. After going back and forth several times, giving me a play by play that morning stating “you crafted your ladder at x:xx and collected it at y:yy time and you’re at x point of y task blah blah blah” basically implying I was lying about not receiving a ladder. Long story short I told them this is a game, figure out the glitches, I am not lying. They did end up giving me a single ladder but that hardly compensates me for the time, energy and effort in harvesting resources, crafting items, and time spent back and forth with support just for them to imply I was lying about not receiving an item. And mind you that specific night I had crafted multiple time consuming items that I did not get which I had stated but the ladder was literally the one item I especially needed for that one task. I really felt insulted when it was implied I lied about a dumb ladder and even more so when their resolution was a message to “check your message, we gave you A ladder” which just felt like they wanted me to shut up.

Anyways after reading other reviews I know I’m not crazy as it seems others in the past also had the same situation/issue of not getting credit for crafted items. I’ll honestly keep playing this game but at snail pace and it won’t be at the top of my list. I’ll find a new game that’s actually worth my time and even real money. It’s just unfortunate because I would spend some money here if it would feel worth it; money:progress. It’s sad because it’s a cute game and storyline.

Family Island — Farming game Different prices for different customers

When you complete a task you think that everyone on the same island has the same tasks with the same cost implications To complete yet it become clear that if you make regular purchases like I do they impose more tasks with higher cost on to me than others. We are trying to finish the task but I am being asked to buy more resources for completing than others Is this not illegal do I contact the gaming commission this is price gorging

Desired outcome: That they cannot select customers who pay to play by inflating costs what the same costs on all the tasks

Family Island — Farming game Game is Fun and awesome. Customer service is awful

I was having a great time with this game until the Christmas event. First it came in early and completely broken and I was wondering if it was even fixable but really the game just needed to update. It updated and got fixed and my event progress got reset as expected. Then i played through the event a second time and got quite far into star island before it got reset...again. Apparently there were more bugs that needed to be fixed so progress needed to be reset and thankfully the time got reset too. But the second play through i bought the smallest gem pack and collected some gems that i specifically used to buy energy so I could get stuff done quickly and progress in the Christmas event. Now i received 300 gems for my progress getting reset and was told that I would get my gems i spent also in the event time refunded back to me so id be officially at square one with compensation for having to do it again. But i never received my extra gems. I went to support and they repeated you got your gems in every way possible without actually helping me with the situation. I paid money but they really didn’t care about giving me compensation for that money that i paid which turned me off of the game almost immediately after. I really liked the game but I dont want to play it anymore because if I encounter a problem that only affects me directly I know I wont get the needed support.

Family Island — Farming game $$$

Unless you plan on spending your own real money, don’t do it. The cost of EVERYTHING is outrageous and it takes weeks to construct everything you need to make a simple upgrade, if you ever even can. I’ve played for months and I’ve been able to upgrade one building. You aren’t given enough energy to cover a smidgeon of what you’re required to do to keep moving up. I’ve completely given up on the special islands that they do every three or four days, no doubt just to make extra $$ off of people. RIP OFF. What kills me is, this game has SO many more bad reviews than good, yet they continue to not change a thing or make it better. It’s stupid to not realize how much money you’re losing by making it where so many people can’t play. It’s not fun. Not in any way. It’s frustrating and stressful. So stupid.

After reading the developer’s reply, I’d like to add that almost continuous play is necessary to complete adventures, and each upgrade takes more and more items that each take more and more items that you must craft; ie causing you to either have to play constantly or spend your own money. New adventures start every few days and they’re utterly impossible to finish without spending cash. Developers obviously do not want people playing who are not willing to spend their hard earned cash in a game that is absolutely ridiculous anyway. I have better things to spend mine on, thanks.

Family Island — Farming game Not worth it

The developer mentioned you can collect energy from other islands and eating food, but what developer fails to mention, (and what makes this game so frustrating) is that it takes energy to GAIN energy.

You want to collect berries and gifts from other islands for energy? Well, in order to do that, you have to use energy to clear out trees and stones to get to the berries. Spending energy to gain energy gives you limited roomed to grow in the game.

But then the developer mentions cooking and the bathroom for extra energy, with failure to mention the bathroom gives you 5 energy every several hours. And for food, you have to collect materials (with energy and wait time) all to collect about 20 energy per meal. When you have an energy bar of about 72 (depending upon level) and this is what you gain in wait time, it’s kind of ridiculous. Not to mention, the trees and stones alone can cost you 80-200 energy— for a single stone or tree. There’s not enough energy in your bar to clear out ONE single item.

This game allows little-no room to progress in the game. I’m not going to wait hours to collect energy just to clear out a SINGLE tree, or hours to collect energy to clear out a path to collect gifts and berries… it’s wild that the developer thinks there’s a balance between collecting energy wait time— and costing you energy to gain energy.

This game has potential, but it falls short.

Family Island — Farming game Horrible Energy Ratio

I always have 2-3 games going on my phone at once. One of them I've played for over 2 years. I usually buy in each game once a week. This was fresh, the graphics are cute, story is engaging. I was excited to play this. When I joined there were two events going. Ok... completed one... once all my production buildings were going I found myself choosing between event and development. Frustrating, but alternating between energy refills was fine. Not how I prefer to play, but fine. I had bought packs twice already to get through the treasure island event. It was a weekend so I was enjoying. But come Monday I thought I’ll wait til next weekend to buy... ok, I’ll just work on catching my island up through the week since I hit level 14 so fast. I had catching up to do. Here’s where the honeymoon ends. My energy cap is 75. The resources I need are 95-125 to harvest. Or I can get grass I don’t need. I was making food non stop and saving fruit bushes etc to try to get energy high enough to harvest once. I cannot harvest a full storehouse to have all production running at once. The energy ratio is way off! I can do 2-3 things or ONE thing before I’m done. Now I refuse to buy again just to chop a tree! I’ll check in and see if it’s better after updates. Love everything else about it. Base game play should not have such a wait. Pay to play should be for the competitive or special bits, not the basics.

Family Island — Farming game Constant pop-ups, glitches, crashes and bad customer service

The game is fun, but wading through the constant sales pop ups, the slow energy renewal meant to push you to buy energy, the many glitches and crashes make it more trouble than it’s worth. Finally after I had to deal with their customer service when I made the mistake of making a purchase which didn’t show up and they seemed absolutely uninterested in fixing the issue and told me to wait and it would likely fix itself. I explained that because the purchase was specific to a limited time island in the game and would only work for that island wouldn’t be useable if it showed up in a day or two after it closed. Customer service essentially said “Ope, well too bad, thems the breaks.” I then asked if they would please just go ahead and cancel it or issue a refund and she left me on read for nearly ten minutes and then said no, sales are final and my only option was to report it through apple to get them to refund it but then my account would be at risk (I’m assuming they meant my game account with their game). I told her that was fine because as soon as I got my refund I was deleting my account with the game and the game anyway. Stay away from this game. I understand glitches happen, & things go wrong, but refusing to cancel/refund when your game messed up and a purchase won’t be usable and then threatening someone if they report the purchase to get a refund for that unusable product? That’s fraud.

Family Island — Farming game USED IN A SCAM

It’s disappointing because this game is actually kinda fun, but they are giving it to a scammer claiming you will get $750 for Shein if you get to level 9. I played just because I liked it, but I don’t want to anymore because this is so dishonest and I don’t support any company or app that participated in scamming and robbing people of their money. I say that because the scam to get “free money” requires you to pay for a lot, promises just this game then it’s 20 games and subscriptions you don’t even want. Even reaching level here, u still don’t even get the $5. Please be more mindful of who u allow to use your app for these things because if I came across this in an ad, and played like I did, I would have given 5 stars because it actually is alot of fun and you don’t need to pay much to play. However, being tied to a scam that’s being advertised on TikTok and other social media platforms with bots faking that the deal is in any way real. Sorry but again, major put off because now I’m sure there’s something up with your company and scammy as well. So if you came here and saw this review after seeing that ad, DO NOT DOWNLOAD AND PLAY! It’s honestly shocking companies are still pulling this scam. Advertise your game yourself, it’s not bad it’s actually good. Step away from those who will tank your app and give it a bad name and just do the right thing. It’s so sad because you don’t see the known games EVER on these scams. Because they don’t need to lie….

Family Island — Farming game MONEY IS THEIR BOTTOM LINE

It’s a cute game, I love the dialogues (only reason for two stars), but they give you way too many quests! Three quests at a time? You can barely get through one quest, let alone three. You waste too many resources that you can’t get back just to come up five steps short. I don’t do any of the merchant or shaman quest orders until I know that I absolutely have everything they need, because if you don’t get it done on their timeline you lose everything, and resources are too much of a premium, especially if it takes so much of one resource to make one item. I’m almost to the point of just stopping and deleting this game (I actually only stop in to pick up free energy), it’s comes to a point where it’s work and not fun. I play games to have fun, I work to make money. I’m not going to work at a game.
*balance the resource to item trade i.e., one stone to one scraper is perfect, how do you make one scraper out of more than one stone? One stick, one rope, and one stone makes a hatchet.
delete the countdown on the merchant and shaman orders.
Cash grab, they don’t care about us having fun playing their game, EVERYONE knows it’s here ONLY to make them money. To drain anyone with an addictive personality and little will power to put their credit card away. Quit lying to yourself, they will do NOTHING, to make this game easier to get ahead or finish a quest line.
DEV DON’T ANSWER THIS. I DO NOT NEED TO HEAR YOUR LIES.
IF THEY ANSWER THIS, IT IS BECAUSE IT’S JUST A BOT AUTO ANSWERING.

Family Island — Farming game Meh

I’ve only been playing about 20 hours now-I downloaded it yesterday and I’m already bored with it. It takes too long for energy to build up-1 point every two minutes and there is a cap that goes up if you can get the materials needed and then crafted. It’s hard to get materials this way, since most resources take more than a players energy limit. Since the only way to. And energy is through food, it’s still limited, because you can only store two or three items per table. And I just discovered that if you feed the family duplicate items at the same time, you get less energy from the food. For example, if I feed them two prepared eggs, I should get 30 energy. Instead I get 27. You can purchase more energy, but for how little the return on it is, doesn’t seem worth it to me. For example, I’d have to spend roughly $4 dollars two cut down two large trees. Not worth it in my opinion. Next issue is that there are so many different materials that you can only keep a small number of each item at a time, which is counterproductive, because in order to succeed in the game, you have to keep crafting items. The characters you can sell things to ask for some pretty expensive items with a very poor return rate. Materials you really need such as salt, only come a couple times a day. This is me speaking at a level 15, however, looking ahead, it just looks like more will be required with little return. I like to be fair, so I’ll keep playing for a few days, but I don’t see me playing much beyond that.

Family Island — Farming game Deception

The first time I saw an ad for this game it was about raft building and rescuing your family and finding your way to an island, the second ad I saw involved merging items to make them better, the third ad I saw displayed dropping massive amounts of tnt and clearing land quickly and gathering resources.

I don’t know why I am shocked but all of that is either blown out of proportion completely or non-existent.

The game is painfully linear, low-quality, and riddled with purchase options that are required to avoid spending multiple days waiting for any sort of tangible progress.

This game is like one of those interactive ads you can play in a different game that throws ads at you. Just not very good at all.

The sad thing is it COULD have been/be great. The dialogue is somewhat engaging but the amount of tasks is not worth the effort. The return on crafting seems like a chore, mostly tedious with little reward.

This would be a great game for a 5 year old but anyone needing more than something to click as far as mental engagement and immersive aspects would likely feel as I did after playing this for a bit. Bored.

I have no idea how this game has 5 stars. Do better developers, remember that quality attracts long term consumers. Lying about game content on ads is not a good way of securing any sort of established community.

Parents, hide your cards. I can’t imagine what I’d have done as a child if my parents had their card anywhere accessible. I would NOT have waited an hour to craft a brick, that is for sure.

Family Island — Farming game Pay to Play (essentially)

While the game doesn’t necessarily require money to play it becomes increasingly obvious the game is designed to make you (or your child) want to spend money. The game revolves around a slowly regenerating resource (energy) which runs out quickly after level 8. The game prompts you to a sale page as soon as you run out of energy, gives you an option to pay for any other resource any time your don’t have enough, gives you options to open ads to get bonus things or open chests, etc. Yes, there are built-in ways to regain these resources but they are nowhere near accessible and available as the store page or advertisements for it. I think about all the time I spent watching these ads and how the company probably made more money off of me than the benefits I gained equated to. Also I think about all the intentional game design decisions like limiting your buildings so things take longer to acquire, every bolder, bush, or tree in your way that requires energy to clear on a map so you have to come back over the course of many hours, every super lucky chest you stumble upon that take more keys than you happen across during your gameplay.
In the end, it was an alright game that was fairly entertaining but it got old fast, especially when it became more about money than it did making a good game. My advice to parents is watch your account for charges because this game definitely will tempt any kid. I still believe a truly great game should make you want to invest money without prompting you. That obviously isn’t what happened.

Family Island — Farming game The downs are just overwhelming the ups

Game is entertaining enough. Even spent a little money in it which I now regret. It takes a while to get energy but had enough to do to check on it regularly through the day. Then once on like level 18, the bathroom and shower downgraded themselves back down to broken when they were both on I think level two with partial supplies on the bathroom already donated for like level 3. Contacted support, didn’t hear anything for about 48 hours so by then I figured I would upgrade them back up one more time in the hopes the problem wouldn’t happen again. Get a horrible response saying there is no error and in the game you have to level them up to not be on the broken status so missed the problem entirely. Would have preferred no response over a useless one like that. I had then per the request of the girl linked my Facebook thinking that might stop the game from losing data and she said by linking I would get 20 gems. Linked and no gems and a day or so later, they lost their progress again! This is annoying in so many ways cause the support didn’t even care claiming there is no problem when two separate problems occurred and one now twice. I am not going to gather all of the stuff to try to level them up over and over just to lose the progress. I sure hope that is not how the game was made to just level over and over and losing it never making progress and it never said that is how it would work and nothing else is losing the progress. At this point due to poor support and it happening multiple times, I am just done and deeply regret giving them even a penny.

Family Island — Farming game This game will drain your wallet BIG TIME

If you are looking for a fun game, this used to be it. Sadly it has changed dramatically since new developers bought the game. It is still kind of fun, BUT ONLY if you are willing to spend HUNDREDS of dollars every time you play! I am not kidding. So many in my Facebook Group are fed up and not playing much any more, including the group experts. The developers will also change the level for opening up something new, without any explanation because they DO NOT have their act together. Once you reach a certain point in the game, it will take you MONTHS to get ONE new level. I have been maxed out (stuck) on each level since the new developers took over. It can be 1-2 months to get ONE new level. Customer service is a JOKE! No matter what the problem is, they NEVER offer any resources as an apology and maybe give you a TINY fraction of what the player lost as a result of a problem in the game if a player insists, but ONLY if the player insists. The standard customer service answer is they will pass along a problem to the developers. They will NEVER respond later and tell you the outcome of ‘passing along’ that problem or the resolution. They never announce a solution to a long standing problem and there are many ongoing issues. Customer service NEVER allows you to chat with a supervisor or Heaven Forbid an actual developer. Nothing about this game is transparent, so if you enjoy being ignored and frustrated every time there is a problem, this game is for you! Enjoy (bet you won’t after a while ). I gave this game 2 stars because for some reason it wouldn’t allow me to give it a single star. Go figure.

Family Island — Farming game Cold customer support

(UPDATE!? Melsoft replied with this! They didn’t even read my review! Worst customer experience/ service ever! SMH) Hi We're sorry that we haven't answer to your request yet. Sometimes our team may be overloaded due to the high number of requests. Don't worry! We'll always answer to everyone who contacted us. If you contacted us using web form, please check your spam mailbox as well. Have a nice day!)

(Original review shame on them for their laziness!) Contacted support about missing items when harvesting the snow. They stated they checked to see that I received said items however they did not update in my storage checked the date they said they observed items collected however it was they day before ( items not collected on smaller snow) the day I emailed them about the snow I was able to gather enough energy for largest snow piles then the smaller ones worked. I informed them. Their response was that I was incorrect about my inquiries and there wouldn’t be any compensation. I wasn’t asking for compensation even though I had spent about $50+ that month on the game.( I don’t mind spending money on games I enjoy because they are entertainment for me.) I was simply informing them about the situation but since they didn’t care I did tell them I had spent money on the game, never once asked for them to provide anything. They simply responded that they “double checked” and I received said items. Again that wasn’t the case. When I went to respond telling them I wasn’t asking for compensation the “case” was closed. This was the decision turner for me to uninstall the game! Will not ever install anything from melsoft again.

Family Island — Farming game Frustrating

I have been playing this game on and off for 2 years now. I loved it, it was a nice distraction and honestly a low stakes game you could get really into. Over the past few months they have done some updating. It’s impossible to get anything done without purchasing their packages or spending your life playing this game. It feels greedy anymore, it takes so much time and effort and they hardly give any reward. When confronted with this issue they have random give aways which after two years I have never won or they do a daily gift which honestly doesn’t do much. Every time I reach out to customer service about an issue I am pushed away with a it’s my problem attitude. The last island I had a glitch all the character kept getting stuck and after 4 hours back and forth with customer service they told me to waste my energy clearing random things to find the problem. I maxed out my level in the game so I am just stuck at max hoping they give me back credits which I just have zero faith in. It was a fun game that took my mind off of things, now it just makes me feel stupid for playing it. There is no way around spending money, regardless of the propaganda they put out. These folks are making cash I know I am in the Facebook group. Everyone talks about the same thing. It’s impossible to finish the islands there are no real rewards for completing anything anymore. It’s stagnant and greedy. I get enough of that in the real world I don’t want to deal with that with something that I used to decompress. It’s not enough to say I am disappointed with the development of this game. I am sick of being a test rat for how they can make the most money.

Family Island — Farming game Removing negative comments anywhere public

Edit: today I deleted the game. They still haven't removed the flashing pig and there are at least 6 different popups you have to close just to start playing. I lost 5 gold tools just closing popups and I'm tired of their team not listening. Terrible service. Terrible management. They use their Facebook groups to discourage people from leaving negative reviews publicly so I'm going to do it here and anywhere else I can :) I've been playing this game for about a year. It's been one of my favorites even though I started during the pandemic when I didn't have a job. I don't get to play all day every day now, but I still log in several times a day, and I still spend money. Unfortunately, the last few months have been dramatically different. They have increased the number of events they run, even though the vast majority of feedback is asking for fewer events. They repeat events but make them exponentially harder to complete while simultaneously reducing the rewards they give out. They even started releasing events that you cannot complete without spending money. Beyond that, when we offer feedback in the Facebook groups they use to prevent these types of reviews, it's routinely ignored. Instead of fixing consistently bad decisions, they'll release an event that makes everyone mad, then do the next one so easy that people will forget. It's a pattern and it's unscrupulous. At this point, it's becoming clear that I'm not their target market, even though I've been paying them for the better part of a year. The rewards at high levels are also extremely unbalanced, so I honestly don't think they are trying to get long-term players. It's genuinely disappointing.

Family Island — Farming game It’s ok but can be much better

The timing is a little ridiculous, the prices are too. How much energy that needs to be used to complete items and how much quality of the items u get it don’t make sense.
If I use 57 energies on a mushroom I expect to get at least half of that not only 3 and talking bout energies I’ve been on 72 energies limit since I started the game I would’ve expected to be able to get more energy added to the limit as I level up or maybe every 3 level ups to match the energy that needs to be spent to get to where u have to go I can barely play the game I want to because my energy is being used up so quick cause how expensive everything is to even be able to get anywhere in the game and if you have way over energies meaning above the energy limit you can’t get more energy by preparing food or if the table is full u can’t keep making more to stack up while u play to be able to keep playing.
Also, most games have ads that you can watch to be able to gain some energy when u don’t got it to be able to keep playing this one don’t
Also, the keys for the treasure, there should be other ways to get them other than just the boat guy or whatever other thing it was I can’t remember right now.
Also, the salt should be able to be access in other ways too not just a treasure box or the boat guy.
Same thing with the meet the rooster takes an hr to regenerate before being able to feed again to get the steak.
I can keep going but if you have fb and if Family Island (English) group is your group you’ll see everything that everyone post and how they feel about it. I personally choose to let you know on here how I feel and something’s that they mentioned that I agree on.
It’s a great game don’t get me wrong but it needs lots of improvements.

Family Island — Farming game Good game in concept. Terrible in practice

I enjoy the game and find it fun and entertaining. However, there are lots of downfalls (seriously, read the reviews and the comments from the developer). One, there are not enough tribes to join, and all of them are at application limits. So no new applications are allowed. Try to create your own, and you have to use gems. Gems are used for a lot of things, and when you find them in the game, they only give you 1-2 at most, even when you watch the stupid ads. Unless you buy them.
Speaking of ads: two. Don’t do it. I have watched the stupid ad to get more gems or energy several times, just to see the energy or gems were not applied, with a quick: “oops, something went wrong” even though I watched the whole thing, was connected to Wi-Fi, my screen did not time out, i did not go off the screen etc. And when it’s not doing that, it washes onshore and makes you wait 12 hours before you can claim it. Ridiculous. Don’t let it be there if you can’t claim it.
Three: keys. You’ll find DOZENS of chests that you can’t open without keys. But this goes back to point one on the gems, as you need them to open the chests. Some quests require the material from a chest to proceed, so you’ll never complete unless you pay for gems.
Four: energy. Yeah, yeah, I’ve seen your developer comments on “how easy” it is to acquire. Liars. Sometimes, they give you almost enough in an area to get through, sometimes not. I’ve picked all the berries, I’ve made a bunch of food, and still can’t get enough energy to pass through a quest in time unless I pay.
Five: BUY IT! Don’t make a game where you literally sit through potentially hours of paid advertisements (hello dollar bills) then STILL have to pay for everything.
The rest of the points are outlined very well in other reviews so I’ll leave it at that.
