Express Bath

The shower is nice, but I don't think it's worth $8,500. It's just made of plastic pieces. They came early, two weeks before I planned, which was annoying. This company always removes bathtubs, so you would think they would know that old colored cast iron tubs have value. A similar tub like mine would cost around $1,000, even if it was broken. The metal has value. I told them from the beginning that I wanted to keep my tub, even jokingly. The installer was reminded of this. However, when he was left alone, he happened to leave for an hour. And guess what? My tub disappeared at the same time. Two days later, we texted him and he said he put it in the company's dumpster. I called the company on Monday, and they said the dumpster was emptied that morning. But wait, they also said it was emptied on Saturday? They denied knowing about my request, but I have a recording. They said that when I signed the paper acknowledging the work was done, it meant they could dispose of all the original parts. Funny enough, the faucet and shower head were left, but not the tub. It was clearly stolen, knowing that I wanted to keep it. I'm sure there are plenty of remodelers or homeowners who don't care or don't know that vintage tubs have value, so the company probably takes them and resells them. They would be crazy not to. The company hasn't even tried to reimburse me for the tub, and I think they should. There are plenty of dishonest contractors out there who don't fulfill their contracts. I got a nice product (I hope, I haven't used it yet), but the shady part of this job bothers me, especially since I think it was overpriced to begin with.
