Re: Air Conditioner
On September 1, 2022 Energy Air serviced our air conditioner. The air handler was running constantly but no cool air coming from the vents, in fact both cool and hot air was coming from the vents. the tech diagnosed the problem as a faulty thermostat. We agreed to replace it..
On September 23,2022 I received an email from Duke Energy telling me that my electricity bill had reached $ 978.59, which I then immediately contacted Duke Energy to check the meter or if there was any other problem with my electricity (it was an urgent call) an electrician from Duke Energy came and said the meter is running too fast so he started checking everything, he checked all the breakers one by one, and when he turned off the breaker on the unit on the first floor the electricity started to move, he said there's your problem, he checked the meter, and decided to install a new one although he found nothing wrong with it (just in case). No sooner did he turn on the unit on the first floor the same thing happened, the electricity started running super fast.
Will checked the system on 9/24/2020 and said that the heater wire for whatever reason was remaining hot and in fact might be rubbing against the cool air wire thereby keeping the unit from turning off and running both hot and cool air. He also showed us where the fuse was blown
Unfortunately we believe that the mistake made by your technician has cost us a lot of extra money since we paid for the repairs made on September 1st and additionally we have to cover almost $ 1000 of electricity also we don’t know how much the new electric bill will be, since it ran for a couple of days in the new cycle and according to Duke we had already consumed $ 150 in two days when I placed the call to them.
