I am just writing in hopes that you can help us in dealing with a corporation called Enercare.

We rented a tankless hot water heater from Roy Inch and Sons from London with Cheryl-Ann Lovie as our sales rep who had previously owned Comfort Guys here in Woodstock. Comfort Guys was then sold to Service Experts / Roy Inch in 2021. But since Service Experts owned more shares than Roy Inch – they sold that company to Enercare Corporation.

We had our system installed in May 2021

We had problems with hot water reaching the second floor of our home – and it took 3 – 5 minutes to get hot water in our showers.

We then called for service in May 2022 – no one came or called.

We called them back only to find out that the service call was cancelled on their end – no idea why.

They came – and tried to fix our problem

Then we were still having problems so we called them back at the end of May 2022. The technician came in – we explained the problem. He came downstairs to look at our system. The next thing – he’s left our home – did not tell us if he fixed our problem or if he was coming back. But when I explained our problem – he says to me ‘well you should have done your research ahead of time’ — I should have kicked him out then.

So fast forward to now – recently we have had our washing machine stop working (only a couple of years old) – our showers have very little pressure. Our faucets in our sinks have very little warm water – and no pressure. We started to take our faucets apart that are only a year old as we just put in brand new bathrooms throughout our home as well a brand new kitchen. The faucets were filled with brown yucky sludge. We thought it was from the city water. So I contacted my nephew who works for the water department in our city. No it was not city water but it could be our filter had disintegrated on our water softener. So I contacted my other nephew who is a plumber. He came and looked and thought the same thing until he got looking into it further. It was hard water only. Someone had turned our bypass off on our water softener. The only people that have been in our home to work in that area are Enercare people. So I contact Enercare again. And this time it’s a call center. I think I am dealing with Roy Inch. They have no idea who I am talking about on their end about Roy Inch. So after over 2 hours on the phone – getting disconnected – trying to get someone that I could understand – they set up a service call to come yesterday. The tech that came yesterday – proceeds to tell me all about the bad awful things of Roy Inch and how people left – but how it was great for him as it pushed his seniority up to the top. I just want my water problem fixed. So he says to me – do you want your system fixed or not? I was like really?

So then the field manager reached out to me after I requested I speak with someone higher up. He has got back to me this morning basically telling me that I am a liar and there is no way that their technician’s would have turned my water softener into bypass. They have been the only people in my house. So basically too bad for you.

So now I have my plumber to pay – because he came and fixed my problem plus he took time off work to come back when Enercare was here. He also helped the technician and explained more of what do when hooking our system back up. Not his job. Plus I have to pay Anderson’s appliances in Ingersoll for parts and labour – to fix my washer.

I also have an RO system – that needs parts to fix it.

This company has horrible reviews. What they are doing to people is so unfair. But it is a corporation and how do you fight a company like this? I would never have had rented a system from Enercare – but am I stuck with them because they bought Service Experts / Roy Inch? If so – how is that right? They are just scamming so many people out there from the reviews I have read – and some of these people are elderly too that have their sons or daughters trying to help them fight this company that think they can get away with it. I have now also been in touch with our City of Woodstock and had one of their technicians from their water department come to our home to inspect our water. He tells us when they have calls about water pressure - the first thing they do is put the customers water softener into bypass and tell them they have done this. But then turn it back on before they leave. They believe this is when our water softener was turned into the bypass mode as it's not something you generally do as a homeowner.

Any thoughts or ideas on how I can get them to pay for my expenses. I don’t ever want them back in my home. They are also trying to increase their sales in southwestern Ontario – good luck. They are very heavy in Toronto. Should I be contacting someone else – if so who?

Thank you very much for your time and help.

Desired outcome: Would like payment so I can pay my plumber and also pay for the parts and labour to fix my washing machine that is only 3 years old. The photo below is the filter before it reaches the valve on my washing machine.
