I have ordered a course by course evaluation report of my 3.5 year German bachelor's degree in June 2015. ECE has accredited me with 3.5 years of undergraduate credit hours but not with a completed US Bachelor's degree.
The explanation was the following: "The general principle of comparative education is that one year of study at a recognized institution in a Germany is equivalent to one year of study at a recognized university in the United States. The United States defines a bachelor's degree as at minimum four years in duration. That is the standard. There is nothing more that can be done to create a four year program out of the 3.5 year program in Germany."
I do not want to complain, i guess i should had done more research before ordering the report. As I found out later online, other evaluation agencies have other procedures and consequently do accept 3 to 3, 5 year German degrees as equivalent to an US Bachelor . Unfortunately the university I wanted to apply at for the Masters programm in the US already received the ECE report and does not accept a second opinion, like a second report from WES for example.
Thats why i decided to go online and maybe be a help to others. If you have less than a 4 year foreign degree, do not go to ECE for evaluation. They will not accept it.
