Dentrix Dental Practice Management Software Systems

Very expensive software and support agreement. Yet both are deficient. Software (G2) was released with many bugs many months ago. And still waiting for fixes. Support for those fixes is enabled only through an expensive support agreement. They promised a repair patch would be available right away, and weeks later still waiting. Meanwhile our dental practice has to 'limp' with a faulty software. Today, they do not even return calls or e-mails anymore. While the support agreement is paid in full. The quality of the support provided by the support staff is always 'hit-or-miss'. Also, they publish computer requirement for computers that are not commercially available at Dell. And they would not provide a full response to requests for adequate alternative computers from Dell. If you are considering a purchase of management software for your dental practice - I encourage you to look for a local supplier that may value you business and provide adequate support, or else you need to budget a significant amount of your time to resolve software issues from Dentrix.

    record keeping issues- no way to find exams as lost in charting with no labels just dates. Health histories without prompts for updating, medical alerts that can be altered from what the patient signed etc. The charting makes no sense -it divides the progress notes into separate "procedure notes "and "clinical notes'. The" progress notes" are really the treatment plan that shows completion of a procedure. There is no way to locate or compare exams without reading all notes.They took a simple paper charting method and turned it into an ineffecient complex method which can be a problem when there is any litigation.
