Dekalb County Jail, Dekalb, Georgia review: Providing inadequate nutrition

There are individuals in the jail system of Dekalb County Jail in Dekalb, Georgia that have requested vegan diets. The jail states they will provide this as long as you complete the required forms. I am hearing that one individual has completed the form twice, and that the nurse /doctor has visited them with basically the same form to complete. Still on day 8 of being held in the jail, this person has not received their requested meals. Has had less than what is adequate for a toddler, and in the meantime is hungry and has no energy. Studies show that jails and prisons provide a stage for health problems, disease, and failed health (early death) for all inmates, no matter how minor or serious their charges are. Something needs to be done now! This has been going on for decades. The health services number is [protected]. A lot of individuals have been calling, advocating for certain vegan individuals to receive their requested vegan meals, but as of this morning, they still are not receiving. We are being told that they do not know when said individual will receive his meal. Please help
