Cruises.com review: False advertising
I purchased and subsequently cancelled the purchase of Free at Sea that offered an unlimited open bar. I also upgraded to Free at Sea Plus. I anticipated a refund for the basic Free at Sea or a refund up to the cost of a basic drinks package.
On 21 October 2026 I contacted Cruises.com regarding a refund. The customer service agent informed me that “Open Bar” does not indicate free alcohol.
This answer is unacceptable. An internet search consistently shows “open bar” as free drinks. Even Miriam Webster states the definition of “open bar” as a bar where drinks are served free.
I have only used cruises.com toll free number and spoken to the agents.
Desired outcome: A refund up to the value of a drinks package and/or they stop listing “Open Bar” in their ads if it doesn’t have the same meaning as the dictionary.
