Movie stops after a commercial break and goes right back to the beginning or resets the app entirely . We have found that what we have to do is fast forward through the commercial breaks which means pausing the movie every once in a while to see where it's at and then when the commercial stars to commend you fast-forward over where the commercial was going to play then a commercial plays in the movie resumes otherwise it doesn't work at all. There is a great amount of commercials which is to be expected but it does seem to be a bit too many. But the thing that's the most frustrating for me is that it reverts back to the very beginning of the movie and sometimes cancels out of the app altogether after a commercial break. So now it's pause look and fast-forward the movie it has to be well worth my while I'd rather watch Hulu which has commercials but nothing to the ridiculous extent that this one is.

Lately the movies freeze and stay frozen. Its annoying and maddening. Plus the fact that one has to put up with the same over and over and over commercials..
It would seem to me that if Crackle wants more viewership, it would care about the problems that its viewers encounter and fix those annoying problems. The commercials help subsidize the channel Crackle and in return the commercials get their advertisments across to the consumers.
And why doesn' t Crackle update movies, its not like we are asking for a lot.
annoying automatic promos
I am sick of that automatic promo when I get to the Crackle channel on the Roku- you know the one, with that annoying fanboy going on and on about how great Milo Ventimilia is. I just want to search for something to watch on this channel and don't need to hear his promo. Of course there's no way under "options" to disable this? I won't be on here for long.

will not resume free first commercial break
This is the second time I have installed the cracks app... It will not resume playing either TV shows or movies after the first commercial break... I went through the trouble shooting ad reset my data storage, however that did not fix problems... After first commercial break a pop up screen says that there are errors in selection, but if I pick another show the same thing happens after first commercial break...

I have been able to watch Comedians in Cars until a month ago. I would open up an email with a single shot on it and the screen would go blank. I went to my bookmark for Crackle and I could no longer view any of the videos. I notified your company and they sent me an email asking questions; my Adobe Flash player is 23, I have the latest upgrade to Safari and I have fast speed internet. Yet, I still was not able to view “Cars.”
I let your technical support team know without response. I then sent a complaint yesterday. When I check “Cars” again later in the day, I could view the videos. Today, I opened an email from you with a single shot on it and it could not be viewed nor could anything on the “Cars” site.

way too many commercials!!
I loved Crackle and used it a lot in the past, but now there's too many commercials. It is absolutely impossible to watch anything, because of endless commercials! I thought there was something wrong with my PC, maybe virus or something like that, but then I went online and found all the reviews. Terrible. I have no idea what are they thinking!

Crackle is the worst website to watch anything! The content they have is actually good but the commercials are so intrusive and relentlessly repetitive that the viewing experience is a real nightmare! It is impossible to watch anything, because every 5 minutes there is a commercial. I tried to watch a movie, but every 5 minutes, over and over again there was the same commercial. The last one was 4 minutes long! I gave up in disgust and uninstalled this horrible app. I think the only purpose of this app is to show endless commercials. There are much better services to see your favorite movies. Don't use Crackle, it is a complete waste of time.
Every 5 minutes is about 8 ads. And sometimes the LG G5 ad just repeats and repeats and repeats, you have to get out of the movie and you cant resume. Always have to start over. Sheer stupidity

This website is ridiculous! It is impossible to watch anything on this site, because of endless commercial breaks. I tried to watch a movie, but every 10 minutes it was interrupted by a commercial! And every commercial lasted for about 5-7 minutes. There's nothing wrong with commercials at the beginning and the end of the movie, but not every 10 minutes! I think the only purpose of this app is to show commercials. I was extremely mad and disgusted, so I just uninstalled this horrible app. Don't waste your time, because there are much better apps to see your favorite shows and movies.

Crackle recently changed with background porn playing. This is absolutely disgusting when searching for content. They also ask a user to register with Facebook and then the user has no means of removing the personal information they have collected. The de-activate link does not show and thus not work either. Thus a few RED Flags to not use Crackle.

My friend advised me to watch movies through the website www.crackle.com. I was really disappointed in it, ‘coz it was mentioned that it was for free, but almost all movies were paid. The registration was for free, but they asked to provide card number. This website is scamming, so please stay away from them. This website really rips customers off, so please don’t deal with them.

I'll be watching a movie and about 1/2 way through it just stops running and I find that I'm back at the Roku Main Screen. So you don't have a "Resume" - have to start all over again and you don't allow for fast forward. What a waste of time
All I can say about this site, is that it has a good interface. Navigation is very easy. Too bad nothing is available there. There is 1 (ONE!) show listed in the show guide of this site, and it is, like Trenches, that I went there to see, unavailable.
adult ads (r-rated) during pg films
While watching a PG movie with kids, every 7-8 minute, there is an ad. Right before the ad, NBC airs an ad for Hanibal, showing a person preparing / cooking a human leg. R-rated. Scared the kids to death.
In what world is this allowed ? Who thought it was a good idea to show an ad for an R-rated tv-series during PG showings ?
I strongly recommend staying away from Crackle.

Freezes up too easily and too often. Every time I have to refresh, restarts the commercials. and then freezes up again. pain. in. the. butt. Sad that Sony can't do better.

I canceled cable tv because of too many advertisements and not enough choice on what they play and also they repeat the shows so often and mostly play old movies. I tried crackle.com and lo' and behold...advertisement forced on us every 7 or so minutes and they do not even break into the show a reasonable manner. It's downright offensive and angering to suddenly have the show stop. I muted the tv every time but still it's horrible. I have tried to remove my account but apparently they only allow deactivating the account. Apparently they will keep your info indefinitely, forever...whatever. :( I am highly disgusted with this site and will stick with sites like netflix and hulu. It's not only crackle that is keeping the info of the accounts but 3rd party unknown and untrusted companies are as well. I give this site 100, 000 thumbs down.
All you need is AdBlock and it, s free on Google as a App.It stops all those adds from ever showing up again.Works on all sites as well.Hope this helps.

The movie app does not work properly. the first 20 min of the movies works fine, then the advertising begins and goes into a continuous loop mode repeating ads over and over.
so you watch the first 20 min of the video then its locked up in ads.

frequent, repetitive commercials + lousy selection
When I first got my Roku I checked out Crackle and wasn't exactly impressed, but there were 4 or 5 TV shows and a handful of movies that were OK. I decided to go with it because it's free. I wasn't thrilled by the frequent Skittles commercials (they seem to be Crackle's primary advertiser), but I was impressed by the picture quality. Then in October they pulled almost all the content I liked. Now their TV content seems to be mostly Anime, which i do NOT like.. Frequent, repetitive commercials + lousy selection = no Crackle in my Roku channel lineup. Sony can do better.
I understand not liking commercials, but its a free site you are going to get commercials. As far as the selction, I have had Crackle for a couple of years and yes there are anime shows but there are also plenty of regular shows. I dont think the selection has dwindled since I have been using it.

Too many of the same commercials and too many commercials. They don't update the playlist often enough, too many (crappy) foreign films either poorly dubbed and or no sub-titling. This is speaking from the Crackle Xbox experience. Today they started showing a beer commercial. Beer commercials being aired on the Xbox 360 where the majority of users are under the age of 18. Crackle is simply around to collect the advertising revenue. They do very little to accommodate the end user. they should have called it Crapple.

I wanted to watch the comedy Dr. Ken -- -- starts out with one commercial - show plays for abut 3 or 4 minutes -- then SIX Commercials come on before the next scene of Dr. Ken.. Sorry, can't stand excessive commercial breaks, so, I will just end up buying the season -- I immediately removed the Roku channel -- Roku had an option to say why -- but no choice for "commercial pile-on" !
Crackle is terrible, way to many ads. Not worth watching, every few minutes the show is interrupted. I wont watch anything else from now on . Crackle is a worthless entertainment experience.
Crackle keeps showing the same ad for voting NO on California prop 61...over and over and over again. Wtf! Every 7 minutes that friggin commercial comes on and repeats itself 6 times in a row...seriously?! Now I'm going to vote yes on prop 61 because I have been so aggravated

Seemed okay at first, I would still rank NetFlix, RedBox, other sources of movies much higher. Ads are annoying. Sony owns this, why ads? Out of the blue, I am getting "Service cannot be accessed at this time because server replied invalid information" errors. This makes no sense and there appears to be nothing I can do about. Another wasted app on my POS Sony BlueRay Player (BTW, definitely check out the LG BlueRay - don't go with Sony).
Crackle TV constantly stops playing and displays the message "Unable to Continue Now. Please Try Again Later." My Internet vitals are 44.9MPS/10.5MPS. Netflix runs on the laptops and Samsung TV simultaneously with absolutely no issues. About every six months, for 9 years I try again using Crackle but it is always the same. I have gone online and registered. I have deleted Crackle then reinstalled it. I have paused movies in the beginning and waited for 10 too 15 minutes thinking that Crackle may need a little time to download. I have tried "Activating A Device" online but I cannot get Crackle to generate an activation code. Crackle does two things. It either will not start at all and displays the message "Unable to Play at This Time, Please Try Again Later" or it will begin playing a movie and after 5 or so minutes stop playing and again displaying the same message. When restarting the movie Crackle will either resume playing and crash again after a few seconds or it starts at the beginning of the movie and then crashes again at the same point as before. I really wanted to give Crackle a try but if it won't work as is a constant source of irritation why bother. I hope that a workable solution and not some B/S "We're sorry. Try unplugging bla, bla, bla."

I have tried to watch movies and tv shows on crackle and it is so bad. I continue to try to use and and the video drops while the audio continues to play. The movie or show will start over or just stop. I have even had to delete the app and put it back on as it will just get stuck on a black screen and not do anything. The commercials that play so often always work PERFECT! So what can I say It took me 2 hours to watch a 30 min episode of Bewitched.

Crackle doesn't have the best selection of movies, but there are enough that I WOULD use the service IF it weren't for the incessant commercials. I understand services like Crackle make money off advertisements, but don't the Crackle executives read reviews of their site? The commercials are so frequent that the viewing experience is ruined--which means I'd rather NOT watch a movie than be rudely jarred out of entertainment-mode with garish, tacky, too-frequent commercials. Business people remark often that time is money. If they believe this, then they insult us by wasting our valuable time with commercial-overload. Better to pay for a movie, enjoy the 80 minutes, and get to bed, than sit through the insulting gibberish the ad companies try to push down my throat. And the irony is whatever product I DO happen to catch from an intrusive ad, I have such a negative feeling about I'm SURE not to buy it. Enough ads!
I'm only watching because I found a binge worthy old show, that I unfortunately cannot watch any where else. The incessant commercials are so annoying and ruin the experience. I will never watch a show or movie on this channel again. Just not worth it.
Won’t be using crackle again!
In general I don't mind watching ad supported television but Crackle pushed me to my limit. Four to 6 unskippable ads every 5 minutes. An hour and a half movie takes an extra hour to watch. If that weren't bad enough if you accidentally back out of the app you have to watch ads to get back in. I will pay to rent a movie before I ever use Crackle again.
Constantly interrupted in the crackle app by buffering it is maddening. I don’t recall it being this way last year but man this year it’s terrible. I don’t think I’ll watch it any longer and I agree with the other comments about all the advertisements. In fact when each series started the advertisement would come on and the show I was watching started playing over the ad?!?!? What’s up with that🥴?
I watched a show on Crackle (The Indianapolis) on my tv via ROkU, and the commercials weren't too bad. I think it was the same commercial every time but I don't watch commercials anyway. So I would choose interact with ad, and wait 30 seconds using my laptop to pass the time.
Then another movie came on (First Kill) and it looked okay, so I watched it also. Toward the middle of the movie, there was a commercial every 5 minutes (very annoying). And it was the same commercial every time. Now how is that gonna benefit anyone even the company paying for the commercial?
After about the 10th commercial break, I told myself I will not be watching Crackle anymore. Adios.
I flip around between services (Roku, Redbox, Hulu, Newsy, Newson, Youtube, and Amazon). I get them all free, Hulu via my phone service and Amazon via Amazon Prime. I haven't watched Crackle since it was the first free channel I saw when I purchased a ROKU stick about 2 years ago. There are too many other free channels.
I also haven't paid for HBO or Netflix during that time. My plan was to purchase a streaming service for a month and watch all the shows and switch to another one next month. But with all the free content, I haven't even paid for one in a year or so. But I will never watch Crackle again. It is way too annoying even if it was the only free service.
Btw, Youtube is great for watching cable news as they put all the clips I'm interested in on Youtube, and I don't have to watch most of the boring stuff.
Should change the name to Crapple instead!
Sony should take a serious look at The Roku Channel. Like Crackle, commercials are shown with TRC content. Big difference though. The number of irritatingly incessant commercials shown on Crackle is obscene. Get a grip Sony. You should know better than this!
Thanks for telling the TRUTH folks, but of course what else would you expect from a money grubbing company like Sony since they've shown their [censored] too many times by refusing to lower prices on their game systems over the years while nintendo and xbox did lower theirs. I won't be installing it.

Well i've noticed something, when i watch crackle on my chromebook i DO NOT see any ads at all, so instead of using my smart tv i just hook up my laptop to my tv and enjoy watching it on a 60 inch screen.

why do the movies stop and go while playing. it is frustrating and not worth sitting through a movie which normally would be an hour and a half and is now 2 hours because of all the stops.
