T-Mobile teamed up with TLC Worldwide Marketing to create an incentive programing for purchasing new cell phones. They offered free airline tickets to anyone that purchased a new cell phone within particular parameters. My parents earned several tickets by following ALL of their guidelines, however, since then they have been unable to collect their incentive reward (the free airline tickets). After sending in two $50.00 checks to process the airline tickets no tickets have been given to them and yet the checks were cashed and the money is gone. We have left MULTIPLE voice messages and at times have actually spoken to a few TLC representatives on the phone but NO ONE has helped us. This has turned out to be a huge scam.

I was walking in my local Mall when a T-Mobile booth advertised a free flight with upgrading my talk plan, Thanksgiving 2007. I signed up and since then have had the worst experience ever! I filled out the form and mailed it in and confirmed a call with t mobile customer service agent. A month later I received nothing and was told I needed to wait 2 billing cycles. I was advised to fill it out just in case and mail the form in again to TLC. I waited and waited! No Booking Request Form was sent to me! Spoke with TLC representative and they blamed this problem on Tmobile. Spoke with Tmobile and they blamed this problem on TLC! I was smart enough to do a conference call and had representatives from both company's blaming eachother on the phone call! Wow I was in shock to hear such incompetence at both levels! Then TLC requested that T-Mobile cellular service escalate me to Tmobile Business care! Due to every agent from Tmobile customer care requiring to do research every time and placing me on hold for several minutes! T-Mobile Business care had no over the phone support and required me to email and fax my complaint to them. I had replies on the phone and emails telling me they were so sorry! After about 7 months later and 200 free bonus call minutes and a $15 courtesy credit from tmobile on my bill, I finally received the booking request form! I then called in December of 2008 to Tmobile saying I was ready to book my flight and they transferred me to the TLC department. TLC said I could book my flight online or over the phone. Then after a few minutes of speaking with a TLC representative I was told I needed to have the booking request form in their possession 30 days in advance, that I was on an older promotion. I was just invited by my Utah Congressman to attend Obama's historical inauguration on January 20th 2009. I would need to pick up the ticket on January 19th. TLC said I would not be able to get a flight to a selected approved airport on January 19th. I am so frustrated with TLC and their incompetent customer service! They have obviously made big mistakes with my tmobile customers! I have left MULTIPLE voice messages and at times have actually spoken to a few TLC representatives on the phone but NO ONE has helped us. This has turned out to be a huge scam.

Funny thing-

This is the same thing that we are find out as well. I believe we should sue them for false advertising! Let get a website together and go for it! I know that their are a lot of people with t he same complaint because a Rep. From TLC Marketing told me. We are due to fly on February 13, 2009 and we are not even with a booking agent yet! I have called a million times since July 2008 and we did all the required rules and they stated, but we get NOTHING! should have known... This year's promotions to keep you as a customer...doesn't sound any better, seems as though the process is better but will it produce actual airline tickets??????

It is shameful for T-Mobile, I was also lured into signing up for the service by this promotion that turned out to be a scam. No one returned my calls from TLC and all my efforts to get a ticket thru the internet have gone waste too. Anyone, suggest a remedy?

I re-signed a contract with T - Mobile and got an upgrade on my phone to get my free companion ticket. I had absolutly no problem with TLC. I got my pin # in a email a few weeks after signing, called them up and they were very helpfull. I browsed some travel sites online and they matched the price less 15%. I got two tickets on Continental for under $300.00 bucks. When you call use the dial by name for Michelle she was the one that booked my fights, very nice. It was worth it for me!!

I will give calling this Michelle person a try. My experience with this company is more like the other posters. I had my pin and went online to book my flight on a Monday. The price I was given for my buy one get one free flight from Honolulu to LA was $994.60. After thinking this must be the price for two tickets I went on expedia to compare prices. The price for the exact departure and return flight was less than half that on expedia. When I called to question this I was told that they bought these tickets ahead of time for the promotion so the price may be slightly higer. Over 50% is more than slightly higher. I spoke to an agent and was told that this flight did qualify for a price match plus 15% plus fees and that I would be contacted by phone by Friday to book the flight. When I wasn't contacted by Friday morning I called back to see if I could call and book the flight. They assured me I would be contacted and that they would sent an urgent reminder email to the department that books the flights. When I asked for their number to call direct I was told that they do not have a number. I said I find it hard to believe that you do not have a telephone number for another department in your own company. I said I felt like they were trying to delay my purchase of the ticket in hopes that the flight would sell out and they wouldn't have to match it. I was assured by the agent that even if the flight was sold out I would still get a matching price for an earlier or later flight that day. Let's hope that they do call me soon to book this flight. If not I may look into cancelling my plan with t-mobile. This reflects very poorly on them. I have never had problems with t-moblie directly but this is not excusable.

I had similar experience with TLC Worldwide Marketing. I got my free airline ticket “gift” promotion from HSBC last year for opening an account. I sent in my Booking Request Form more than three months ahead of my planned date of travel. When I did not hear from them, I called them from time to time. Most of the time I would get a voice mail; other times they would just tell me that someone will call me back. When it got too close to my departure date, I just gave up and bought my own ticket instead. What made this worse was that I got a 1099 from HSCB for $427. So now I have to pay tax on this as well. What I got was a “punishment” and not a gift.
