To Whom it may concern,

I am writing this letter today to address a serious issue with a company I had the misfortune of having to deal with recently.
My mother recently had her vehicle repossed and although I am placing no blame on Honda financial
(she is getting forgetful) I do have to address the horrid repo company that was contracted to take her vehicle. These people came late at night and took her car from her driveway and the next morning I got a call from her frantic thinking it was stolen. I contacted the sheriff's office and was advised it had been repossed. I had no clue it was even behind. Well she and I decided it was better to let Honda financial keep the car as I do not want her driving anymore but we had to go to this repo company's office in Punta Gorda to retrieve her belongings.
I was appalled at the conditions this Sunwest Recovery company has at their so called office.
They are in a dirt lot in a mobile trailer that still has wheels! It was raining the day we had to pick up my mothers things and I was advised by that rude woman inside that my mother would have to sign the papers because it was her car, but, they had only stairs and no way can she manage them. My mother had to sit in the car and I had to track back and forth through the rain and mud to have her sign and have her license copied. We were there trying to sort it out for so long that she needed to use the facilities however all they could provide was a nasty port o john off to the side of the trailer in the mud. After all was said and done I saw them take the bag of my mothers belongings out of her car where apparently they had been stored, the car was not even locked! Some of the vehicles in their yard even had their windows down, thank god my mothers were not or I'm afraid her belongings would have been ruined.
I can not imagine someone running a buisness this way and I hope I never have to deal with people like these again. I feel you should know what kind of people you employ as I believe the kind of companies you contract reflect poorly on your buisness. I do not blame Honda financial for the actions of this reposession company however I will be advising my friends and co-workers to think twice before getting a loan with any company associated with Sunwest Recovery.
I wish to thank you for your time,
Mrs. Diana D.

The initial story posted by southernmom603 was completely fabricated by an employee of another repossession company located in same area. This is the way some people operate. Unable to rely on their own accomplishments. Probably because they have very few.

Mr. Michael V:
1. She clearly stated that SHE was the one forced to traipse back and forth to bring the papers to her mother.
2. A business is a business. No-one cares about your operating expenses. If you choose to be a ### repo-guy, you can at least be professional about it. Have a professionally managed office. There is no need for it to look like a crap hole. Providing facilities and making your customers comfortable is just common courtesy. Because, like it or not, these "debtors" are paying your salary.
3. Why should you care about rolling up the windows? Because the rain will damage the car doofus. How long do you think you will stay in business if the company who hired you finds that you showed no concern for the property they entrusted you with?

You sound like the typical white-trash caveman who feeds off of the misfortune of others. Enjoy karma dude, it's going to be a bumpy ride for you.

re: it ain't yours till it's paid
In the future, when you want to dun someone for poor spelling and grammar, you might want to check your OWN spelling and grammar first. It's quite amusing to see the superior attitude you have, being so smug and trying to act like you know-it-all when you don't even have proper command for the English language. I'm truly amazed that you know so little and so fluently.

In general I very seldom if ever respond to online post, but your 's was too much to resist. To start off I determined your not the shapest knife in the drawer. WHY? spelling. 1) your illiterate version (reposession ) education correction= ( repossession ) 2) your illiterate version ( buisness ) education correction ( business ). You state Honda Financial set in motion determination to repo her vehicle yet that is acceptable you = ( She is getting forgetful) HUH! she forgot to pay her car note, but intresting she didn't forget to realize car is missing from driveway only to be informed car was repo'd by the sheriff's dept. At that point both of you agree it's better to let " better to let Honda Financial keep the car" Seriously it took an act of repossession for both of you to agree that she should not drive anymore. ( refer back to top of post ) Your not the sharpest knife in drawer. let's explore your opinion your mother is " getting forgetful" what about FPL don't pay your bill they turn off power, or Comcast cable or C.C.U. (water dept.) do you and your mother again mutually decide do not need these bill's either? You state they are in a mobile trailer, wrong mobile trailer's are what people reside in, what they are in is a 2006 Modular office, Hurricane wind load of 149 mph ( that's a category- 4 - ) same as hurricane " charley August 13, 2004. You mention it still has the wheel's on, you are correct that reason is because charlotte co. fL. CODES impose's that condition in the event of damage unit can be transported away w/ out delay to weld on axles, tongue and wheels etc. Voice your concern to the county not occupant. Oh and by the way you are upset with the dirt lot? Again oh bright one it's shale not dirt Florida is 3 feet above sea level there is no dirt in s/west florida IT"S SHALE. You also are critical on fact as raining ( act of god where I went to school) or I like the they had stair's Yep only location in Florida with stairs! or rude woman made her sign papers sure why not make sure rightful owners recieves personal property, you only get one bite of the apple to do it right the first time. Let's not forget you had to track back and forth in rain, again ascertain's your IQ right around (minus - 29) How long does it require in time to sign name ( 2-3 seconds doctors do it in less than 1- second) or better yet photo copy a driver license, silly isn't it according to your post it took so long your mom had to use the facilities WOW -WOW I'm speechless. Note - you might look into getting her set up w/a colostomy bag. In summary you mention your going to advise your friends and c0-workers to look into who is going to repo there car if they are (forgetful) or dont pay not sure if honda or any other financial provider would want to add any more loser's on there portfolio. Just a hunch but it would appear author Mrs.Diana D. has a backdoor approach to elimanate te repo competition. I suggest get a strategy, business plan, enroll in college fo success.

I am responding to your complaint letter, I don't see the "serious issue" with this company. First of all, Your "Mother" put herself in this financial situation. There is no reason to blame the financial institution or the company who recovered the Collateral.
I know a few things about the repossession business. Not only is it dangerous, but it is also expensive to run a Repossession Company. Due to Florida State law, the best time to recover a vehicle from someone is in the middle of the night, while the "debtor" (that's what they call the person that has failed to make their payments) is asleep.
What kind of "Conditions" were you expecting when you showed up at the Repossession Company? Red carpet? Brick paved lot? Fortune Five Hundred building? I don't get it..
Remember these people are just meeting you for the first time, They do not know you. They have to deal with people daily that are upset that they just lost their means of transportation. Chances are you came in with an attitude, and the woman inside responded the same. (that's what I would have done) Treat people the way you would want to be treated. So, now you're upset that they were nice enough to bring the paper work that needed to be signed out to your mother? That doesn't sound rude to me.. It's not there fault it rained that day, bring an umbrella like everyone else in Florida..
Now, I know I don't like strange people, that I don't know using my restroom facilities. So, again you're upset because they furnish a Port-o-John for people they don't even know. Again, I don't get it..
So they were nice enough to bag up your "Mothers" belongings, and store them.. Normal people would assume the car is unlocked, otherwise they wouldn't be able to bag up the belongings.
Most vehicles these days come with power windows, If the vehicle was recovered in the middle of the night without a key, there is no way to put up the windows. (If the debtor didn't care to put up there windows, why should the recovery company?) Also, how do you know the cars outside with the windows down, didn't belong to the employees? That's right, you don't...
My guess is your "friends and co-workers" don't plan on buying a vehicle and having it repossessed.. So, your complaints will fall on deaf ears.
Most people, unlike your "Mother" make their payments as agreed.
Only a small percentage of people get repossessed.
I feel sorry for the people that waste their time reading your complaint, They could of spent that time reading something constructive.
Mr. Michael V.
