The company Power Imex Co is real scam, so please don’t deal with them. We bought some stuff from them, but after these ### got our money in amount of $10, 000, they simply started to avoid us and haven’t provided any precise info. Real scam, so better don’t deal with them or you can lose everything. I wonder if there are other people, who had the same experience. Let’s share views about this company.

They asked to pay upfront 50% and when the product arrives at the port of departure, they demand extra payment for the container deposit, then they asked for more payment when then product departed and in transit.
When they asked for payment for the second time, we cancelled the order, they keep saying will refund us back, but 3 weeks has passed, no news from them. They no longer reply to my messages.
Only 1 person from CTA Food and Starch whatsapp number I was in touch with, the other company number, and shipping company number cannot be reached at all.

We did not contact this companies directly. We had contact with few companies on Alibaba, while non of them yet answered, we have received in one evening few answers from companies we have not contacted and which are not even listed on Alibaba. I suspect that they are all scammers.

My personal advice against being scammed, maybe someone can make use out of it:
1. Check the domain name: http://websitepart.com
and here: http://quantroute.com/domain (when and where the web-site is registered)
2. Ask to send the company registration documents.
3. Check the company documents with local Dutch chamber of Commerce.
4. Check all data apart - phone number, names, web-site or company names for: 1) scam of fraud search in Google 2) Citations of references online.
5. Ask we can visit the site! (if they say after you pay – red flag!)
6. Be careful with third-world countries a priory.
7. Do not make any prepayments, never ever!
8. Gmail or hotmail e-mail address – alert!
9. Strange name or surname – alert!
10. Address or names do not match in documents/web-site/e-mail – alert!
11. If business goes too easy or offer is too good – alert!
12. When a company`s name imitates a larger company or company which is no longer existing – alert.
13. When the goods you want to purchase are forbidden to be exported from this country – alert. (Check the law yourself).
14. Use Google maps to check the location. If there is flat building instead of a warehouse – alert!

always do video chats. if it is a real supplier, then you would see physical infrastructure frequently. otherwise they'd avoid video / you'd see residential environment always.

I agree with you 100% on Power Imex and thank you for both your posts.
I was in talks with another Scrap Metal dealer named Agricola RT who said they are Hungary based but I realized too late that the company is a sham and the contact who went by the name Rafael Gonzalez is a con artist. They even supplied quite good fake shipping docs and Cerficates of Origin. I asked Agricola RT for a third party customer reference and they gave me the contact details for someone who who used the name "Anthony" from Power Imex in Thailand. This guy is also a con artist but not a good one. I spoke to him on the phone and asked many business and personal questions. When I asked him where he is from, he paused for about 7 seconds and finally in a heavy Nigerian accent, tells me he's.." um..Cuban..and umm.. British). Too many other pieces of evidence to list here but the conclusion is 100% certain for us.
Anyone who reads this I warn you in the strongest way possible.
DO NOT DEAL WITH AGRICOLA RT OR POWER IMEX.
Anyone who reads these please copy paste to any other site that may be helpful to any honest other buyers or traders. Bear in mind the names of people i was given are only what they used for me, they could change those in an instant.
Did you manage to solve the problem?We are in contact with the same company in order to imports some goods in Greece and i was a bit frightened by your post. Would it be possible to reply if they sent the goods finally or are you still believe that they are not reliable. What kind of goods did you buy and what was the exact payment method?
they proposed to us to send them a 20 % before the shipment with bank transfer and they want an L/C at sight for the rest but we still have doubts.
