I called Loss Mitigation Services from a flier I received in the mail. I was in financial trouble and was behind on my mortgage. The flier looked like it was from my lender so I thought it was ok. The representative told me that they process the application for my lender, so I went along with it and filled out the application with all the paperwork they asked for. The next day the review department called me and said that i was approved and they needed 3, 600$ to start the modification. I paid it. When I asked what the 3, 600 was for the review manager Leighton Ward said it was a fee that 'incurred' from my lender. It's been 4 months now and nothing was going on, I called almost everyday and spoke a another person name Paul Valdez and he kept telling me same thing that my lender is reviewing it. So I started to wonder why did approve me in the first place if my lender still was reviewing it. I am so stressed out from this whole thing and I called my lender to see if they approved me yet, and they said they never got anything from me or the company. I felt so betrayed and disappointed because I trusted them to help me with my loan and I was told that they work side by side with my lender; and that if I tried it myself my application would get rejected. At this point I am going to lose my home. I am going to look at this as a learning experience. I am going to go to the attorney general's office and report this SCAM. I urge anyone who is in the same boat as me to contact your attorney general, this is the only way to stop this company from taking advantage of vulnerable homeowners.
