This is regarding hair in ITC Sunfeast Farmlite Oats & Raisins cookie from Box of Batch number: 20:42; Packing date: 06/02/14. I have posted the complaint on Twitter and Facebook and some other consumer Forums. The company has contacted me but they have neither offered to replace the cookies nor have they shown seriousness towards addressing a seemingly hygiene and safety issue at their factory.
The larger issue needs to be addressed and the Batch of cookies needs to be recalled alongwith an enquiry into their hygiene systems and standards. #HairInTheCookie #ITC #Sunfeast
@Don Tarr - The issue is not about a baked hair in a cookie, it is about a hair or any other contaminant! God knows what else could be inside such a cookie! If we go by the response of the company this seems to be one of many slips. They have taken 5 days to try to meet the consumer and they haven't shown any seriousness towards the issue as well. All I know is many people may inadvertently have stuff that doesn't need to be in their stomach. All because probably lack or ineffectiveness of hygiene, health / safety standards and procedures.
Just did some reading on this "premium brand" of biscuits #ITC #Sunfeast . Guess What I found (Just type Sunfeast Consumer Complaint on #Google ) -
Complaints ranging from button, beetles and hair in the cookie #HairInTheCookie to
biscuit packets weighing much less than printed and even burnt biscuits!
One customer even has written that after the company collected the cookie sample they stopped responding and didn't even replace the humble cookie box!
Results from my Facebook Survey on how ITC Sunfeast should respond to this issue. The results have been shared with ITC when they came to meet yesterday. Their response has not been serious. They'll organise a meeting with their senior now. Let us wait and see. IT'S BEEN 7 DAYS SINCE THE ISSUE WAS FIRST REPORTED AND NO ACTION TAKEN BY #ITC #SUNFEAST ON THE #HairInTheCookie issue

Just concluded Facebook Survey results on what should ITC Sunfeast have done after they received my complaint about Hair in the cookie of their Farmlite product.
https://apps.facebook.com/my-surveys/view/46zts9y62m
83% of the responses were that ITC should either Recall the batch of cookies or send alert to dealers! What has been done in 7 days from when complaint was made - Nothing!
A hair was found in a cookie of ITC Sunfeast Farmlite purchased from a local store. The matter has been raised on Facebook and Twitter but the company hasn't shown any seriousness. They just want to recover the cookie sample without doing anything about replacement, recall of the cookie batch or sending alerts to their dealers on the cookies. As this is a serious breach. Who knows what else could be in some other packets. The matter needs to be investigated seriously by the company or Government and a resolution must be made with quality and hygiene systems checked and corrected!
Also for all those reading please fill in the below poll on FB if possible since I intend to send this to ITC Sunfeast:

Strange... A brand like ITC SUNFEAST FARMLITE is expected to maintain d best of hygiene n to deliver quality products to their end users. A Consumer does not rely upon a name for its taste but for its quality, and finding a hair in a premium product and the response from the concerned authorities regarding the same is really pathetic and not worth being a brand which v trusted with closed eyes...
The outlook needs to change big time!
I think they need to be increasingly concerned about their sub standard processes and hygiene conditions in their plant. Mere replacing the pack or trying the pacify the consumer by calling him is a very short sighted response and reeks of non seriousness.
Fully agree that the whole batch should be recalled along with setting up an inquiry to clean up the mess !
With all the safety procedures and health assurances, if companies such as #ITCSunfeastFarmlite can't maintain basic hygiene factors then their products are not worth buying. If anyone purchases a product/service, then they bestow certain amount of trust. I am sure if the senior authorities at ITC Sunfeast Farmlite would have found hair strands in their food, they wouldn't have consumed it neither would they have had offered it to their friends & relatives!
Hair in the cookies...Pathetic to say the least.
Strange. Commercial bakery cookies are baked and packaged by automated machinery, with no human contact until you opened the package.
