Ecoquest international / Finance rip-off!
In February I ordered an air purifier from Ecoquest International and was set up on a payment schedule with Best Finance to pay $133.00 a month for 5 months to be automatically withdrawn from my visa card. The first of April, after 3 months of payments, I contacted Ecoquest and Best Finance to tell them I couldn't afford to make the payments anymore. I also expressed that I hadn't even removed the purifier from it's box and that I would be returning it to Ecoquest via US Postal service with Insurance and a Signature Confirmation. The machine did arrive to Ecoquest and was signed for. Ecoquest sent me a letter approx. 10 days later claiming that they will not accept the machine and will return it to me and that I have to pay for the machine. In May I received my credit card statement and noticed that Best Finance had charged me for two payments. I called my credit card company and filed a dispute against Best Finance. I have since filed a complaint with BBB in Nashville, I have not heard a word from the Better Business Bureau and I have also filed a complaint with the Consumer Ripoff website. I was surpised at the complaint volume filed by other consumers againts Ecoquest and Best Finance the Ripoff site, most even claiming that their credit was ruined now. Is there anything that can be done to prevent Ecoquest and Best Finance from not honoring their product returns, ripping consumers off and ruining their credit? Please help.
