Choice Hotels International will not issue refund

Checked in at the Quality Inn and Suites Bayview in Pensacola Florida. 7601 Scenic Hwy Pensacola, Fl 32504, on July 10 and paid cash for the entire stay. We were scheduled to stay there 4 night and we told them that the card on file was just to hold the reservation and should not be charged. We decided to check out 2 days early because we thought the motel wasn't very clean and we weren't happy with the beach in Pensacola so we went to Destin for the remainder of our trip. When we checked out they said they would have to credit the debit card back. We were confused because they shouldn't have charged the card at all. We were told that the GM was in a meeting and could not come speak with us but the front desk clerk would relay the message. When the clerk went to refund the amount she ended up charging the debit card three more times for our stay. The front desk clerk said she would have the GM handle it after her meeting and have her call us. We called our bank to find out what we could do because our account was overdrawn $847 because of the Quality Inn and Suites. The bank said the GM had to fax over a sheet with information on it about the refund and the it had to be signed by the GM before the funds could be put back. We gave all this information to the front desk clerk to give to the GM. We called back that afternoon to see if the GM had faxed over the information and we were told she was still in a meeting and had not gotten to it yet. We called back the next day, July 13, because my payroll check was deposited into my account and because of the charges and overdraft fees it took my entire check. We were not able to pay important bills and we were only left with the cash we had on hand until this was resolved. After we found out nothing had been faxed over we called the Quality Inn and Suites again and we were told the GM was not in for the day yet. We explained to the front desk clerk what was going on because it was a different one from the day before and she said she would text her GM about the issue and they would call us back. We called back hours later and was told once again that the GM was not in and the bank informed us that the fax had not been sent in so the funds could not be released. Because of this more overdraft fees were charged to my account and my account was still negative. We were told she would in at 11:00 am on July 14 and we could call back and speak to her then. We were headed back home July 14 so we, once again, called the motel at 11:30 and, once again, we were told the GM was not in for the day yet. We left message after message for the GM with the front desk clerks. The late night front desk clerk on July 10 took our cash and told us that the card would not be charged. The next front desk clerk charged it and then charged it three more times. And spoke to the GM in person and told her the situation. And still the GM could not speak with us directly. On our way home we called again later that afternoon and was told the GM was not on property. Numerous messages were left for the GM to fax over the information and to call us back and she never did. I'm pretty sure the GM is suppose to handle situations like this instead of having the front desk clerk be the one to handle it. We called numerous time and left numerous messages and was never contacted back and nothing was faxed to the bank to release the funds in my account. I am furious! The GM at one point also told us she was not aware of the situation when we were at the front desk when the clerk went to the back to tell her the situation. I'm furious at the fact that the General Manager of this motel didn't think it was important enough to contact us to resolve this issue. We were charged $1400 for a 2 night stay at the Quality Inn and Suites and I want that back. I want my money back and I want the overdraft fees paid back to us. All she had to do was fax a piece of paper to fix this and she didn't do it. We gave her plenty of information to get this done and she still did not do it. We asked if there was an assistant manager and we were told there wasn't one to speak to. So she was the only one that could resolve the issue and she didn't. I'm hoping since I am reaching out to HR/corporate about this issue that this issue will be resolved and maybe the GM of the Quality Inn and Suites will learn how to deal with a situation like this. Choice Hotels International clarion inn hotel in pueblo colorado

We called to ensure they offered a hot buffet breakfast before making reservations but we we arrived in the dining area for breakfast there was a giant board stating that they were sorry but as of July 12th the hot buffet breakfast would no longer be served. They should have mentioned this when we called. The white blanket on our bed appeared to have yellow urine stains on it so I requested for a new clean blanket but the second one turned out to be dirtier then the first one was. The hot tub did not work it was cold and dirty and when I asked the man restocking the pool towels if he could check why the hot tub wasn't hot he just said no I can't do that, it's the managers job. Which apparently he never even told because no one ever came to check why it wasn't working at all. We also had a problem with our room keys not working on the second day. When I asked Angela at the front desk if she could reprogram them she kept asking well are you sure your using the right door? As if I was stupid or something. The whole experience was rude, dirty and unsatisfactory. I am requesting compensation for our stay. The two blankets alone were enough to make me never want to stay there again. It was nasty.

Choice Hotels International credit card fraud

I have tried reaching out to your customer service line with no answer after 30 minutes, I have tried emailing to [protected]@choicehotels.com and [protected]@choicehotels.com to only have them bounce back. This is my last attempt to try and bring you this info...
I wanted to bring to your attention something that happened after my stay at your Lewisville, MS Quality Inn. I used a credit card that I rarely use and hadn't been used in months. I stayed at your hotel on 6/26 and on 6/29 multiple charges and attempted charges were put on my card that I used. I am 100% sure the information was compromised from your hotel and possibly by your employee(s). I have resolved the issue with my CC company, but thought you may want to do an internal investigation. I am not sure how many other travelers have also been victims, but in this small town you are limited on where to stay. I also know many people will not reach out if they have resolved the financial issue. I elected to write to you instead of the police so you can take action.

I, for one will not return nor do I feel safe using your hotel. Again, do as you wish with this information, but I felt a duty to report it to you.

Choice Hotels International choice privileges rewards

I am a platinum member (DCH06234) who redeemed 8000 Joyce reward points for a $50 LongHorn gift card on June 12th yet I have not received the reward as of this date. I am very very unhappy about this!
I would like to know as soon as possible if there is anyone at Choice Hotels who can Rectify this situation and make me a satisfied customer especially due to my loyalty to this hotel chain.

Choice Hotels International unauthorized use of credit card charges

I booked three rooms At the Comfort Inn & Suits In Ann Arbor, Mi. For two nights. June 19th -21th. When we arrived I paid cash totaling $620.96. I asked for a receipt but was told I would get it at check out. The day we checked out our receipts were slid under our doors. I gave them their keys back and left with out looking at them. When we got home. I checked my account and seen they had taken out $ 200.84, for a room that was paid for in cash. I called them on June 25th, and they assured me that t would be refund back to my account. It has not been, and I have heard nothing from them. I would like my money back that they had no right to take.

Choice Hotels International substandard room quality/check-in delay

Our complaint is about the Clarion Inn, 9956 Hawaiian Ct, Orlando, FL 32819. We booked our two night stay reservations through priceline. Check-in time was supposed to be after 4pm. On June 23, 2017 (we were celebrating 0ur 37th wedding anniversary) we arrived at 4:38pm, however there were no 1st floor rooms ready (I'm a disabled Veteran with lumbar and cervical spine problems). We were told to leave and come back in an hour. I said that we would get something to eat and come back. I did ask to have a room with a fridge and the staff member assured me that we would have a fridge. Upon our return we were assigned room #188. Upon entering the room we noticed that the rug was extremely worn and musty odor. The bathtub had rust inside and outside of it (see photos), a dead fly was in the doorway of the bathroom, the light fixture over the sink was broken and after a few hours we noticed that the fridge was not cooling. I called the front desk and someone showed up an hour later. He examined the fridge and said that we should not put too much in there although we only had a few bottles of water and my medication (insulin). He stated that it was a slow running fridge and it may just take a longer while to cool and there was nothing else he could do. Needless to say, my medication spoiled and had to be thrown out the next morning and I had to drive 20 miles back to our home to get more. We left at 8:25am to get my medicine, when we returned at 1pm, the room still had not been cleaned, beds unmade and the trash was not emptied. Someone from housekeeping had come and taken the dirty towels but they were not replaced with any clean ones. I called the front desk and mentioned that the only thing done in the room was the dirty towels were removed. His response was somewhat hostile and he snapped back and said "do you need fresh towels RIGHT this moment?" He informed me that the rooms are still in the process of being cleaned. about 2pm someone from housekeeping knocked on the door and asked if we needed anything. I responded, if she could at least get us some more towels, and she said not yet, because they were in the laundry. She came back about 45 minutes later with towels. This was supposed be our 37th anniversary getaway. Instead of resting and relaxing, we were dealing with the anxiety of a substandard room and poor service. I had $100 worth of medication spoil because of an inadequate refridgerator, and I had to drive back home in the middle of our getaway to get replacement medicine, only to return to an uncleaned room with no towels. I would say that a refund is in order for having to put up with the unnecessary difficulties that we encountered in this hotel. In the past, I have stayed at other ChoiceHotels, and never experience such a foul smelling substandard room and terrible housekeeping practices. I am even more disappointed because being an African American, I have experience being treated like a second class citizen before, and perhaps if we were a different skin color, more care and concern would have been extended to us.

Choice Hotels International no breakfast items, bad check and check out service

We stayed at the Econo Hotel in Suffolk, Va. June 15, 2017 to June 18, 2017. What a TERRIABLE EXPERIENCE.
When we arrived staff person was eating in lobby with television playing LOUDLY. She wrote down the numbers to my credit card before she swiped it into the machine.
Room had a very strong odor of bleach for the first two days we were there, it was clean but not the best odor for a room.
Breakfast (continental)was a huge joke. no milk for cereal, tiny muffins, none or very little to spread on bread or tiny bagels, juice machine broken( container of juice on counter).
Loud music from other guests at all hours, beer cans left on window sills of windows.
Air condoned door broken off and laying on top.
Resolution:
I would like part of my money refunded to me.

Choice Hotels International unpleasant experience at quality suites in huntsville, tx

To whom it may concern:

My wife and I come to Huntsville, Texas every summer along with our son and his friends for a week long football camp at Sam Houston State University. We are currently staying at the Quality Suites which was Comfort Suites. We also have other friends that stay here too because of our past experiences. We understand that there has been a owner change and his name is Parm. There were a couple of reasons that we stayed here again. The management team that started with Jessica and Lori were always outstanding and were always willing to make our stay as pleasant as possible. I would like to point them out as they are great examples of excellent representation of how Choice Hotels employees should be. We also enjoyed the free breakfast that is provided with our stay. When we arrived at breakfast at 8:00am, there was hardly anything out on the bars. There was absolutely no syrup for the waffles and no milk. I turned around to see Lori who is now maintenance. She apologized again and again. She let us know that the management had changed and we feel as if things have gone downhill since then. There are very unhappy employees that work here. She was trying to do her best to provide a breakfast because the lady who was supposed to come in at 5am, did not call or show up. This shows that there are definitely issues that need to be resolved. Jessica came and said that she would head to the store to pick up these items that were missing. This is totally uncalled for. They informed us saying that they used to order supplies as needed, but with the new management, things have changed and all they can do is provide the list to them to order. These 2 ladies have went above and beyond their duties and we appreciate it. One of our beds in our room is broken. When a person sits down or lays down it raises up on the other side and then bangs loudly if you get up which I'm sure is a nuisance to guests in the room below us. Also, there are several lights in the stairways that don't work because it is almost impossible to see the stairs when going up or down. It's just a matter of time that someone trips and falls. The outside key reader doesn't unlock the door from the outside and therefore have to walk around to the front which is not very pleasing when your arms are full or weather is inclement. The 3rd floor hallway is extremely hot and humid. We are only on day 1 and are very unpleased and disappointed so far with our stay. We stay at numerous Choice Hotels across the country because we travel often, but may reconsider with other experiences such as this. We are also BlueGreen Vacation owners and know that they are associated with Choice Hotels. We will contact them also to let them know if these issues aren't resolved. This is not fair to the employees or the guests who stay here who are actually the ones keeping the doors open. We hope these issues can and will be resolved in a timely manner. Choice Hotels International bed bugs and filthy room`

On May 31, 2017, at 8:10 p.m. at night we checked into the hotel . ( by Rochel ) After putting our belongings into the room we noticed that everything looked neat and cleaned . Except for the toilet had a strong smell of urine . I sprayed the toilet down with bleach spray just before leaving back out the door . My husband and I was gone for about an hour at dinner . Got back ready for bed and realized that the smell was still there . We figured one night would not hurt ! Oh was I so wrong ! Around 5:00 a.m., I was awakened with my thigh very irritated on the front and back of it . The two bites bothered my leg so badly that I would continue to sleep in the bed . Before I left their my thigh was swollen in the front a back . I complained about my leg and not being able to sleep in . The desk clerk told me that I could call to speak to the manager around 9:00a.m. After speaking to the manager named Harry . he said that he was going to call in an exterminator . Also that he would call me back to let me know the results . I called Harry on Thursday no info, so I waited until Tuesday with no response . I called back Harry says there was no sign of bugs . All the while I have to bothersome bug bites . In the day light we could see how filthy the room was ! Harry said if the room was so bad we should have not stayed the whole night . We paid our money in good faith for a clean room that was clear of bed bugs, but not so . ($52.91 ) NEVER again will we be staying at ECONO LODGE !

Choice Hotels International hiring manager

My name is gwendolin velasco. I applied for a housekeeper position in noverber of 2016 at the comfort inn in casa grande, az had an interview well he said he would call and do a second interview. Well he never called. So in march I saw an ad in the newspaper that they were hiring again for housekeeper so I put in another application and got called for an interview. So I go fo my interview we sit down and he say tell me a little bit about yourself so I go on to tell him how I had applied in november and he looks at me and says oh I remember and he gets up and says ima have to pass on you. I said wait what can you tell me why n he says oh cuz I have a feeling. I dont think thats a good enough reason ive never felt so discriminated in my life so I told him thanks for wasting my time now I dont know about you but obviously something mustve caught his eye on my application maybe I didnt meet up to his standards or look the way he thought I would look but to not even give me a chance based on a feeling he had is a bunch bull [censor] n I need a reason as to why I wasnt given a chance cuz a feeling is not a good enough answer

Choice Hotels International pet room and pet fee for a bird

I stayed at a Quality Inn and Suites in SC on my way down to Florida. The "Pet Room" air conditioner did not work, it was hot all night. I complained to the manager 3 times and she told me that is as cold as their rooms get, which was a lie, my mom stayed in the next room that wasn't a "pet room" and her room was ice cold. I feel like i was given a substandard room because i had two small dogs.
Secondly, i was charged an additional pet fee for my bird, that is contained in a cage and there is no mess other than having to vacuum, which they should be doing anyhow.
I will NEVER stay at a Quality Inn and Suites, and at any Choice Hotels for that matter, as i have read other complaints about pet fees from other customers.
I would really like a portion of my stay refunded and the bird pet fee of $10.

Choice Hotels International "trying" to book with points

Today (6/2/17) I tried to book the Comfort Inn 75 Hart Dr, Barrie, Ontario for the night of July 28, 2017 on points. I can see the rooms are available however I can't book it. I have 16, 000 points and the room only calls for 12, 000. Upon calling customer service I am informed that I can book it but not until 30 days prior to arrival because I am not a Diamond member or WHATEVER. There are already hotels sold out for that night in the area so there will not be availability if I wait. I can NOT believe you treat members this way and you can't use your points when you want. I don't have this issue with Hilton Honors! I WILL NOT be staying a Choice Hotel EVER again and I WILL BE spreading the word to friends, family, Yelp, Facebook and whatever other social media I can find. Ridiculous.

We'll I was workin at the motel encounlougde 3 mnts miSs Ronack told me I was off for 2 weeks and that I have to tlk to her husband to come back to work I don't understand what's goin on no 1 never talked to me ronCk have a nasty attitude the job is not fit for her attitude mister Jimmy did not say nun but no 1 told me I was fired they never called me back I want to know how do I go abt get money from UN excuss working do I need a lawer are sue them are wat I need to do I need answers.. And they have bed bugs bad and we tell thm and they do nun abt it the motel just unprofessional they attitudes nasty and it's hard finding a job and the house keeper manger MOOCHIE HAVE A NASTY NASTY ATTITUDE SHE DNT KNO NUN ABT MANGER SHE TALK TO U NASTY... THEY HAVE. NO REASON Y NOT TELL ME NUN MOOCJIQE WALK AND TLK ON HER PHONE ALDAY I NEED TO SUE THM.

Choice Hotels International comfort suites phoenix north messed up prepaid stay

On January 18, 2017; we arrived to go to our rooms at Comfort Suites Pheonix North, and front desk person would not listen to my prepaid cries; and gave us a lesser rate and charged us for our 2 rooms; the next morning on our way to the airport early, the young girl at the desk said it was a prepaid, and the other girl just messed up. I left my cell phone number and e-mail; and asked if the manager could not give us a credit, to let me know. anyway, I never received info, but was charged for my prepaid with southwest reservations since early December 2016 (214.34 2 rooms); and then with comfort suites one room charged to my card and the other room charged to my brother-in-law. So, I turn in a complaint with my credit card; and they ended up charging me back my 214.34, May 2017. I am sure I lost my points with southwest, and did not get choice points. Need trained people to handle the front desk, and not leave someone not capable of handling problems like this by themselves. Not a happy camper.

Choice Hotels International demeaning, rude, embarrassing & racial encounter clarion greenville sc

I stayed at Clarion Suites in Greenville Sc On Saturday May 20, 2017 I had made my reservation thru booking.com upon arrival I had been told my reservation had been canceled for me not updating my card I gave another card for the record and did not have any other issues the reservation was reinstated. on May 21, 2017The next day I had not finished taking care of the business I had come to take care of and decided it would be best if I stay again. I made another reservation thru booking.com again received my confirmation number and pin. I immediately went to the front desk to take care of this as it was getting close to check out. I proceeded to the front desk to speak with the clerk and make payment. I gave him my name he stated he did not see my name in the computer and for me to call booking.com I asked would my confirmation number help he told me no it would not very rude and stated to call booking.com and let me take care of these other people. I went off to the side to all while he handled other customers one paying by cash for another night another customer paying by card for another night without any type of reservation simply stating they would like to stay over. I reached booking, com customer service and spoke with them about the reservation they informed me there were no issues with my reservation and wasn't clear why he did not see it listed. They put me on hold to call the front desk to what I thought was to clear things up he was very rude to the booking agent that was helping me as well and said what did she want him to do at that moment she switched back on my line and said that she would find me another hotel close by because he was refusing my reservation. I was really baffled as to why so I asked could I just pay right now without a reservation as the other patrons did. He told me that he didn't know how much the rooms were so I asked "You don't know how much the rooms where you work?" He said no very rudely and rolled his eyes. I asked why was he refusing my reservation he just ignored me and as other customers were walking in gave them a look jokingly like I was bothering him I was completely embarrassed as they all started laughing. I asked him was I being treated like that because I was black he didn't answer and him and the other people who were also white and laughing hysterically at me for no reason got quiet. So as I sat there on the couch trying to figure out what was going on I asked him what were we going to do with my stay over he sternly said I am helping others and you just go outside shooing me away like I was some kind of animal. I then stated I was not a dog or animal and I was calmly sitting there and was not going to go stand out in the rain because it was storming outside. He threatened t call the police I told him that he could because I wasn't doing anything wrong. I sat a little while longer thinking maybe he was having a bad day so finally I asked what were we going to do as the time was getting closer for check out he ignored me until I asked maybe about 6 more times. I informed me that I wasn't going to stay there as he was not going to take my payment for another night I asked him way he never gave me an answer. I said well I have to still get my stuff he said I suggest that you do that. I went to retrieve my stuff quickly and went back to the office to turn the key in I decided to record this encounter as the way things went before and because I didn't want him to say I didn't check out or turn the key in because I had no idea what to make of him at this point he threatened to call the police again called me a few names and I stated I was recording him and left. This was the worst experience ever! I have never went thru anything like this in my life and have never felt so embarrassed or confused.

Choice Hotels International we were lied to when we called and made the reservation

On 5/23/2017, we called the Bedford Indiana Quality Inn to make a reservation for 5/25/2017. The lady told us that they had all new beds and had remodeled the building. We were going for two funerals and needed a place to stay, so we asked if they had a bereavement rate. She said they did and it would be $61.00 plus tax. So, when we arrived in Bedford Indiana and went to check in at 3 pm, I said, so you have all new beds and have remodeled? The lady said, no. We are in the process of remodeling, but won't have new beds until our beds are 10 years old. From there we went into checking in and the lady said it will be $71.00 plus tax. I stated -that wasn't what I was quoted when I made my reservations. She said let me check with my supervisor and see what they say about this. She did and they told her $61.00 was ok. We went to our room and the sheets were dirty. She got us a different room. We went and showered to get ready for the funeral and found something on the floor that looked like dog food. I took it and showed it to her and she said oh, that looks like sausage or hamburger. Never the less...the room was dirty and we were stuck! We felt like we were betrayed, we've stayed at many Choice Properties over the years and have never experienced anything like this. This place was NASTY!

Choice Hotels International cancelled reservation, no room available

On May 20, 2017, I had a confirmed reservation with late arrival at the Quality Inn Windsor Locks, CT. 06096, as I was flying in from Washington State, landing at 11:10PM. My reservation was thru Booking .Com, booking number 1820.578.311. pin code 7482. Upon arriving at the motel at 11:40PM, I was told that my reservation had been canceled because my credit card had been declined, which was not true. Then, I was told Booking .Com had canceled it.
There were no rooms available at the Inn and they could not find a room at another motel . Therefore, I had to go back to the Airport and spend the night in a chair. Choice Hotels International my credit card was charged

I had a reservation for May 8. may 7 I tried calling the hotel no one would answer. and when they did a men put me on hold for a long time and never came back to the line. I called choice costumer number she tried to call and never got anyone . she told me she email the manager and I wont be charge for the room. she gave me a ref. number 8775160. I was charge and I have calling ever seen and get my money back. a friend told me about choice hotel, but after this I will not be using this hotel again.

Choice Hotels International extended stay hotel by choice hotels located 3330 w. coliseum blvd. fort wayne, indiana 46808

This past weekend my motger, daughter, and I traveled from kir home in WV to attend my oldest daughters graduation in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Do to many graduations in the area, we were unable to obtain a room at any of the hotels we have previously stayed in, whithin the Fort Wayne, area. Based on Choice Hotels reputation, along with photos and the description of the Surburban extended Stay Hotel, I choose to book a room there. Upon checking in, we had about 20 minutes to change and get back to the facility holding my daughters graduation. With this said, we took a quick glance around, noticing how large the room was, we changed and left. Upon our return that evening, around 10:30 pm, we noticed, that the halls smelled horrible. Like musty, stale smoke. Our room was completely disgusting. Dirty toilets, floors, cabinets, microwave, morrors, pictures, windows, stained furniture, dry rotted couch, dust on alarm clock, dirty forniture, broken ac units. I quickly took pictures of everything, and went straight to the front desk. They pit us in a different room, which was a little better, but not by much. While I was looking around the room, my mother looked up and saw an older gentleman at our door, making his way into the room. She quickly jumped and slammed and lovked the door. At that point I told her and my (13 year old daughter) let's go. This place is not safe and filthy. At that point we went to the front desk, and I informed them that this would not do. I told my mother and my daughter to go to the car while I checked out. My mother refused to do so, because she immediately recognized the 2nd man behind the counter as being the one who tried to come into the room. Our $80 was refunded. However, as a well know corporation, with a reputable reputation such as choice hotels, I felt that you needed to be made well aware of this particular establishment, and the
negative impact they will have on the choice hotel reputation.

Choice Hotels International woken up in middle of night

After a hard days work and an early morning ahead, we were sound asleep when a persistent knock at 2 am woke us. When my boyfriend went to the door, he was rudely asked, " are you smoking in here?!" he responded that we were sleeping. Our room was dark and quiet as we were asleep, doubtful much smoking could be going on. When we asked about it in the morning we were told someone smelled smoke in the hall and guessed it was our room. Now, how anyone could pin point a room from a smell, i don't know and the fact that our room was at the end of the hall right before the smoking area door and there was a party going on a few doors down may have been more likely rooms to check. This was very disruptive to us and left a bad impression of econolodge
