I am new to the area. I chose to bring my dog, who seemed to be in a lot of pain and very lethargic to dr.awads office through recommendation. My dog is Very mild tempered and sweet, the ladies I'm the office even commented on her sweetness. The vet took one look at my dog while she was still in the waiting room, and stated that she needed an X-ray, and that he would not perform one unless she was sedated and that she would need to spend the night. Then proceeded to hand me an estimate of $278. Without even laying a finger on her! I left immediately and called three other local vets, all of who told me that they do not sedate an animal unless it it extremely aggressive, which my dog is certainly not. And also that they would actually examine the animal before declaring the need for an X-ray. They recommended me to an ER vet, who after actually examining my dog WITHOUT an X-ray, figured out the issue. I am absolutely disgusted at the way we were treated at Dr. Awad's office and I will be sure to inform all pet owners I know so that they know to beware!

This is Delores Walmer adding something to my original post... Why would anyone WAIT until their dog was in a lot of pain and "very lethargic" to go to a vet? In my opinion that is being an irresponsible pet owner! Advice: When you have a pet that seems to be in pain you need to go to a vet immediately! Also, if an animal, dog or cat is "very" lethargic that is a sign of something very serious and concerns me that the dog mentioned in the complaint had been ill for a period of time. Something isn't right here!
To those of you reading these posts... It is cruel to allow your pet to get in a very serious condition and not be seen by a veterinarian immediately! Our pets are precious gifts and should be treated as such! I love my pets and have alway received the best of care from Dr. Awad and Dr. Aziz. Your pets are at your mercy... Treat them kindly and don't let them suffer!

I can't believe what Hc1989 posted about Dr. Awad's or Dr. Aziz's comments about her dog. I would like this person to own her post by listing her "real" name. I think you are making this scenerio up about one of the two veterinarians in this practice. I worked with Dr. Awad for over 10 years and and have known him for over 25 years and can say without a doubt that this situation would never have occurred. He ALWAYS examined every animal prior to suggesting doing an x-ray. I personally helped Dr. Awad take
x-rays on hundreds of dogs and cats without giving them sedation. Dr. Awad would avoid giving sedation to any animal if the animal was weak and lethargic since that would be too great of a risk for the animal's safety. I have NEVER seen him go into the waiting room and give a quote for any procedure. Dr. Aziz is the other vet who works in the same animal hospital. I know him well, also. He is a very competent vet and ALWAYS examines animals prior to making a decision as to whether to take an x- ray of someone's pet. Dr. Aziz is very professional and would not have said such a thing. or I In MY OPINION this scenerio was "fabricated" by "Hc1989". I do not want anyone to believe the comments made by her on October 22, 2013. Either this story is fabricated or facts were definitely left out. My husband and I have been in the presence of these two caring, honest and competent vets and we do not believe what is written in this post. Actually we think it is absurd! DON'T BELIEVE WHAT "Hc1989" said in her "anonymous" post! This is obviously someone with a grudge or possibly an employee of another animal hospital! Now I am going to OWN my post by stating my name, which I feel that everyone should have to do. Submitted by Delores Walmer
