Door 2 Door Movers household moving service

Damages, items left behind, extra fee, unwilling to comp us for our loss
We selected Door2Door Movers of St. Augustine two months in advance from the field of movers because they were local and presented well what they would do for our local move 4.3 miles away, house-to-house. The onsite house interview, we made sure they accepted Discover card for payment with an affirmative.
This was not our first move since we have moved many times. We packed ourselves and have never had such a disappointing experience in dozen plus moves across the country professional and personally, as with Door2Door. If we had known how poorly they were going to treat our personal possessions, we certainly would NOT have engaged and paid them $1.1K. We estimate a loss in value of bedroom, dining room furniture and dishware of hundreds of dollars.
All damages to dishware (see photo) came from few dropped securely packed bins in their truck witnessed by us, furniture broken (see photo), including dropped out back of truck of work radio that did survive their mishandling.
We were asked at the end of the loading process, if we could take two lamps and we agreed but upon reentering outgoing house found a pile of personal items (see photo) too many to load into out two SUV vehicles.
Upon delivery, we were told a credit card fee of $77 was required, unknown and untold to us months ago.
When we unpack over the past weeks, we found (photo evidence) broken crystal vase, collector vase, Longaberger stoneware bowls one each of multiple sets, plastic plate, large and small glass bowls oneof multiple sets, one of six set stem wine glasses, Corelle ware serving bowl. It was not the packing but the dropping or tipping over of stacked bins inside their truck cause of our damages.
Be aware as buyers of their poor leadership, lack of supervision, substandard handling of your personal possessions, dodging responsibility for compensation of our family's daily dishware, household furniture, timeless heirlooms and individual keepsakes.

Door2Door Movers has given me the consumer approval to post our dissatisfaction with their service. That is good of them to grant us this right to voice our concerns for future consumers seeking moving service from them.

Door 2 Door Movers Stolen Furniture

Picked up furniture in California on June 12, 2010 to be moved to Florence Oregon with in three to four days. The quote was for $1, 600 they made me pay $7, 600 They only deliverd my boxes that I packed and all the rest of my furniture is missing. They broke a lot of what was deliverd by not marking or wraping it in with blankets as was in contract and paid for.
They will not anwer the phone or return my calls. As of this date August 9, 2010 my I do not have my furniture. I will not have to buy new furniture and contact an attorney to deal with these crooks.

I don't know who you are but I filed the police report and my reciept with the IRS for my 2010 taxes.
So if you don't have something worth saying about these slim bags and the way they rip people off then shut up!

She was there when they told my stuff. Also there deliviery dirvers robbed my bedroom closet while putting a bed together while the other one kept me and my wife bussy talking to use in the kitchen. Just before they arrived we were putting away boxed that we hauled up in a trailer with our valubles that we did not want to ship. They took my Rolex watche and a Heuer diving watch and 6 Gold Dollar Proofs. The policy got a hold of Robert and said that they would have the San Jose police waiting for them when they got back from Portland OR. Nothing happend and was told that it was now in the hands of the district attorney for which had never contacted me. All in all with my missing furniture, tools, power tools, and the jewlery it add up to about $50, 000. I just can't beleve how the DOT just thumbs their nose at this kind of criminal conduct and just allows it to happen and no one cares or does anything about it. I have filed complaints, called the police filed report with the DA and the DOT but no one cares. If you ask me they are all on the take. So beware

According to the Public Utilities Commission - Sowmya Burugu or SOMI is the CA License holder. She was an integral part of the entire scam. It was her calls and emails to my Mother that requested additional funds be sent to a personal residence. We have a word for that - Extortion. Your on-line pleas to try to look innocent here are ridiculous. If your family is suffering now it is because of YOUR actions. You are culpable for all of the crimes you committed with Robert Rapisura. If you don't like how this is feeling or the shame you've brought upon your family - then don't do it again!

D.O.T. LICENSE REVOKED! PUBLIC UTILTITIES COMMISION LIC OFFICIALLY REVOKED. THIS BUSINESS IS NOT LEGALLY ALLOWED TO MOVE HOUSEHOLD GOODS. DO NOT USE!

Under suspicion of FRAUD. Extortion! Do not use! Criminal Investigation Pending.

If they have already stolen your stuff - contact the Public Utilities Commision - Transportation Division ask for Investigator Perez main line 415.703.2782 - HURRY! Robert and Sowmya Burugu (Somi ) will both be in jail soon - so act NOW or it will be too late.

TRUE STORY:
12/17/10 S.J. police and 2 Investigators from the Ca. Public Utilities Commission (issues licences for moving companies) were at the storage locker where Robert Rapisura and Somi had stored several loads long overdue for delivery @ Public Storage - Self Storage 1080 Pecten Court Milpitas, CA 95035.

3 Victims joined them in order to receive back their belongings. Somi was the only one present initially and opend the locker. The 3 victims and investigators began sorting the contents and reuniting the victims with their belongings. Trucks started being loaded. At one point Somi had to return to her house to get 2 barstools that were missing out of the load. Unbelievable. THEIF! After the contents of the first locker was cleared - not everyone had all their stuff - Where's the rest of the stuff? Somi admitted that there was another locker. WHAT? Ok. Now Robert shows up. Refusing to open the other locker. At first he said he didn't have a key...then started trying to speak lawyerly - idiot. "you don't have the right, blah blah blah", "I'm calling my lawyer, You can't do this." WANNA BET! Lot's of commotion while we all wait for the Puclic Storage Manager to arrive - appearantly he's the only one who can cut the lock. ? !@#%!

It's pouring rain at this point - and Somi asked the victims all waiting to get into the 2nd storage locker to leave the emptied locker - she needed to close it down. To which someone replied..."NO. It's convenient for me to stand here - out of the rain." Everyone agreed. She seemed to be in a hurry to leave - what with the police there and all. Poor thang. Her little world crumbling. THEIF! Can't take the heat baby, get out of the kitchen!

In what was like a modern day Stand-Off the 3 victims (along with the police and PUC Investigators demanded their belongings back - and for over 2 hours Robert tried to deny access to the second locker. Supossedly kept calling his lawyer - then lawyer talking to investigator. Eventually the locker was opened.

The Police and the Investigators worked brilliantly together in this somewhat "happy ending" story. We got some of our stuff back. However, we're out over $2000. Not sure how much everyone else had lost. We noticed that Robert drives a VERY nice car and wear's expensive ghetto clothes.

Help take this sleazy liar down! He's a menace to society and is preying on vulnerable people. Together to make sure that he NEVER gets another business license! CAll the PUC today. File a complaint! 415.703.2782 Ask for Transportation division and Investigator Perez.
