I purchased a puppy from this dog breeder. She has been breeding dogs since the year 2003. We had been in contact several months before the pups were born. The financial agreement was a $400 deposit and then 400 dollars to be paid upon pick up of the puppy. After I paid the $400 deposit, this breeder contacted me every week and demanded more money. By the time I was presented with a contract I was in $575. There had been no mention of a contract prior to this breeder taking my money. The contract was shady like the name of the breeder. I did not agree with the contract for many reasons. The main theme of the contract was stating over and over that any deposit money was non-refundable. Here I had already handed over $175 extra. I had to drive to Ohio to pick up the dog that was a 15 hour drive for me and my significant other. I was really concerned that there was going to be no puppy and the address was not going to be valid. Her last request for money she told me that she was asking all the buyers for $25 because she could not afford to buy food for the puppies. She promised she would do training with the dog. No evidence of training was done with a puppy. The contract demanded that we stay in contact for the remainder of the puppy's life. The contract also stated that any violation of the contract would result in $1, 000 fine. It was stated in the contract that it was mandatory and non-negotiable that the name Brennan be used in the AKC name of the dog. It is bad business practice to take a customer's money and then demand that they sign a contract. I never signed the contract. I went to get the dog. I gave her the remaining $275 and I left. I saw that she was disseminating inaccurate information about health and well-being of the breed and I corrected her on it on Facebook. She deleted my comments. I deleted her on Facebook. That's when things got ugly. I deleted her on Facebook but she was still on my messenger and she had my phone number. I was not opposed to sending her updates about the dog . She texted me and told me that I was in violation of her contract. She told me that that was $1, 000 fine and she was going to get a lawyer. I reminded her that I did not sign her contract. She then told me I had to sign the contract. I kindly told her to go pound sand. She then threatened to come repossess the dog. She went as far as asking a third party in my state to come and take my dog from me. That person contacted me and told me that that was not going to happen. I contacted the Great Dane Rescue of New England and they told me to share my experience on Facebook. At that point she had people creeping my page, taking screenshots, and again threatening lawsuits. She then used bullying tactics sending friends to message me and make jabbing comments under the post. This breeder has no trainings or certifications. She's not registered as a breeder with the AKC, she said there are no trainings or certifications out there for care and Wellness of dogs. She sent many of her facebook buddies to back this up. I have since found out that this breeder has eight dogs of her own living in her home, she does not have a kennel license, she does not file with the IRS. She is not a legal business she is not affiliated with the Better Business Bureau. The puppy is healthy thank goodness. The home that he was in was dilapidated, smelled very bad. They all live in squalor. We could not get out of that place fast enough. This person makes a better bully than a breeder. I do not recommend purchasing a puppy from this breeder. After this experience, I don't think I will ever purchase a puppy from any breeder ever again.
