Horrible work was done by Bathwwraps on my parents home. These are rip-off artists of the worst kind.

My mom contracted Bathwraps to install a tub and wall liner in their main bathroom for $3500. This is a high price for this amount of work.

A Bathwraps employee measured the area and assured my dad that the liner would "fit like a glove".

When it came time to install, a number of weeks later, the installer (who told my dad that he had been working for the company for 4 weeks) took the existing lino off the wall and some of the plywood that was behind, replaced the faucet/shower controls and put drywall up, without the existing shims that had been installed behind the original plywood. This caused the drywall to be recessed in relation to the surrounding wall.

In order to bring it back flush with the surrounding wall, he used 5/8" thick strips of soft putty spaced about 8" apart on top of the drywall, which was supposed to support the flexible plastic liner. There is no way soft putty will properly support the thin, flexible wall liner.

Then, he said there was a problem with the tub, and needed to call his supervisor. The supervisor came on site and told my dad that the tub needed to come out 1/2" in order for them to install the liner. Maybe they would have caught that when they measured?!?

According to the supervisor, this would require removal and replacement of the tub with a new one, for an extra 700-1000 dollars.

He also said that the existing wall was too flexible. He said it was 1/4" plywood. My Dad said it was actually 3/8" plywood. After hearing that, the supervisor didn't say anything.

He then said they would have to reschedule the work since the job scope had changed. He said he would call back at 8:30 the next morning. That was over a week ago.

He also told my dad that he had two options, either pay them the extra money to finish the job, or cancel the work and they would leave the job as is. They are trying to pressure my parents into forking out more money for nothing.

With so many long running infomercials, I suspected what all the above horror stories confirm. Schlock company.
Thanks for all the stories about these rip off artists.

I contracted Bath-wraps to install a shower & tub liner ($4300). Allure does the work in my neighborhood, which was fine with me since Allure has a good reputation. NO! The workers kept the the tub in my living room while they worked in the bathroom. When they picked the tub up they turned it & scratched my entertainment center. Their ad said that this was a one day job, which was important to me since this is my only bathroom. I even double-checked that with the salesman. It took two days. The second day was a Tuesday, which was the only day of the week that I had told them from the start was not good for me. I had stressed this with the salesman & with the lady that called to confirm. The only good thing about it taking two days was that it gave me a chance to check the bathroom without them looking over my shoulder. I found a large oval mark on the wall. Hoping it was just dirt I tried to clean it - didn't work. I also saw that they had chipped a big piece of the wall (the sheet rock was exposed). Before the workers came the second day I called the office. I was told that they were not available & the receptionist took my message & said I would receive a call back later that day. That was over a week ago & I've yet to receive a call. I pointed these issues out to the workers when they came that day. They cleaned the mark (it is NOT completely gone). They spackled the wall (dark grey spackle, I have peach colored walls). These were large mistakes, why did I have to point them out? My bathroom/hallway/living room was left a MESS! When I took a shower the morning after the workers left I had a hard time turning the water off. I took off the knobs that they had put on & I screwed them back on. I have had no problems with the cold water since, I do with the hot water though. I can not tighten the knob & it constantly drips. I had no problems before. It is " funny" that I still have not rec'd a call back, yet I did receive a bill. That they were quick to send out.

Earlier this year had my master bathroom done by Home Depot spent $7000, they did a great job in 2.5 days. Just watched BathWraps infomercial, and was thinking about giving them a call to save money and time. However after reading the reviews they are not getting my business. A Big Thanks to all the reviewer's.

I looked at Bath Wraps with my wife and I liked what we saw. So, we called them. We got a phone call back from lady who said that they could NOT install Bath Wraps in our place because it was a manufactured home and it was a single wide. I told her it was a double wide. She said she was sorry they could not do the work. About 15 min later, I got another phone call from same company, Fairbanks Construction Co, in Ocala, FL. The lady said she had our name as a contact. I said, yes we left the info for them but said the other lady said they could not do our place because the walls were not "strong" enough. I said the walls are at least 4" thick. So, the lady checked again. She called back again, and said they can't do "manufactured houses" with small bathrooms..So, the problem was NOT the walls, it was because the workers didn't or couldn't install the wall panels in small places. Seemed very odd to me. The lady said the wall panels weigh too much for the workers to install in small areas. After reading the reviews, I can see that the "REAL" problem is that the workers either can't or won't install the panels. Now, I'm happy they turned me down with all the negative press about how bad the workmanship. Negative reviews are hurting this product. Wayne

Had My bathroom tub area remodeled with Bath wraps materials through Empire, approx 7 yrs ago. After 3 yrs called Empire to complain about water that had been building up between the liner and the tub. Was told that you need to re-caulk every year under their warranty. Figured it was a lost cause and gave up the fight. The better half got tired of the problem and called Empire again after 7 yrs to voice her displeasure with the job. Was told that the installation was only warranted for two years but the material had a lifetime warranty. She gave us the Number of Bath Wraps to call. We were able to talk to an associate one time, who said that they would get back with us. Tried calling back a number of times after that to contact them, and leaving them messages with no luck. Contacted Empire who than said that they do not do bath liners anymore but they would try to contact Bath Wraps on our behalf. They had the same problem with them not returning calls or emails. I don't know how they were finally able to communicate with Bath wraps but it was determined that they would replace all the materials. From the time of the 1st complaint to to receiving the materials took approx 6 mos. But couldn't get any contractors to install the materials. Ended up Home Depot came out and gave us an estimate to do the remodel, but they would only do so with their materials with a lifetime warranty. All the efforts to resolve the problem with Bath Wraps and Empire proved futile. The job was finished today buy a one man crew from Home Depot that took 3 days to complete. He did a great job by all appearances but who knows what will happen down the road. Good Luck to all who are looking to remodel their Bathrooms. Don

I saw the infomercial and thought I would check it out. I always read reviews before I do anything. I am glad I am doing so now. I am not a fan of the sub contractors under a fronted company. and thats what this sounds like. Thank you, I WILL NOT BE USING THEM.

I agree with the above comments. Don't trust that commercial about Bathwraps. I called for info. and was transferred to a person who said they do "one day only" plus 2 other options of remodeling:2 )a 5 day budget remodeling if you keep all the same spacing in your bathroom & 3) Customize - remodeling with adding space to the bathroom. In the commercial for Bathwraps they show how they take out the whole bath area: tub, shower walls and replace with the style you choose that they offer. The woman I was speaking with said they don't put in a new wall, just new tub and shower and then put their material over your existing wall. She said they don't mail out any information. She said they come to your home with their samples/information and discuss it with you in person. She said she was not in the department that could give me any average price quote for such a job. I asked her if they have a website. She told me that the website was www.alure.com. I went to the website and Alure is a whole different company that does remodeling and gives no information about "one day only" remodeling or mention anything about Bathwraps. It does mention a "5 day remodeling". I decided to type in Bathwraps into google and a website came up. This website came under the name "Bathwraps". They advertise that they do tub to shower ADA (Americans wit Disabilities Act) remodeling with grab bars, special seating etc. You cannot get any information from the website. Anything you click on brings you back to requesting you to fill out information: name; phone; e-mail address, etc. (which I didn't) for them to contact you. A window popped up and said if you type in your phone number someone will call you back in seven seconds. I left my number and the phone rang immediately. It was the same answering agent who routes you to the supposedly appropriate party. I told her what happened before. She said she was answering for Bathwraps by Liners from Florida. She read a phone number that was indicated for me that was [protected]. I told her that was not my number. Here are all the phone numbers related to the commercial I saw for Bathwraps: [protected]; [protected]; [protected]. If you recognize any, you may have be subject to the same runaround. The agent was nice and I left her my number to pass on to "appropriate person" just to see who ends up calingl. I only wanted information. BEWARE OF THE OFFERS AND THE PEOPLE YOU SPEAK TO. I have no intention of using any of these company's whoever they are, but it is very interesting how they move you around from commercial to answering services to other companies. Conclusion - Thoroughly investigate anyone who claims to be a service provider before ever considering to hire them and remain on guard.

Thanks for all of your comments and I hope that people will continue to send comments especially like these to warn others. I am 52 years old and I'm very disappointed how people can TRY to TRICK and DECEIVE others. I have had this happen to me so many times lately by so many different companies, its RIDICULOUS. I came from nothing but I have learn in life that nothing comes to you easy you have to work hard to get what you want. And then you have these people that try to RIP you OFF, it's sad. I almost called Bathwraps but I'm glad I didn't. My advice to others ALWAYS READ the FINE PRINT and ALWAYS ALWAYS READ REVIEWS. If there are more bad reviews than good, its true.

Today, I had a representative from this company come to my home to give me an estimate on replacing a 32' X 32" shower stall. I was told that If I chose to tile the shower, It would only last a couple of years and I would be replacing it and it would also be very slick. Little did he know that I knew his Acrylic stall that he wanted to install requires a mat on the base because of the slick surface. Then he informed me that it was his understanding that my wife would also be present and he could not discuss the cost of this job without her being present. I was beginning to smell a rat, so I asked for a ballpark figure and he would not give me a figure without her being present. I am 64 years old and it is my bathroom that I am remodeling. I then asked him to leave my home. I then in turn called the company to inform them of their employee's behavior and spoke with a supervisor. He could not understand why he could not give me a cost and he figured the cost of a 32" X 32" three piece stall at $6, 482.00. This was a plain white stall with no fixtures or a door, just a three piece stall that I can purchase through Lowes for $600.00. DO NOT use these crooks, you will be left with terrible work and they prey on the elderly

Wow! I am watching their infomercial as I reply to your comment. After reading all these complaints, I am changing the channel. Forget Bath Wraps @ [protected]. I am a 66 year old. Don't need the drama.

My wife had someone come for a 'free estimate' - turned out to be a sales pitch of the worst kind. The sales person "Mike" was a rude sexist, who pulled out all the infomercial tricks (long buildup, the "reveal" price; but if we order today...; but wait, he'll throw in an upgrade at no extra cost). I needed to ask him to leave three times. Any company that uses these tactics should not be trusted - good products sell themselves, and don't need fools who treat potential customers like fools.

I am VERY displease by the workers in my shower install. The commercial that prompted me to call for an estimate was very misleading. It says affordable bathrooms in one day. Ha, this is day 3. They spoke of how clean and professional the workers are. Well, Drops of blood was left on dry walks and floors for me to clean. Spit bottles left behind. Wrong cuts made on the shower wall. And to find out this is only the second job one of the guys has been on. I am paying $5600 for a crap job?!?!

There was a BIG TIME BathWrap commercial on TV last night and I was rather intrigued by what was said. Darn glad I read these reviews! I guess it goes without saying, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is... A pox to the bathwrap folks... I will not be using these cats, that's for certain...
