We would like put in front of you some of the worst things that are happening in our HUMAN RESOURCE Department (HRD) of PERANGUDI cognizant Branch.
Some of the HRD people of this PERANGUDI Branch are spoiling the image of our esteemed organization very badly.Mr KANNAN, HR In charge, Mr. P V S KUMAR HR Manager and one lady executive are misusing their office capacity by recruiting NON SUITABLE persons at various capacities in our branch by taking bribe and some personal benefits. These people are very badly using their power and spoiling our company image by recruiting the unfit and non suitable candidates.
One example we would like quote here for cross checking.
Sir, recently these above said three HR personal recruited a person by name Mr. K.HARI KRISHNA (who is very close relative of Mr. PVS KUMAR).
1) This HARIKRISHNA does not have even one required qualifications for the post to which he recruited.
2) He is a very ordinary person with very very less marks in SSC, INTERMEDIATE and in DEGREE ALSO. Even FIRST class also not there.
3) Not only this he possessed MBA degree in MARKETING, where he recruited on the basis of MBA(HR).His MBA percentage is also very less.
4) He has around 8 to 9 years gap between studies. These years he wasted his time and loitered very badly.
5) His knowledge in English and his communication skills and his HR skills are literally zero. He can’t talk at least with other people in own mother tongue TELUGU.
6) His short previous experience also not related HR Department. He worked as MARKETING executive in a small private firm and that also very short term.
Sir, if you dig like this you can find out various non suitable qualities in him. He is really unfit for the post but still he was selected because he is close relative of Mr. P V S KUMAR.Mr HARI KRISHNA is not fit for attender post but now is in the post where he is judging the other candidates suitability for a job in our organization. This is really ridiculous.
we are really wondering how this HARI KRISHNA got appointment where as lot of suitable candidates with lot of hopes are waiting out side for their opportunity to serve our organization. Serving our esteemed company requires a hard and dedicated people not like HARI KRISHNA and co. This purely because of KANNAN and P V S KUMAR and LADY executive who are getting personal gainings. For their selfishness they are scarifying the company image very badly.
Sir, for the sake of the our company and suitable and desired candidates who are having lot hopes of getting an opportunity to serve our company, please take proper and stringent action on above said three HR personnel. Please remove the persons like Mr. HARI KRISHNA from the services and give opportunity for the right candidates.

I was selected for cognizant through compussing.I was promised a job of a programmer .During the HR interview the HR said that if you would like to serve in the networking department for a few months then we will shift you to programing .But once i entered the networking department i asked if this was permanent or would i get a job as a programmer.He said it was permanent .Then after repeate requests they shifted to programming.then i was given training in JAVA and i was given to wor kin a different technology.total harrassment.

revoked the offer letter
CTC offered me the job although I had mentioned that I had worked for them earlier for 10 days but I had to leave them as my mother was very ill. But, when this was told to HR after wards, she revoked the offer letter. This happened in CTS Mumbai and I believe that there is no point in telling the truth to these people . They dont believe in humanity, they only see money and run for money.

I am very sorry to read about your ordeal with CTS. Cognizant is no doubt the worst company in today's modern world. This website has scores of compaints from India and the United States against CTS and this company should be legally declared as inhumane or sick.
I sure hope that your career has not been affected or your offer letter was revoked after you joined them.
Appreciate your courage to put this up on this forum and I hope this will help the younger people to make a decision if they are at any point approached by CTS.

CTS is worse than a body shopping company. I m recruited in CTS-Singapore and was sent to Swiss for a 3 month training at client. Once I report to Swiss CTS, no one bothers to care about my dependant visas or reloation back to Singapore. I have to ask my wife to resign n join me at Zurich. I had to fight my way back to Singapore ( I m a Singapore resident and I wish to stay at Singapore). I convince client to relocate me to Singapore team. But CTS takes advantage of the oppurtunity and works the recontract with higher billing and sells me as Sr Project Manager (as same level as client hiring manager but I m not briefed on that). Client holds me for 1 year and due to interim bad relations with CTS account managers starts terminating CTS resources. As a result my contract with client dint get renewed. CTS asks me immediately return to India (though client assures me 1 month notice). CTS doesnt brief me on India pay package till I land at Pune. Once I land at Pune, I m shell shocked to see the offer (salary refittment) they put. Its just 9 lks for 9 years experienced. (the same was offered in 2007 April by company x, and now its 3 years since then). They dont promote me to APM, still hold me at SA level. They dont even pay my return travels charges (Taxi fare). Still not sure if they are going to pay my 10 days India stay. Stupid stingy crap company. Guess what I did in the next 15 mins after knowing the refitted Indian salary. I put down my papers and stream of congrajulations poured on me.

Cognizant is a hell. I became CTS employee by the means of the transition from UBS to CTS.
I agree CTS is not good for lateral hires, you need to be from Chennai or kolkata or Pune to move your way up in the org. Salaries at CTS are below par. Anyways CTS has nothing to offer apart from cheap billing rates to its end clients and all the issues are offshot of this problem.

Cognizant(CTS) is knows as Chennai Tech Solutions, the company owned and operated by Chennai people...Really pathetic experience from such people. If you speak tamil, you will get whatever you want even if you don;t deserve. All team members speak in tamil even though you have team members who does not understand tamil, speaking tamil in all meeting is recommended by Managers...you can imagine the internal work environment of this company...Do not just see the profit and revenue. Once non-tamil person enters Cognizant, his life gets screwed up like anything...Most of the decision making leaders are Tamil, don't we have others who can do better job ? Forgot about the promotions, onsite travel etc if you are non-tamil even if you exceed all expectations... Really pathetic company to work with... I would recommend Non-tamil members not to join Cognizant, first get feedback from existing non-tamil employees before joining Cognizant..

Yes, It's purely tamil technology solutions. Here is the formula... If you are not tamilian but working good they will overburden you, focus on your negatives, makes mountain hills out of a mole and then isolation to make you as their slave. If you say any objection on this, company has separate department for doing all unethical things on you, these depart don't have rules. Believe me it happened to me. They will create fake cognizant id's then isolation of an employee, harass them mentally by sending mails with these id's and change their reporting location every 15 days to harass them.
In my case, My HR was a fake id (physically not exist) only thing is he can reply automatically. I had maintained all the proofs of all the unethical things happened to me by hoping one day i could show this to higher authorities and expected help from them.
But when the day i reported to higher authorities with all proofs, by naming few people with their fraud actions. They didn't take any action on them, Instead My access to intranet got disconnected immediately and i was forced to leave the company without any reasons. I got understood the matter here, because all the higher management is tamil, tamilians will be favoured in all forms and others will be suffered.There is pure regional discrimination here.

Tom Jirele the U.S. data Science lead has a very bad reputation of very degrading to people he can take advantage of, people who are lower socioeconomic status. He is known to degrade woman in the organization of Cognizant. He grabbed my butt while I was walking down the hall. I also hear from data scientist that he know very little about the subject area and only in the company because of political reasons. He also took bribery from many corporations when running for office in the school district township.

And one more thing, without any reference, you can not get transfer.If you are a girl then they sucker b**** people will give you transfer for no reasons, if you are a guy having no reference- it's impossible to get transfer at all. hi, i am nitin kumar.I am working as a programmer analyst trainee in cognizant, chennai.i am here since march, 2014.Actually i belong from delhi. If you join CTS, then you compromise with your dreams.I tried my level best each time in front of managers to get transfer into gurgaon after completing training, but they told that i will have to work only in chennai and i will not get any transfer even after 5 long years.
Everyone from south india can adjust between tamilians because their language is very similar, but for a north indian guy like me-they treat like alliens and don't interact friendly and makes your life so miserable that you will start thinking to leave this company from the first day. They use their stupid language in meetings and force you to learn their language. So if you want to join company, then learn tamil first and start eating disgusting south indian food all the times.And specially for vegetarian people like me-it's a place of death, So start eating non-veg before coming to chennai.

My friend who is from Hyd also faced similar experience.She was good at implementing new ideas but, that made her to spoil career as she was working from chennai. what ever new idea she was implementing, team members managers, Sr.managers and techleads everyone asked her to present ideas infront of the world as their implementation.The only reason is, she was not from chennai.They tortured her to leave chennai by blaming her with all non-sense things.Shocking, if a girl is doing well in her career, to stop that they made her life miserable, what not to say blamed her as mis-behaving with guys, a thief and made her as a servent to everyone in the project for all tamilians.Not allowing her to go to other company as she will improve there.They have forced her to join in the company they asked her to join as somelead maintains a Recruitment firm/Consultancy.
The only reason is she was an extraordinary performer.They all implemented her ideas but cheated her and spolied her career and she was just 3 years experienced. I need someone to help her.

unethical hr and management
The HR team in Cognizant is very unethical. They are like the mafia. When my manager along with the account management team worked unethically, I reported it to the HR, and the HR threatened to kick me out of the organization in the pretext of something else. The Code of Ethics is a document to cover the unethical operations performed by the senior management. Management team performs unethical stuff all the time. They bill for offshore staff who are on vacation. And they lie about the skill sets of associates. And they make onsite coordinators lie about the work completed by offshore. They lie about anything and everything. They set an example to the subordinates that not only is it okay to lie, but also that those who don't lie are against the organizational goals.
We shouldn't be forced to lie by our management. And we need HR and Talent Managers who have some bit of ethics and conscience. Our CEO and HR heads should try to pay more attention to the small details of organizational ethics instead of caring only about revenue. Management shouldn't teach values that it is okay to take advantage of the clients for the sake of money.

What the Cognizant HR Mr.Jahid Iqbal is thinking, I don't know. I almost cleared the interview. In the final round, He asked me about CTC and I said 3.5 to 4 LPA. He immediately said I'm rejecting you. Is this proper code of conduct? Actually, The salary is 2.8 LPA per annum according to description and I was Ok with it and cleared primary rounds of interview. He should not have asked the expected salary and even of he ask so, he should have said we only pay this range of salary. He has no right to reject me when I answered for a choice given to me. That HR is not properly trained it seems. Freshers are not puppets. This organisation may loose the goodwill if these type of HRs are present.
One of the worst.. Being an ex- employee i resigned four years back. I had my good reasons to leave the managers threatened me to not hire again and he did that and rated me negative intentionally. I cleared all the round after that 5 times and never got an offer later internally found that they had rated and commented negative on me despite of good work. These people dont deserve good candidates and that is the reason this company has become piece of thrash.. stupid HR and managers with no sense. Done join or even go for an interview... There are lot of good companies.
I agree with all the posts, I am an ex-Cognizant employee and my husband still works with Cognizant. He is been tortured and harassed by the manager on the basis of ratings and onsite for not giving company to him for drinks. None of his leaves have been approved for an year which is really affecting him mentally.
He can neither complaint to his manager's manager nor to HR as all of them have same mentality and they support each other.
I feel like whatever Cognizant projects about Ethics, Compliance, Harassment, Regulations etc...is all fake and just for making name. No HR in the company actually listens to the voice or investigates any complaints because they are getting salary then why to worry about others.
I couldn't agree more. A few days ago I went for an interview at Cognizant in Kolkata, India, I cleared all the rounds and at last was waiting for the salary discussion. The HR (don't know if she deserves to be called one) I spoke to for this was Miss Priyanka Chatterjee. She remained extremely rude and hostile during the entire discussion and had a mocking and sarcastic tone of voice during the conversation. Her body language and facial expressions remained negative throughout. I kept thinking to myself as to what could be the possible reason for a person to be this hostile towards me but could not figure anything out. At the end of the discussion she said she would get back to me. It's been weeks and I haven't heard from them (another thing Cognizant should implement is give proper necessary feedback at the end of an interview and not keep people in the dark, I mean people have a right to know upfront whether they were selected or not or what went wrong..at the least tell them your decision other than making them anticipate or speculate..that's just one of the many unethical things Cognizant does) . Well coming back to my story, it turned out that Miss Chatterjee is indeed extremely unprofessional and unethical..the reason for her behaviour was that she is a friend of one of my ex's and his ex wife (sounds funny.. I know :P). It was evident that she held some kind of a personal grudge against me for this reason. This kind of unprofessional and unethical behaviour is absolutely uncalled for and disgraces a reputed organisation like Cognizant. I'm surprised how such people are hired..does Cognizant not have a proper code of conduct and does it overlook such instances, as she was pretty confident while behaving this way, as if she knew that the company would do nothing even if the issue was escalated. A word of advice to Cognizant, kindly take good care of your employees as they make your company and investigate the actions of your HR department, I'm sure you would find quite a few skeletons in their closet.
I agree as this has happened at healthnet.Some Cognizant employees at health net got their house wifes through hiring managers at healthnet.some of the house wifes had no computer related education, no computer work experience, whatever is assigned even small things to them at the clients place is being done by others assigned by their husbands or husbands friends.we are made to work on weekend or late hour and do not get this wonderful treatment.
cognizant recently hired a bunch of house wife's at one of their client location in Los angeles.These house wife's did not have any computer related experience, computer education and work experience but were hired through the back doors as they were the wifes of the cognizant management folks at this clients place.Something is wrong somewhere.

More than 70% of the HR department in Chennai Cognizant is corrupted for job offerings with pay - above 10 Lakhs per annum. Just verify this by sending a 100 % eligible candidate for a position posted for salary above 10 lakhs, ask him to post his CV in Cognizant's Career portal. Though the candidate is 100 % eligible he won't even get a call from the HR department atleast just for a formality. The HRs will SHIFT+ DELETE all the resumes they receive in their webmail for jobs above 10 lakhs and wont even look at the resumes posted through company's career portal. They just bribe huge amounts by which they are earning more than 20 + lakhs per annum . I kindly request Cognizant's Directors and Vice Presidents to check the webmails of the HRs and the posted resumes in job portal to know the truth at least one in a week. This will remove all the Chennai based Cognizant HRs crime filled with bribery and corruption

Have anyone dealt with Cognizant Recruiting ?. They are worst of all to do business with.
I had relationship with client so client agreed to hire a consultant from me but i had to go through cognizant because they are preferred vendor. Cognizant asked me candidate's phone saying they want to talk to candidate to make sure he is good. After talking to candidate, they bypassed my company and contracted directly. You will never expect such greedy action from any american company.
When comes to ethics cognizant as a company and management has zero ethics. I think we all should file a class action lawsuit against this company. For every penny they will do anything to steal it from you. Shame on you cognizant ! Same on you
hr operations and poor integrity
When a company grows it is important to hold tight the values as well as to conform to the policies, which makes it viable for its next level. Looks like Cognizant is not cared about it and sure this negative attitude will show up if it continues not to care for a long time.
To cite an example, Cognizant has not announced the promotion list till today which was due to March end (Almost 2 months delay). There has not been any communication to employees regarding why the delay or when the results should be expected. Management do not attend to or bother to answer the questions raised in company forums and HR helpdesks.
This shows primarily, how weak they are in HR operations and organizational communications. The value given to employees comes next.
Imagine the fate of the project if the software developers and engineers and project leads shows the same kind of attitude - ie; two months after deadline also no communication regarding the delay and when it is expected. Also ignoring emails and query from clients about the delivery ;)
It will not go till two months. In a couple of weeks they will be thrown out of the project if they show an attitude similar to what they receive from their employer.
Hopefully management will realise it's weak links sooner than later.

Mr. Reguraman Deivasigamani is not at all good in his technical skills. He don't knwo anything. He lies. He tells he has some 12 years of software experience but when you talk with him you will come to know that he do not know anything.
In his whole so called 12 years of exp he has worked only 4 months at onsite. Even he cant talk properly in technical language. No professionalism.
What else to say man... I am feeling bad because, I don't have anything to learn from him. Usually people learn from their seniors but here no chance...

I joined CTS in chennai for training.
We batch 261 were placed in some baba aashram remote area like semi jungle.
No decent facilities.
That to one day electricity went off.
It was end of patience and guys did lot of shouting.
Next day cognizant HR called few guys among us randomly.

I totally agree with these points, this guy don know anything the sad truth is he don even know ENGLISH. He did only post master job in CTS. he will simply forward mails and if he want to send anything of his own, then his jalras will do that for him and in his system itself. During appraisal this guy didnt know what comment he shud add and for that he got help from one of his jalras!Extreme comedy is the mail he sent one day and the subject is SUPER IMPORTANT...we heard of very important...what the hell is SUPER IMPORTANT?Only god and he knows the meaning...Guys he never had 12 yrs software experience, he came into CTS and was doing the role of Elizabeth...its really good time for orbitz and bad time for the asociates in his new company...Please join with me to prayer for that poor company and associates...

Doesn't even speak English well. One is forced learn and converse in Tamil to make him understand the basic processes in testing practice. I would also challenge him to publish the list of papers on testing that he may have presented to any conference. I'm extremely confident that the answer will be NIL.
Cognizant should wake up to the reality of many such managers in its Bangalore office. Also, it should promote and nurture genius managers like Stan Iyer or K Prabhakaran or Kaleeswaran Ganapathy to checkmate the menace of 'D=Don Dieva'.
Yes, it's 100% correct. He got a very good person in his team as his coordinate at offshore who was having long and exclusively IT exp and the assignment was given to his subordinate to take care of complete tech and project management. That direction came from the BLR Director of testing services. But from day 1 to last day of that employee harassed like hell and that guy was so patient and got transfered to other CTS location. He did very good job during his tenure in this project and completely managed the project as a shadow manager. Even onsite folks were very careful when they are interacting with the subordinate. But this manager as usual harassed that guy from day one and damaged his image and character assassination. Due to that subordinate professional approach, he didn't complained to anybody and got transfered to other CTS locations. Even he didn't discussed to that guy, after the subordinate left the other location, he made his rating for his appraisal as EM (third rating). To give one example about this Deivasigamani, he rated as very poor management, leadership quality and lack of tech skills. But he rated his subordinate as third ranking. Deivasigamani called his jallras, and like kiran at onsite a pa seeking support for promotion. Imagine how this Orbitz manager behavior. The present Testing director knows everything, but due to his golden heart, he gave lot of golden opportunity to survive him in the same project.
Deivasigamani suggest promotion list only for his jallras, those who are supplying multimedia cd (film, songs). Even one his jallra also posted complaint against him, that was really surprising.

Cognizant Technology Solutions doesn't take care of it's employees. There are no reward systems and the salary is very low. I joined as a lateral recruiter in India with a comparable salary, but I was forced (to the point of threatening) to go onsite to USA since I was visa-ready and there weren't others available with the required skills and a visa. At onsite, my salary was very low and I was not able to take care of my wife and children on this salary. I worked long hours - day and night and never spent time with my family. This created a rift with my wife. My manager gave me promises of promotion and so I worked. A promotion also meant that my salary would increase and this could help me take care of my family in USA and my parents and brother in India. But when the time for promotion came, my manager said that there are others on the queue and he also reduced my rating since only those who have to be promoted gets high ratings. In Cognizant, during appraisal times, the manager doesn't rate us according to the work, but rather according to the people his manager tells him needs to be promoted. I was unmotivated and asked to go back to India immediately, but my manager gave me false promises of promotion in the next cycle. When I refused to believe him, he along with his manager threatened me and insisted that I don't leave. I am the only support for my family, so I had to stay. Then, in a few months, due to poor code quality from offshore, the project got scraped and I returned to India with my family. I was moved to another project. My offshore salary is now as low as the base salary. The new manager refused to nominate me for promotion because as expected, 1. he already has his list of faithful people that need to be promoted 2. I just moved into the account and new people aren't supposed to be promoted. 3. I got the lowest rating because those who are to be promoted gets the highest ratings even if they are poor at working. 4.The people who butter the senior management gets promoted. It has reached a point where the manager will directly tell us that he will give us the lowest rating because he cannot promote us and it has nothing to do with our work quality.
I have given my resignation and will leave soon. But those who are planning to join Cognizant, please remember to not move from country to country and please don't plan to stay long enough to get promoted. Also remember that offshore code quality is poor and onsite coordinators will be stressed to produce some quality code. Offshore works a lot, but it is difficult for us to anticipate customer needs without actually facing them once. In offshore the main developers are young freshers without experience. The Senior Associates and APMs should start coding, instead of blindly using the rest of us as scapegoats.

I have joined on august. I have worked on two projects and got appreciation from both of them but i got 4th rating. This is worst company. people dont join here. They will throw it at anytime. Poor management, no one will hear our voice.
Highly corrupt management; Just like corrupt politicians ; The (real) best performers, i.e. the ones who do all the real work (technical work, client communications, end-to-end troubleshooting, other innovative work) are given the worst appraisals and NEVER promoted and the ones who neither have technical skills nor communication skills but just do personal work for their managers and their family members are given the top appraisals and promoted every alternate year.
I have been at A level for 8 yrs and I am leading a team of SA and M resources majority of whom donot have proper technical or communication skills but still I am never promoted but my team members move from A to SA to M after every 2 years.
hi, i appeared for CTS devops position interview. and got selected for the same . discussed salary and locations from HR. he told me next week they will release offer letter. but till yet no offer received from them. i guess i totally wasted 10 hours for their interview in gurgaon.
I have worked for 4 Years 8 months in Cognizant Technology Solutions. September 25th 2015 was my last working day. I had to quit the organization because my manager was monitoring my mails and communicator chats. Each and every chat on oc was viewed by manager. At first i thought it was ok but later he started monitoring my phone as well. Each and every call and message, messages on whatsapp, viber, etc on my phone was viewed by that cheap guy. Gradually he got scared and asked others to access my phone. Gradually many managers got involved in this including the HR's. List kept on increasing i could here many people discussing about my personal life. I can think of only one reason why he did this was he was very possessive about me i guess and i still cant imagine why other people where discussing me, my personal life is as normal as anybody else's. Other people instead of confronting him joined him in this shameless act. I had no other go than quitting. Now i am still not sure whether they are still continuing to monitor my phone. I am unable to use my own phone and this is very frustrating. Spying is an illegal act atleast now they should stop as i have quit the company. I have already changed my number 2 - 3 times. Can somebody please help me ?
I have an experience of 4.5 yrs in Cognizant. When i joined cognizant, i had almost 3.7 yrs of experience of IT exp and 1 year of Non-IT exp. They gave me Associate-Projects as designation. From past 4.5 yrs, nothing has changed for me. I am struggling to get the promotion.No one cares. My salary has increased only 1.5 lakhs. I have worked so much for the company doing all the good job and getting client appreciation. All worthless to the management. These people hire new resources with experience much less than mine and give then Sr. Associate designation with good salary. I saw people having 5.5yrs of experience getting Sr. associate designation and salary upto 10.5 lakhs. Mine after working for 4.5 yrs is still 8.13 lakhs. The only good thing which happened to me in past 4.5 yrs is that i got UK onsite opportunity that to with a visa validity of 1 year. Cognizant has made a salary structure that anyone at Associate level wont get salary more that 40k and hence his visa cannot be extended. Onsite client needs me but the poor company has its own rules and regulations. For me, the only option left is to quit cognizant and give a swing to my career. Cognizant says' HERE WE GROW'..this tag line is nothing but a myth. In reality, here we don't grow rather than we get frustrated. I have made my mind to quit cognizant by this year end if i don't get promoted. And someone ask me the question that would i like to join again, then my answer would be a Big NO.

Winning a lotto lottery is much easier in cognizant rather than getting promotion. CTS is worst of lot and if you are onsite its worst of all Promotion you may have keep appeasing your manager and his family . put lot of likes on his facebook page. Love him adore him adulate him and if you can not do any of the things then suck it up . Promotion is far fetched dream for hard-workers smart workers and sincere workers. HR people & their advertisement:
HR people came to our college. told a lot of good things about cognizant mainly the revenue part and cognizant beats TCS, INFOSYS blah blah blah which has no relation with the work culture and employee satisfaction.
Work culture in COGNIZANT:
Official timing 9.30am-6.30pm. but it was only for the new people. all the senior members of the team comes to the office @12.30pm. they come to their chair put their bags and go to ground floor for breakfast & morning cigarette. they come to their seat @1.30pm open their desktop check mails (official & personal), facebook and it's 2pm for lunch break. lunch break breaks @ 3.30pm they again come to their seat open their desktop and start a phone call. at the end of the call no result and they start quarreling among themselves upto 4.30pm. @ 4.30pm again smoking time which ends @ 5.30pm. after that official works starts from 6pm. till that time new people have to wait. obviously @ 6.30 they want to go back to their home but senior people don't give permission.
Bench culture in COGNIZANT:
HR people should get a Nobel because they continuously lying to the new people by saying there is no bench in cognizant!
after training (the most low grade training) new people are deployed into various projects as BUFFER resource that means no allocation, no visibility to client which convey the message to the company that these particular employees did nothing for the company.
Project managers & other seniors take the new people to do their work by them and they just come to the office and do nothing but time wasting which is described in the above point and before the delivery day they panics and create lot of pressures to the new people. After successful demonstration they took the credit and the new people gets nothing but he has is no right to say this if he says it he will be in global bench.
Rating & Promotion:
The only key to get promotion is Buttering Buttering & Buttering.
I have 20 months of experience in this company and finally left it on 3rd April, 2013. On the last day HR called me for exit interview and asked whether I have plan to rejoin. I said NO.

I am working for Cognizant. I am also from the team called Orbitz. I advice people in Cognizant to be cognizant of the Orbitz team and please do not join this team. It's a team with 100+ members. The manager of this team, Deivasigamani Reguraman, will never consider you as a human being. He never allows people in his team to take leave. He monitors each and everyone like a College HOD (this is what his previous profession was). He still thinks he is in a college and wants everyone of the team members to be under his control. After office hours, we should be ready to take up extra works not related to project. Actually he expects us to work from 9 to 6 and after that should take up extra work and he says only when we do extra work, he may recommend us for any promotions / onside opportunities... This is the real thing happening in the project. We will never get a recognition for the good work unless we do some extra personal works for him. Only his 'Trusted Lieutenants' will get every opportunity. I think even his direct boss, The director is afraid of him. Otherwise atkease he would have advised him. He never listens to people and he never behaves like a human being.

I agree with discrimination in CTS and its rivals its most common in these companies, its not tamil or telugu or Marati or hindi association. CTS managers are all mostly internal college recruits from 2000s era and they are like chickens raised inside a Farm because lack of their experience. I am a tamilian and i faced lot of problems with managers who are tamils and north indians, I think mostly they are all bad, unprofessional and has no clue about People Management.
I am not from Tamilnadu, and my manager is tamil, he is always in a favour of tamil coleuge even they do whatever they want, they talk in tamil on call and infront of non tamilinas, they dont share the knowledge.

I totally agree with these comments. I have heard a lot of people complaining about Cognizant. They have the worst HR and the worst people on the planet working for them. They should have done well by now if they were n't this bad. How can you do well if the best cannot be employed by you and you cannot keep good employees? Shame on Cognizant.
CTS is a worst place work. Beware of Tamil Managers... They will harrass people from other regions like anything.
i am here another guy from Cognizant the worst company i have seen in my 8 years carrier .If you are a tamilian then u can join a cognizant even though you have half knowledge like ur other tamilians.Tamil is the qualification cognizant needs nothing else.their Apprisal system trusts on Tamil qualification .the worst company i have ever seen.90% management are Tamil Kongas.They will fight with each other and they will screw you together.CTS stands for chennai technology services.

i agree. to add the worst, if anyone jump to cognizant from other big companies like wipro, infy etc they designate you in management level may be 5 years + exp after graduation who is unfit for management lack of very basic communication skills, half knowledged tech skill etc etc etc. Moreover people jump to cognizant for onsite to USA and eventually settle in USA. For the reason being cognizant bring the people on L visa and do EB1C quick green card processing for management. while they file perm they fabricate the responsiblities to suit the EB1c requirement.
At the same time the person who stayed longer and longer with cognizant won't get promoted that easily to management.
one more thing i like to add here, cognizant makes the world feel it is a american company but the truth Cognizant technologies is 100% indian (desi) company like other companies like infy, wipro, tcs.
