Casablanca Mission Ceiling FanFailed controllers, lifetime warranty not honored

B

Faulty controller failed repeatedly, refused coverage under Casablanca "Lifetime" warranty.
We paid nearly a thousand dollars for our Casablanca Mission fan model 97054T (may also sell under similar model nos. "970xxx"). We mistakenly believed this was a top-of-the line product and a good company. We invested the extra money intending to make it part of our house - for life. The fan's computer based controller - without which this fan motor/light will not run at all - has failed for the second time, with the fan no longer responding to the controls, it is unusable. Casablanca claimed their "lifetime warranty" was meant for the motor only and not the controller. This made absolutely NO sense at all, as the controller is physically part and parcel of the motor in this model, and the two are inseparable to operate the fan. Casablanca demanded upwards of $100 to replace the flaky controller - we declined. For this money, a completely new, reliable ceiling fan can be bought. Casablanca has avoided honoring their warranty, and have employed an obvious and transparent word trick to do so. Suggest other prospective fan shoppers avoid this fan line at all costs, and avoid the Casablanca warranty (i.e. buy another brand) if you can.

Similar experience as above - very disappointed. We thought Casablanca was a class outfit that would protect their good name in the event something went wrong. Our model is a Stealth DC - 54" Model: C45G45B, now a cumbersome piece of trash - thanks Casablanca.
The fan controller failed and we've been given the run-around by Casablanca. Ironically the cheaper fans we purchased at the same time for other rooms still work like the day we installed them. I hate to write bad reviews but maybe this and the review above will save you some money. Thanks.

I have had the same problems but I was dumb enough to purchase two of these. One for the home and one for my cabin. The one at home failed shortly after the warranty. I took it down and sent it to a service facility. A month and $300.00 later I got it back. It ran o.k. But I sold the house. The second fan has run like ----- after about 1year. It was at our cabin so I forgot about it for a while and finally pulled it down and replaced the switch and board. It ran for 6-8 months and then the same issue. I contacted Casablanca and ordered parts for around $200.00. They arrived 3 months later. I installed them per their instructions. I turned it on and blew a fuse. There is nothing wrong with the work I did. I am going to contact them and get my money back. I will not buy another Casablanca Mission Style Fan.
