I purchased this bumper assembly with hitch to replace the one on my truck after a blizzard in February 2026 in NJ. I was towing my camper home this past weekend (May 18, 2026) after a long weekend and the hitch snapped off and my camper detached from my truck while driving. Thankfully we were moving slow and the camper did not roll or hit another car. I contacted carparts.com and advised what happened. They first wanted to send me a replacement and I said, "No Way!". The bumper was under warranty since it was purchased in February, and they said they would reimburse me for the product after I returned it. I said I am not paying to send back a bumper that is over 100lbs. They sent me a shipping label but the more I thought about it I do not want to remove the bumper and be driving around with no bumper on my truck. I emailed them explaining this and offered to just send back the hitch that snapped off and requested they reimburse me for the rental truck to tow my camper home. I have not received a response from them.
Claimed loss: $457.69 (purchase) and $77.56 (rental truck)
Desired outcome: I response and a full refund of my order without returning defective product and reimbursement of rental truck.
