-0- stars - I live in a cal am property for 2 years. While the apartments are nice, the neighbors are great and the surrounding area is good close to stores you can even walk. For the amount of money they charge it is not worth it. Any issues, you get excuse after excuse. They don't fix, they put a bandaid. I have a complaint going on a year and have been through -4- property managers and they all make promises and do nothing. At this point the property is inundated with pigeons, my patio looks like I have a pigeon coop about 20-30 birds at any given time - no one feeds them I have put up everything I can think of, paid out of pocket to clean and powerwash for the same issue the next day. Had to throw out my furniture. Management just says they will get back to me. Its a health hazard to have bird excrement and bird feathers all over the place, especially when you have asthma or breathing issues. It's a shame because the property has so much potential. I am from out of state and was happy here the first year, now its a disaster the way they run things. They can't keep a handyman they all leave. All that says when you have such a turnover with management and handymen is that you dont treat your employees right. Calling cal am to get a person on the line, you get voicemail and no call backs at all. Just dont understand how a property went downhill in a year so fast with no regards from anyone in corporate they just want their rent and dont respond to anything. I know when my lease is up I am totally out of there along with everyone else that is complaining. Spikes, scarecrows, reflective tape, owls, sprinklers, peppermint oil, bleach, and nothing is working. They build nests and have babies and just multiply and they go from patio to patio. So nice to see feathers and bird excrement everywhere you go. Dirty staircases too - not once have I seen them powerwash the vestibules or stairs. I added photos the bird on the roof flew off my patio when I open the door and wait for me to go in to go back. The excrement which I am embarrassed to even show is about a months worth - I wasn't able to clean due to being sick, but paid someone to clean and powerwash $200 on friday and by saturday theres already more excrement. So I threw money out the window along with all the stuff I bought. Ive called dept of health, environmental dept and no one seems to be able to help - which I don't understand because this is a health violation - but I won't give up I will keep calling everyone until someone agrees to fine the management company.
Recommendation: Don't do it - move onto another property not worth it unless you want excuses and no answers
