Canadian Tire - associate/canadian tire mastercard

I was enjoying one of my few days off. I stopped in around 5-5:30 just to look around at the christmas stuff because it's "canada's christmas store". I hadn't even been there for 5 minutes when an employee came up to me and asked me if i had heard about the sales- i said no, but told him he could fill me in. I also work retail and understand that this is part of his job. I barely understood what he said before he started going off about the Canadian Tire mastercard and how you earn points when you shop there and at other stores. I politely told him that i was good, but that i would think about it. He wouldn't leave me alone and asked why i wanted to think about it. Well sir, because i'm freshly 19, making minimum wage, still living at home, and because I have no clue about finances. He then kept telling me "oh, $300 limit!" or "you pay no extra fees!" or whatever after every time i hesitated. After about less than 5 minutes, he wouldn't leave me alone so I basically felt like I had to sign up for this damn card. I basically was bullied into it. He asked for my ID and was asking all this personal information in the middle of the store, which i did not appreciate. I get that he was trying to get it done quickly but come on. Who asks how much i make in a year and how much i pay for rent in the middle of an isle? He then gave me this "temporary card" and told me I had to use it in order to be activated. I was so uncomfortable in the store at this point, i had no idea if i had just been scammed or what I had signed up for. I just wanted to leave and get to my car to cancel the card I didn't want. He followed me around the store, which gave me great anxiety and basically made me buy something I didn't feel like buying. I knew when we were in line at the cash that I couldn't go through with using this master card because if i used it i would be in trouble. I basically ripped the "temporary card" out of his hand and put the item down and ran to my car. I immediately called customer service for the canadian tire master card and the women who helped me was excellent. I can't for the life of me remember what her name was, but she is incredible at her job and made me feel heard and understood my concerns. This happened friday, november 15th around 5:45-6pm and this women deserves a raise or at least some praise because I was pleasantly surprised at how wonderful she handled the situation. So, we got it figured out, and she cancelled the card for me. However, this visit left such a bad taste in my mouth. To say I am mad is putting it lightly. I am borderline afraid to go into another canadian tire again in fear of being bullied, and made to feel guilty for not signing up for this card until i gave in, just to get the guy to leave me alone. I have not returned to canadian tire and don't plan too, which is a shame because I like this store especially at christmas time. I have told my friends, family, coworkers and customers about this experience and they all will not be returning. I completely understand that the man who approached me was just doing his job, and that he has goals he needs to meet. I understand that, I do because I am in the same position at my job. However, there is a difference between telling a customer about what you offer and being that pushy to the point where a customer cries as she's leaving, and never wants to return or spend a dime on this company again. I also felt this interaction was racially motivated. Canadian tire, do you tell your associates to target young white women carrying designer bags? Do you tell them not to take no for an answer? That is certainly what this feels like. I didn't see any other associates come up to anyone else in the store. Imagine if you guys told your associates to target people of colour? That would be racist. But since i'm white, it's totally fine to not leave me alone and make me cry in the parking lot as I wonder what the hell i just signed up for. Honestly, shame on you. When it comes time for me to sign up for a credit card, I will remember this awful experience I had and not even consider giving you my business.
