The Shoppers Drug Stores in Orillia, Ontario do not have enough cashiers. Usually they have one cashier working and self checkout.
Normally there are 4-5 people waiting for the cashier and choose not to use self checkout.
Before self checkouts were installed, the cashier would call another cashier to open a second lane. With the self checkout system they are normally not busy as most customers choose to use the cashier. The installation of the self checkouts has increased the waiting time. I assume the store is saving money, however the service is allotted slower than it was before. I have started to avoid the Shoppers Drug Stores and will use Costco Drug Store or Walmart.
Desired outcome: Increase the Cashiers on duty and stop putting pressure on Customers to use self checkout.
