Staples - Customer complaint on an employee of staples.

I recently purchased the WF-2860 Epson printer on June 30, 2022, I was actually the last customer in the shop I bought a printer off the shelf and took it home to set up only to open a used printer the cartridge's were already set up and empty in the printer, in the box was a liquor bag and receipts in the box as well, I wasn't able to go back until July 02, 2022 due to my work schedule but did call in on July 01, 2022 to inform a manager of my situation. I took back every piece that was in it. as I took it back to show the associate at staples, he proceeded to call me a liar saying its impossible for that to happen and I am not telling the truth and tried to give me the liquor receipts and bag and basically said those were mine and I did all of this to get a money refund. I am an indigenous female in my early thirties. I explained that I could not use all of the ink within the amount of time between bringing item home and taking it back. the manager came and the associate tried to inform of the situation and very incorrectly but I had spoke up and said that it was me to let him know what the situation was as the associate was not being professional and basing my situation by my ethnicity only for the manager to point out to said associate I was sold a Epson return that gives the consumer discount prices for. he was very rude and unprofessional even when he was told to give me a new product and even then this associate continued with the rude attitude. I just wanted to write to you as it was traumatic and embarrassing for me, everyone at the tills and close by looking at me as if I was this liar who purposefully left my liquor bag and receipts' in the box trying to do a scams which in itself is just sickening to think, even though I stayed well composed and did not stoop to his level he was talking in a very loud almost yelling voice the situation which had got the shoppers attention when I only wanted what I purchased to be corrected. I am a regular shopper at your staples and now I am to embarrassed to even go back there. I just wanted to write this to your company to let you know that an associate working in your store does not approach a situation with indigenous decent with the same mannerisms and problem-solving solutions' that he would give to other customers. my friend had recorded the interaction as well if need be. I am now more self conscience and anxiety filled as I suffer from PTSD that situation has triggered my anxiety to start again when I go in public settings that situation has effected the way I think when I am talking to employees and I am afraid to return items if need be to be called out loudly a liar and that my race is what the associates see rather then a human shopping like every other person out there. thanks for reading this sincerely, Jenna Applegarth.
